Works great for payments

PROS

Set it up and forget it! Easy to set up and takes care of itself.

CONS

None that I can find as of now. I use during the summer for daycare. Set up one time and done for the year.

We use Tuition Express to process our weekly income and love it!

PROS

Tuition Express saves time and man hours. It is flawless in helping us acquire payment from each of our families. The creators and software managers at T.E. really know the world of Learning Centers and have created and maintain an effective tool for helping us charge for enrollment, registration, weekly tuition and other miscellaneous charges in a manner that is time effective and thorough. The customer service is top notch!

CONS

The turnover time involved in notifying us of a decline could be more immediate. We are not notified until two days after posting.

As to notifications on declined payments, it depends on the type of payment and the bank. With credit cards, you are notified immediately for Point of Sale transactions and same day for failed batch payments; however, for ACH transactions some banks report more quickly than others. You are notified about declines as soon as we receive a confirmation from the parent¿s bank. Also, sometimes the notifications are sent to the owner of the center, rather than the person who is responsible for making sure everything is reconciled--that¿s something we can easily remedy.

Customer Service is horrible.

Tuition Express was okay for what is worth. The customer service is horrible. When asked the agent his last name, I was told I don’t need it. Then I asked for a supervisor, and was told no, and hung up on me. The agent name was [SENSITIVE CONTENT]. I will never do business with Tuition Express again, and I advise others to find different software company’s.

PROS

The software is simple, but took months to be trained on. I’ve been paying for this software since March 2022, just able to use Nov 2022

CONS

The training time to receive a call to train on how to use software.

Great Software, very difficult to get customer support

Over all, I will continue to use Tuition Express.

PROS

Tuition Express provides seamless interaction between Procare and billing. The system is easy for my staff and our parents to use. As a business owner, it is great to be able to access the software remotely via the cloud. In addition, the reports are easy to pull and easy to understand.

CONS

I don't have a con about the software. However, it is nearly impossible to get customer support. There are always long wait times on the phone and when you opt to leave a message for an agent to call you back it is typically and hour or more before someone returns your call.

Valuable tool for payment processing

It isn't the cheapest but it makes up for the cost in the time you save by not having to manually input payments to the ProCare accounts. You can only book out charges two weeks in advance which is good and bad. I have no plans on ever switching as we are huge fans of ProCare and Tuition Express is a valuable feature that supports that program.

PROS

This software keeps us organized with payments and integrates with ProCare software so payments get posted directly into the parent accounts. If you have the ProCare software then Tuition Express is a must. It is a huge time saver.

CONS

It isn't easy to refund families if an overcharge occurs. We find it easer to just write them a check or post a credit to their account. This hasn't been too problematic but is a feature I would like addressed some day.

Fast, Professional, Easy-to-Understand

Wonderful experience with my customer service representative- or should I say expert. My questions were addressed with ease and I was even given tips and advice to make my navigation with the software even easier than it was before.

PROS

I love that Tuition Express is overall self-explanatory and easy to get used to. It’s a plus that their customer service is excellent and makes me feel confident that any issues or questions our center comes upon will be solved almost immediately.

CONS

If I had to choose anything to not love about the software is the small hiccups our center comes across when we need to update the system. Sometimes the “Update” button pops up even after we have updated already. It’s a simple click to get it to go away and thankfully it does not interrupt the program or any tasks we have to complete.

Grear ROI

Overall, my experience with Tuition Express has been positive. The customer service has been excellent as well as the product and results.

PROS

Tuition Express is easy to use and provides a great ROI! It helped our early care and education centers ensure that tuition was billed on time, the correct tuition amount was billed, that tuition was collected on time, and that proper late fees and discounts were assessed. This made budgeting and auditing so much easier. Parents appreciated the convenience of being able to make tuition payments with a credit card and being able to pay remotely.

CONS

What I like least about Tuition Express is the credit card processing/service fees that we are charged because Tuition Express is proprietary; it is expensive! We are a non-profit, 501 (c) (3) and our board of directors and auditors closely watch how much money is spent on processing tuition payments. As a non-profit, our funds are limited and are service directed.

Easy to Use

We are still learning about Tuition Express with Credit Card Options and am sure are not using it to the fullest extent. So far it has been pretty easy to use and parents are overall satisfied. There do seem to be some kinks here and there, like one credit card kept getting billed months later even after the child had been changed to withdrawn and had no activities in the billing box. If those can get worked out, it would be wonderful!

PROS

Tuition Express is easy to use. It has been time saving in collecting payments.

CONS

We did not realize that our center would be charged 3-3.5% in Merchant Fees when average is about 2%. If Tuition Express had a way of estimating that better during the sales process, we would have better accounted for the cost increase.

