Flowfinity is a mature solution. Our sales and on-board team were former clients, highly engaged advocates of the product, very knowledgeable, patient, and very thorough.

The main downside to Flowfinity is its learning curve.

The solution is highly intuitive and easy to use.

The customer support has been great too in the rare case that we get stuck with an especially tricky form.

This software helps keep team members collaborate from whate remote office or field they are in. I always like when they have a free trial or demo and tutorials.

Sometimes this can be painful as the application can't be modified for weeks.

New dashboard features are coming along nicely with optional TV licenses. Data is stored in MSSQL and is easy to push/pull for 3rd party integrations with legacy, reporting, or custom apps.

FlowFinity has been a great system and has enhanced our operations. It's easy to set up and seems to be infinitely adaptable to our business.

Though we are not a big client (less than 20 licenses) we were treated with respect, as important, and received amazing round the clock responses to both strategic and technical questions.

Flowfinity has been easily integrated in our daily business functions.

Cumbersome data arrays produced from the forms, which makes it unnecessarily difficult to query the database.

That we didn't start using it sooner. We tried other competitors and failed, but this deployment hit the mark.

The recent acquisition by Idera has given some pause to the community (there were a flurry of exits from long-timers as well) but so far it seems to be working out.

Pick it up and move it over. I can't emphasize enough how valuable these traits are in environments that do not have the luxury of time and money to continually retrain.

A lot of the power that Lansa delivers is hidden under the covers and this saved us a ton of money, time and hiring extra resources.

Web based interface make development much easier than on the green screen, plus RDMLX allows for greater field sizes and development tools.

It's flexible, intuitive, and can do make integration easy and FAST. Side by side, doing something in Lansa vs develop something in RPG or COBOL is 2-3x as fast and 10x more intuitive).

Visual LANSA has allowed our strictly iSeries environment to expand to allow web based objects into our integrations, as well as max field sizes beyond normal green screen.

Working with Visual LANSA has been great. It is so nice to use one tool for multiple platforms.

Not very much documentation or presence online when a problem occurs.

Ultimately satisfied our business and user needs.

As a programmer,  I like VL because it is easy to use.

The repository keeps everything organized and reduces code redundancy and the framework helps you get your application out rapidly by taking care of all the plumbing for you.

Sometimes task management can get confusing with objects checked in/checked out.

Used Lansa tools to solve new and or existing business flows and logic. Used Lansa to switch over from various legacy systems (G/L, order entry, sales etc...).

Poor Debugger, One must know the concept and language to use it, limited prebuilt wizards.

Can write as granular as needed for your specific requirements. Once that has been accomplished you can concentrate on UI design and coding.

Visual Lansa is easy for development and modifications, it is user friendly and intuitive software. It also allows interaction with various Microsoft products.

I also really like the developer friendly IDE and the fact that VL helps you with existing applications (as well as new ones).

To many ways to skin a cat with the options to tackle problems.

Visual LANSA is an integrated development environment (IDE) that allows users to develop and maintain cloud-based and desktop applications. Key features include application generation wizards, SQL support, data modeling and integrated compilers. Deployment options include Windows, IBM i and Linux, as well as cloud-based deployment.


Users can create cross-platform software through LANSA’s RDML (rapid development and maintenance language) and independent metadata repository. Leveraging LANSA’s portable metadata repository, users can create an application with access to JDBC, IBM i and ODBC- compliant databases.
