ChargeOver is a cloud-based standalone billing and invoicing solution designed for businesses across all industries. The platform offers functionalities including standard or customized reporting, a self-service customer portal, billing or invoicing set-up options, as well as branding options for billing-related communications.

ChargeOver gives real-time visibility into business metrics such as open balances, lifetime values, churn, recurring revenue and customer averages. Additionally, the platform supports payment processors so customers can choose the one as per their needs.

ChargeOver is PCI compliant and integrates with QuickBooks and Xero accounting solutions. Price is per active customer per month. Users can personalize billing, invoice communications, and configure custom emails based on customers’ actions. The solution is suitable for companies that run a recurring billing or subscription-billing model for the businesses.

ChargeOver offers guidance and training materials in addition to a phone, Skype and email support.

    The right solution for my small business

    I had a company handle my sales for several years, then the company was acquired and I needed to take over quickly. A friend told me about ChargeOver and the flat fee based on customers, since I was a little wary of other software that charged a percentage of revenue. The migration team have all been super-responsive and helpful in getting my systems over to ChargeOver. I could not be more pleased, especially because it has a lot of great features I thought I would have to sacrifice because of the lower cost.

    Pros

    A lot of functionality and value for the cost; Data migration team has been wonderful; The cost is a flat fee instead of percent of revenue; integrates with many services; Interface is clean and intuitive

    Cons

    there are one or two things I would like to add, but have been assured that the dev team is notified and may offer fix in the future

    Huge relief to FINALLY fine automatic recurring billing that works

    Saves us a huge amount of time chasing clients for payment and reduces non-payment or delinquent payment.

    Pros

    Really easy to use and navigate between customers, screens, subscriptions, payment methods. Integration with QBO is key for us, and works pretty well, though not perfectly. Some advanced functionality - for example around sales taxes and discounts for ACH payment - are really helpful. Most of all, I like that it WORKS without bugs (I was burned by previous software), and can be used for recurring payments, recurring invoices and reminders for folks that pay manually online or by check, and supports things like discounts, pro-rated charges, and invoices that contain both an installment payment (scheduled to run for a set number of installments) and a regular recurring subscription (that goes on in perpetuity).

    Cons

    Integration with QBO doesn't always work perfectly - particularly for sales tax, and credits back to client accounts.

    I don't have to have an employee dedicated to accounts receivable anymore. Customers can self serve and we don't have to remember to bill them individually. It is all automated

    Pros

    Automated email reminders and the ability for customers to change their own billing information is very helpful.

    Cons

    Poor mobile accessibility can be a deal breaker for most. It is very bad. I believe they are working on it and their customer support is incredible, but I spoke to them about it about 6 months ago and it's still bad.

    First of all, I like this system because I can implement it in both my businesses, the first one is a successful marketing enterprise where I am one of the investors and which exists more than five years already, and the second one is just my own private company with only eight employees which were open only about half of the year ago and everything still ahead. So ChargeOver is suitable for both this businesses. And secondly I like this software because of friendly supporting team which always understands your needs.

    Cons

    There is nothing really bad I noticed yet. I mean, everything is really fine, just take a look, pricing system is loyal to any number of clients that you have, supporting team, in fact, helps you, no lags no problems so, for now, I am satisfied.

    I like using ChargeOver. The service is simple, it fits well into our software and provides our customers with a convenient single payment system. ChargeOver helps me to integrate all my payment processor and simplifies control over receivables. We are using ChargeOver for our yearly product renewals. An excellent customer support team helped us solve our problems, and we returned to work very quickly. Also, ChargeOver is easy to install and integrate with your own services.

    Cons

    Sometimes with updates, user reports start to make mistakes, but they are always fixed quickly. We also wrote in support and the developers wrote us personal reports specifically for our needs.

    One of the biggest automatic payment software I've ever used. Before that, I tried about five before I found ChargeOver and realize that this is the best and exactly what I need. Very good support team, which effectively solves all problems. Easy to use, the software has many integrations. The main advantage is that the price is very affordable. I save my time and energy, while automating the process. If I make all payment transactions with customers manually, I would be lagging behind for several months in the productivity of my work. Thanks to ChargeOver everything is automated and fast, easy to see, even such nuances as whose card has not passed. Very remarkable time saving.

    Cons

    In general, everything is in order, but sometimes the payment system is slow. It will be great if the speed is better, it will make my work faster. But I like the idea of ​​raising our incomes

    We use this software at our SASS company to charge the one time setup fee but also set up recurring billing for all of our customers. When we do run into issues, the support staff is great at reaching out and resolving our issues.

    I've been using ChargeOver for about 9 month's. It has been the easiest to use that I have found. It is much easier to search for specific customers to see where they are at with their payments. I love the payment summary page which outlines the total opportunity. The recent History is awesome which tracks everything you have viewed recently. You can easily lookup invoices & Payments from the Home screen. Overall, my experience using ChargeOver has been awesome and I would recommend it to everyone looking for subscription and recurring billing.

    Cons

    Search struggles at times pulling up the right customers by keyword. Not all the time but sometimes.

    Before we switched over to charge over we tested 4 other recurring billing systems. Each one offered great promise but inevitably we always ran into a limitation which would not be a good long-term fit for our business. ChargeOver is easy to use, well thought-out and scalable. The team is responsive. We are very pleased that we made the switch to ChargeOver.

    ChargeOver's best quality is their customer service and willingness to answer questions even when the answer is staring right out at you in their well organized help and support documentation. We use the software to auto bill our customers and to process one time credit card payments. All automation works wonderfully and once you have everything setup how you desire, there's very little to worry about aside from adding new accounts. Really, our only complaint comes from the fact that we are a UX/UI design agency. We feel the user interface could be a little easier to use and more modern. Aside from that though, there's not too much to complain about.

    We first decided to use ChargeOver because it fit our billing system. We've stuck with them for two reasons. Reason one: Their customer support is top notch. Whether by email, or phone call, I get a swift response, and typically a swift resolution. Reason two: ChargeOver works. We were looking for a payment and invoice system, as well as Customer Management. ChargeOver fit us, and we're very happy.
