The approach was very collaborative throughout and we remained on track with the initial project plan timetable. Any configuration issues were dealt with quickly and the team have full buy in and confidence in using the system on their own. Report generation Reporting has been one of the biggest benefits. Datarails pulls our data together into one consolidated source, so we no longer spend hours manually gathering and reconciling spreadsheets. Management accounts, budget-versus-actual comparisons and variance analysis (with drill down functionality) can now be produced much faster and more consistently. Once the templates were set up, they are easy to roll forward each month and can be evolved over time. The software has already delivered time savings across the team. #### Cons The initial set up has quite a high degree of complexity and nuance. However, Datarails didn’t have tax tables available, and neither did our payroll vendor. We could have done our own research and built the tax tables ourselves, but the time and effort required to keep them updated didn’t feel justifiable. We went from having enormous, clunky Excel files to having a Datarails report package that could be refreshed instantly and didn't crash the computer. The onboarding support is very strong, and they strike a great balance of getting the work done themselves while also leaving enough to my team that we were able to learn the system so we're prepared for go-live. #### Cons It seems like there is a lot of technical work required on the back end to get everything to work the way it should. This comes with the territory of being such a robust program, but if I wanted to make a new report from scratch I think I'd need to rely on their consultants or dedicate a lot more time mastering the system. The widgets were easy to learn and build, and a great way of seeing quick insights to our data. Sometimes I would need to save the file locally and upload manually through the web environment. Also the limitations of being able to manually sync data from Xero due to the token limits. The company structure changed and reworking this was quite complex and has caused some bugging issues. Lastly we went through a couple of months with difficult communication and handover when I joined. It has made the monthly sale forecasting process easy to manage, control versions and automatically update rolling forecasts. #### Cons some of the standard widgets for the dashboards could look more visually appealing.
