BrightMove provides on-demand recruiting software for staffing firms, recruitment process outsourcing providers and corporate HR departments. Founded in 2005, BrightMove is used by thousands of recruiting and staffing professionals.

With access to over 1,000 resume databases, BrightMove’s sourcing tools assist recruiters with finding and sourcing top talent. Social media integration allows recruiters to embed an applicant's LinkedIn, Facebook and other social profiles into their candidate profile. This feature means that recruiting departments can stay apprised of each candidate's professional progression, helping to keep the information in a database up-to-date.

With the BrightMatch tool, firms can align qualified candidates with open positions across thousands of corporate sites. It also offers single-post capabilities to job boards and the tools needed to manage applicants throughout the recruiting process.

BrightMove’s on-demand recruiting platform is priced monthly based on the number of recruiters and users on staff. Because the product is Web-based, teams don't have to worry about updating or maintaining the software.

The vendor has excellent customer service. The product provided is decent for the price you pay. The functionality makes it easy to train new employees on. Searches are easy to maneuver and the customization for this system is very flexible. I would recommend this to a start up company.

Implementation is lacking: While there are tools in place to teach you how to put triggers into place unless you understand technology on what I'd describe as an intermediate level they may not function the way you'd like them to. The owner of our company stated that when they purchased the system for use any customization beyond the standard template software had to be completed on their own. When I started working with Brightmove there were many triggers that did not function the way they were intended to for what the owner needed. Simple operator error that I was able to fix, but it's not exactly simple for a person not as familiar with some of the tech intel.

Data Manipulation: Data Analytics is hard to gain with this system accurately. There are multiple ways to manipulate the data and therefore makes it almost impossible to set tiered goals for the staff as the data is then not broken down completely. The numbers can be spoofed due to this oversight.

Recommendations

I would look carefully at it before deciding it's right. The price is very fair for a start up company and the system is definitely easy to navigate. However, there are some downsides as well. The downsides, however make it worth the price you pay for it as a more polished system might be slightly more expensive. I think that we have stuck with this system for so long due in great part to the fact that our company was able to make it work and the customer service is above par. However, as we are moving into a mid level range we are definitely open to other options now.

This vendor/product is very user friendly. I was trained very well and I am able to navigate around the system pretty well.

Sometimes it is slower than I am clicking. Also, sometimes in the middle of working in Bright Move the system logs me out and I have to log back in to loose everything I was working on.

Recommendations

I don't have any recommendations at this time. I might have more input after using the system for a longer period of time.

I really like the PowerSearch feature of Brightmove.

Sometimes it can be a little frustrating. For no apparent reason, there are times when I can't upload a resume, even though I have been doing that function all day.

Recommendations

Try and you will like it. I came from PeopleSoft and I found Brightmove is more intuitive and more user friendly.

ease of use, quick support responses and the ability to customize yourself without having to rely on BrightMove to make changes to setup.

It is unnecessarily inefficient, sometimes the steps that it makes us go through are not necessary. Also, it is sometimes glitchy and inconsistent.

Make sure to learn all of the hidden tools that the software has to offer, I know a lot of times people don't take advantage of everything available in Brightmove

I like using this applicant tracking system best because it allows you to manage your candidates in your own unique way. They allow us to customize for each client's different needs and process.

It takes some time to figure out how you want to use the system (so many different ways to get the same thing) but once you settle into your rhythm it becomes easy.

Recommendations

If something doesn't click for you, ask for help! They have a great IT task force and usually there is another way to complete the task anyway.

BrightMove has a horrible search function - it works about 10% of the time. Also, it seems to have a lot of down time.

Recommendations

Make sure you do a full demo for several days / weeks if possible before selecting this ATS.

This ATS is a a very easy system to navigate at anew. My first account after becoming a recruiter was so difficult to learn and without much help from their IT department when questions/concerns brought to their attention.

I love the hourglass type graph. I wish desperately that I could click into it in the sections I am working on.

Take the video training, it is time well spent learning about the product and you can snag some tricks of the trade!

After using several different ATS systems, I feel Brightmove is "almost there." With little advancements here and there, I feel Brightmove could easily surpass much of its competition. Things like hyperlinks on it's graphs and charts, etc.

It does what it needs to do, and it has many fields. By this I mean it allows you to track ALOT of data.

It is not intuitive to use. When power searching anything, it feels awkward to apply the filters. Also the system commonly has "glitches". For example, today I added a new job, and it added 3 of the same position and really confused the recruiters.

Recommendations

Be sure to be careful of creating duplicates for certain things like clients. We have so many duplicates and it is sometimes hard to figure out which one is currently active. Even the candidates which have duplicate prevention somehow end up with duplicates.

The viewing mode of the step we are in with the candidate - gives a nice screen shot of updates.

It seems to populate a lot of unknowns when we upload via email. Better capture of names on resumes would be great so we have to audit less.

To look around the software more when you aren't working but "just for fun" and it is actually pretty amazing all the other things you see that BM is able to provide.

Recommendations

Be sure to set up procedures that are company standards for using this program; it really helps with transparency of information if everyone is using the pages and options in the same way.

Easy to use. We had tried other vendors through our payroll company and decided to stay with Brightmove.

That you have to write the name of the applicant and the position applied for to submit it. This is time consuming when trying to forward on a large quantity of applicants.