As to rates, they vary based on the type of transaction (batch processing versus point-of-sale) and the types of cards people use. We'll have one of our consultants get in touch with you to consider the best strategies for your situation. And, regarding withdrawn children, as long as the family still owes you money batch payments will continue to be made; however, you may disable processing for that account if appropriate. You may also opt to allow the parent to pay on their own through MyProcare (the parent portal).

Simple To Use

This software is easy to use for both center and families, but does have a couple minor issues.

PROS

This software allows our families to make payments on their accounts online. It is very user friendly and easy to use and set up.

CONS

It doesn't allow parents to use American Express or Discover as advertised. It also won't let parents see the entire billing charges line by line.

Easy to use & User Friendly

PROS

Tuition Express is very user friendly. My son's daycare uses tuition express as the platform to pay tuition weekly. As a user I have had to enter my banking information for auto debit as well as obtain payment records for Flex Spending reimbursement. Each of these tasks took no time at all to complete.

CONS

I do not have anything negative to say about this software. For what I was using it for it performed just as I needed it to.

Overall great product

Generally a great tool. Wonderful for keeping track of students and staff.

PROS

It's relatively user friendly. The fingerprint log-in is great.

CONS

It has so many functions that it can get confusing or difficult to find things because they aren't in the user manual.

Tuition Express Review

Before we started using Tuition Express, we had problems collecting tuition payments from some families. With the Tuition Express software, collecting tuition is quick and simple and we no longer have any outstanding balances. I also love not having to make bank deposits each week. It is a great time-saver.

PROS

I love that the software makes our tuition processing much quicker and less labor intensive than collecting cash and checks and having to go to the bank every week.

CONS

I honestly cannot complain about any aspect of the software.

Tuition Express

So far in the last 5 years it has been great and we really do not have any issues with the software. The Tuition Express customer service for the client is amazing and always willing to help and answer questions.

PROS

The software is easy to use and friendly. The messages when a payment has a problem, it is easy to notify the family.

CONS

When the parents call to complain that they cannot contact someone to ask questions on registration with TE. a customer service should be available for parents.

Our life was made simpler!

We have taken the man power out of collections. This system gives us automation. We are able to build better relationships with our clients because the money issue is solved.

PROS

Collecting tuition used to be a full time job for my business manager. Now she is able to put energy into other projects because we have streamlined the collection of payments.

CONS

I am pleased with this software. They do a lot of updates that sometimes interrupt service but they do them at off hours..

Tuition Express survey

It has shortened my workday, reduced the amount of accts. receivable every week, eased payments for our parents. Love that the parents know the exact amount of their weekly fees at payment screen. Has almost eliminated those pesky "left over" fees (extra meals, field trips, etc.) that parent's can forget.

PROS

It is very user friendly. For parents and staff that are not computer comfortable, it is very non-threatening.

CONS

No cons that I can think of. You have done a great job.

Best Customer Support and Techs

Recently I've had to contact Customer Support and found the experience quite pleasant. My issues was resolved rapidly and even the time I was required to wait it was not an unreasonable nor long delay

PROS

Even when I haven't used a function in a while, it is fairly easy to get results and steps through looking around the site. The Customer Service department is especially helpful.

CONS

I do have to carefully follow steps in exact order to get my desired results.

Overall our experience has been great.

PROS

This software makes it very easy to process payments. Clients are able to log in and process their own payment as well.

Clients have the availability to change the date the payment comes out.

Tuition Express for Large Childcare

I LOVE this program and how easy it is to use. Customer service is quick, friendly and thorough when needed. Parents love that we offer this program as well.

PROS

I love that this was so easy to set up and I am able to access and work on the accounts from work and home thanks to the cloud option. I am saving so much time not chasing money or manually logging checks. Parents can print their own records for FSA and Tax as well.

CONS

I truly have no complaints or suggestions for improvement. The parents haven’t had any complaints either.

Efficient and easy to use

The benefit of using Tuition Express is efficiency and ease of use. Every week, billing and collecting tuition is a breeze and can be done in minutes.

PROS

Tuition Express is a wonderful tool for parent payment processing. My school bills weekly for tuition and coupled with the ease of billing with ProCare software, Tuition Express makes the payment collection process seamless. The cost is also reasonable.

CONS

I have not experienced any real negatives to using Tuition Express. It is very straight-forward and easy to use. Perhaps the only improvement would be quicker notification of returned payments.

Tuition Express for Child Care Review

Fine once you get passed the learning curve.

PROS

I like that parents can make a credit/debit payment without our assistance. Allows us to focus on other tasks. I have had good experiences with both ProCare support staff & TE support staff.

CONS

I have heard the owner express disappointment in the cost vs not using the cloud version. I don't know specifics.
