SBS Financials is cloud-based software designed for multi-entity accounting. The system is flexible and adapts to an organization’s existing workflows. SBS Payroll/HR and SBS Procurement can be added to create an integrated financial management system.

Core accounting applications are general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliation, billing, fund accounting, budgeting, consolidations, and expense management. Deployment of the modules can be customized and configured to meet the needs of most industries. Dashboards, budgeting, and financial reporting allow for efficient monitoring and analysis of financials by cost center, division, or region.

SBS Payroll/HR is a comprehensive solution used to process in-house payroll, budget wages/salaries, and track ACA compliance. Employee Self-Service and Time and Attendance modules are available as add-ons. SBS Procurement offers purchasing, requisitions, approvals, and inventory management. Both suites integrate seamlessly with SBS Financials.

The SBS system serves a wide range of industries including healthcare, real estate, and finance.

I like the most is that it is easy to correct my mistakes. I also like that it is User Friendly that you can get the same information different ways.

Cons

The printing from the remote desk top and saving from the remote desk top take a considerably long time.

I would recommend SBS to anyone looking for a new Accounting System

Pros

The product is user friendly and the Customer Service is exceptional.
I love the AP invoice scanning feature (as do our auditors).
I also love the ease of creating new custom financial reports and formats

Cons

I would like to be able to void a series of checks, instead of just one check at a time.
I know that you can import a file to void, but an easier method would be helpful.

We have had an excellent working relationship with SBS for many years (at least 15 years I believe). The team at SBS is top notch, always receptive to our needs from any system issues to pricing.

Pros

The number one thing about this product is its ease of use. It is very intuitive. After the training phase, it has been nothing but smooth sailing. There was some apprehension when the switch to the cloud occurred but it too went off without a hitch.

Cons

There are occasionally transactions which happen which we are unable to explain, however your customer service team is always available to correct any of our mistakes.

a few of the staff member at SBS that I have had the pleasure of working with) are amazing. Although, we have been using the software for about 3 years and they still treat us like new customers by providing OUTSTANDING customer service. When we have a problem or question, we simply send an email to the SBS support group and a friendly staff member will typically respond in less than 24 hours our question and sooner if it is an emergency. SBS Financial Accounting Software has proven to be a wise and sound investment for our company.

Pros

The software is flexible and can be customize to meet your company’s needs. The products comes with a very knowledgeable, helpful, attentive, and friendly staff. They listen to their customers’ comments thereby providing enhancements to the software throughout the year, which improves the customer’s experience. Most modules are easy to navigate through. The documentation is useful and easy to follow. You can set the dashboard to your preference: Favorites, Documentation, Recent Task, etc.

Cons

Creating reports has proven to be a challenge for me because there is so much information available, but I'm not always sure which table to use to retrieve the desired information. However, this is still not a problem because the excellent staff at SBS will quickly guide you through the maze. They will (when necessary) even create the report for you.

Outstanding Customer Service

Once again the customer service you receive when you have a question is wonderful. Customer service agent will take the time to really understand the issue you are having or what you are trying to do to fine the best and most efficient solution. You can reach them by phone or email and will always return your call in the same business day (it is normally within one to two hours).

Pros

The customer service that SBS provides is by far the best service I have see from a software company. There are different modules to the program however, they are all set up similar for ease of use. I started using this system in February of 2017 and it was very easy to learn.

For all of the accounting software I have used they by far and away have the best support, training and customer service.

Pros

SBS provides great support and customer service. They are quick to respond and provide help and walk-through training's and there staff is very knowledgeable in multiple areas. Also their software developers do a nice job of communicating with accountants, which I have found very refreshing.

Cons

Documentation on processes and procedures is not easily available in the software, however if you call SBS they email the information right over.

Love Kim and the support team. Always helpful and rarely have to wait an excessive period to get responses/assistance.

Pros

I like that it is entry based so that any changes to anything have to be done by entry so everything stays in the correct period. Also great that multiple companies can be set up. Like being able to run checks on blank stock and the functionality of paying people ACH pretty easily.

Cons

In Bank book you make a bbti (in) entry or a bbto (out) entry for banking. Makes total sense - BUT that "I" and "O" are right next to each other and one can accidently get the entry reversed of what was wanted.

I like the requisitions approval chain. It is difficult to state pros for the system even after using the software for 8 months.

Cons

The entire software is not user-friendly and is not easily navigable without extensive training. Difficulty in just downloading useful information without calling SBS support. There is no such thing as a simple task in doing anything.

Cons

Reporting. It seems difficult to get reports out of the system. Especially from payroll. I don't really like the look of some of the other reporting.

In general it's a good program and gets the job done. We recently got the update and unfortunately some of the changes you made didn't apply to us and so caused a re-learning curve when the methods had been intuitive (i.e. more key strokes to move between certain fields). We don't use the software to it's full potential so I can't speak to all features.

Pros

I like being able to work ahead in the next period. The customer support team is top notch. The controls in place to prevent misuse are great for audit purposes.

Cons

I don't like all the multiple yes/no questions when you do something that isn't considered "usual" - a twice is good enough. Not an overly intuitive program. Not crazy about all the controls though know they're necessary.

For someone with the need for a multidimensional chart of accounts and intercompany accounting on a limited budget this is definately an option worth looking at. If you need leading edge functionality and reporting there are better options.

Pros

Developer is willing to work with you to solve custom needs.
The price is great and you get good feature set with a reasonably intuitive interface.

Cons

Its not as refined as other software (lacks some common features and there are a few small bugs)
Reporting is good but not as strong as competition
Implementation team helpful but not well disciplined so you will need to manage them to get setup complete and training done

The most unique and best part of SBS software is the step by step process the software takes when performing tasks such as payroll processing, AP processing and GL closing. Excellent!

Likes Least

Report writing tool requires a fair amount of technical knowledge which sometimes is a deterrent to our users.
But this can easily be overcome with some training from SBS.

Recommendations

Training, Training, Training. Ask questions up front, SBS is very good at providing detailed information.

Robust features make our job easier

We like all the features so it is difficult to pick a favorite. As controller, I smile every month at the ease of distributing the monthly financial packages to all 23 branch location managers with one click of a button. We import some data from a separate industry specific software that does our pay/bill and that is so easy and seamless. Among our staff accountant's favorite features are the AP import and ease of reconciliations. The SBS training and support staff have been wonderful and a joy to work with. We implemented the expense report module 6 months after going live and it was so easy. Easy is a word that keeps being used when describing the SBS software.

Likes Least

We haven't found it yet. We have been using the software for a year now and are extremely pleased. If we want to do something and can't figure it out we call Support and they guide us on how to accomplish our goal.

Recommendations

I recommend you ask lots of questions and have several demos. We were open to changing our procedures, which ended up working better for our accounting department. The SBS software has a lot of time saving functions, more than we realized but were pleasantly surprised when we wanted a function, it was there!
