Big Biller by Top Echelon is a cloud-based recruiting and hiring software that combines the functionality of an applicant tracking system and recruiting CRM solution. The solution helps to automate and organize recruiter's daily workflow which allows them to hire quality talents for their organization.

Big Biller ATS allows tracking candidates performance and their work history. The solution offers features like resume parsing, document importing and email marketing, among others. Big Biller is also equipped with candidate relationship management tool which allows to track candidates interactions, schedule interviews and manage a centralized information database. Once a resume is uploaded into the system, the solution automatically scans the relevant information required to create the candidate profile for initial screening.

Big Biller also offers job board integration tool using which recruiters can post open job details on their websites and other job portals. The solution supports email marketing capabilities that can be sent to clients or candidates about the job search.

using it for candidate tracking, email, research on LinkedIn, Facebook, the internet all works well and very easy to use.

Cons

search is a little cumbersome at times , cost for 10 jobs cost more than the monthly fees, the way to remove duplicates is troublesome. the cost of advertising and the lack of some of the boards that you can pick from if you are in a specific industry. The split network needs to have some better oversite as to the split policy as some just auto forward without doing any work but get half the fee.

Overall, I feel like you get what you pay for with Big Biller and it is good for a company that is small and starting up.

Pros

Big Biller is inexpensive. I like that Big Biller can make lists which I like. I also like that I am able to see the reports of sales/marketing activity.

Cons

There is no automation. It does not link to your email if you use gmail. The search options are extremely limited and also the reporting is extremely limited. There is no actual pipeline for each job is in a separate location then the candidate profile and I find that confusing.

Cons

Big Biller is the fourth program we have implemented to run our recruiting firm. The Big Biller software is easy to use, fully functional and very intuitive for all levels of tech skills. The learning curve was almost non-existent for both me and my admin who works on our ATS constantly.

Pros

Ease of use, etc. but also I can't say enough about the support staff. Most especially our account manager, our training person. I didn't have too much contact with the tech person who did the implementation of the Big Biller job board into our Web site, but I understand that that went smoothly also.

Cons

Nothing that stands out in my mind.

Advice to Others

Big Biller is an ideal choice for an ATS system from all aspects.

We've used BB with my current company and previous company. I've found it limiting in terms of searches; documenting, and call planning. Some of my peers that own agencies have gone to other services.
Also, I just bought a Mac and have recently found out that BB is not compatible with it.

Price, on-line support, on-going training.

Cons

When a person goes to a new company, it would be better if a new field opened (number 1, employment history) so that we wouldn't have to erase and drop everything back (previous companies) down a field and rewrite their companies, titles, etc.

Merge requests, great to have YOUR support to do it for us, but I kind of feel bad having to ask often and wish I could just do it on my own.

I have over 30-year experience in recruiting and have used several databases during that time. It is a great ATS but lacks as a CRM/sale process tool. It is complete and thorough and easy to use. It is no overly complex. You use most all of the features. Most records or entries are usually no more than 2 clicks away. The parsing feature is invaluable - just ask us old timers that had to OTC faxed resumes and still correct them by hand. The CRM/sales process is not as efficient as the ATS functions, as this is an ATS. But the new database should have new CRM features. I would like a little better metric report system, but I am not sure why or what would be better, It just not as comfortable as some dashboards that I have used. And some of the features I am sure will be updated I.e. emails - auto-type entry, cut and paste pics and data, integration with calendars, also even VOIP systems. (click on the number to dial).
It is sometimes not as intuitive as it should be but I think most of that is being addressed. Also, I think it should have some accounting info, placement data information, for both full time and temp. Nothing exotic by can be integrated with popular accounting systems. Support and assistance are easily 5 stars, everyone is willing to help one on one. People are reasonably easy to contact. And everyone speaks excellent English and are culturally aware.

Pros

Ease of use but thorough. Parsing is awesome. Great customer service. Big enough company to fill the needs of a database and support, but not so big that there are barriers to info and exchange of ideas, suggestions or problems

Cons

Needs some updating on processes - one click instead of 2. Not a very good CRM. the 'note' field does not automatically save. I have seen an hour interviewing a candidate and then go to another record and forgot to save the notes. This really hurts production, efficiency and credibility with clients candidates.
Better CRM/Sales pipeline mgt system. Able to select the names in the quick add field of a company record to email a specific person in a campaign. Otherwise, you can't organize by company status (Lead, prospect, account etc) and you have to enter the names manually in a hot list to be emailed.

Advice to Others

The product is well priced, complete but not overly complex. I would recommend it to any small or midsize staffing company or even a large company if you don't need all the bells and whistles. I like those additional users are inexpensive to enroll.

Easy to use, search, and enter basic info on a candidate.

Cons

On the skills section, it is cumbersome to put relevant skills into the profile.Limit on the number of characters you can type if the skills are not picked up and you want to add others. Only scans for the ones at the top of the recruiter's list in the skills section. Time-consuming but an important step when you are searching for a candidate with certain skills. You miss good candidates because the skills you are seeking, although they have them, are not listed on their profile.

The software is easy to use, does everything I need it to and is very affordable. The customer service is based in the US and always resolves the problem.

Cons

The customer service used to pick up quicker or call back quicker. The reporting on the Pipeline when you convert to an excel spreadsheet doesn't have a place for notes. Or conversely, the pipeline doesn't have a column for "Company". I've been going on about this since 2010 and nothing has changed.

Advice to Others

Big Biller is by far the most relevant software I've seen for the recruiter (headhunter, not corporate) community. Quick effective searching, the ability to message entire screening results in one shot, save templates, keep the calendar organized, set/remove jobs for advertising, duplicate jobs and so forth.

The jobs can also be instantly displayed on our website, which is a great feature because we only have to enter each job once.

Very easy to learn - very easy to use and the price is right. While I understand advanced and modern updates are coming - The existing system works great. The training and help support are fabulous! I have used Big Biller since I entered the recruiting field which is over 15 years. I have evaluated other products but find Big Biller to have the most user friendly program. Their support and training teams are always there to assist whether it is a simple question or a problem.

Pros

Simple to use. Information on candidates and clients can be easily imported. Internal searches are simple to set up. Creating hotlists makes it much easier to manage searches.

It is really easy and extremely helpful. I had a license from our company for several years but avoided using Big Biller for a long time thinking I do not need it and it was maybe just a pain. Kind of "old dogs do not need to learn new tricks" . Once it was made madatory to use, I found it so good that I wish I had not wasted so long to just do it as I know I would have made more money. For now I want to become even better at BB. I am pretty good but I know if I mater itm, i will make even more placements.

After investigating various software - we determined Big Biller was right for us. It was good when we started and it has even improved since then. The pipeline is one of my favorite enhancements. I also like the reporting capabilities and the ability to keep up with what my team is doing.
