Community support from Mapbox is excellent. They care about good causes, non-profit work, and their official Community team makes a good faith effort to support them.Mapbox has what is probably the most functional and effective web basemap editor in Studio.Its documentation for app building is phenomenal, and its team makes strong efforts to keep it up to date, understandable, and usable for even non-developers. The API makes building single page applications, simple interactive dashboards and data visualizations a breeze. I wouldn't develop with any other tool.

Graceful degradation for smaller viewports needs more energy and development. End users demand some degree of functionality on their mobile devices - API provides options, but making maps work at even a base level can be very challenging.

With MapBox, I can easily monitor key metrics and make data-driven decisions to improve my project's performance.

The negative point of Mapbox is that if you have to use the Static Tiles API for example, the costs are quite prohibitive compared to the competitors, so this would be the only point of attention regarding the price.The big problem with Mapbox is the support, even if you are a big customer and you have a big monthly expense the support is very precarious and slow. It literally takes weeks or months to get the first response to your ticket. They don't make it clear that Support is "not included" and that to get faster service you need to purchase an extra support plan.The cheapest support plan costs 50 usd and this only guarantees you that the first response will be within 3 days. If you want some decent level of support you already need to move to a plan that costs 10% of your monthly spending and the minimum is 500 usd.Even so, the SLA is from 1 to 3 days, that is, you could be paying 500 usd to have a response only in 3 days, that doesn't seem reasonable to me.

We were forced to use it by CRO Software. They swapped from Google Maps (which works 1000 times better) to Mapbox

Its slow loading. Missing most road numbers. Half the terrain doesn't show up.

I was looking for a solution to display routes, and maps with customized "borders" and data.My first option was Google maps, since in my mind they were the 'biggest' but when I found out about mapbox and their capabilities I realized I found the best solution.The price is fair compared to the competitors and they offer a free-tier so you can start implementing features and only start paying once you grow your usage.

It has a great documentation, easy to set up, a lot of examples are available and the UI is really good.

In some features there where missing options, customizations and in one time I had to contact the support to ask to implement a small option, but they eventually did it.

Overall, Mapbox is an amazing software that can complete basically any job needed. That said, for the average user just looking to do basic things, it can be hard to use.

Mapbox is fully customizable to a level I have never experienced before. Mapbox allows for custom maps that can include as much or as little as needed. For example, components that can be added include administrative boundaries, buildings, land and water, natural features, place labels, point of interests labels, road network, transit, and much more. Additionally, color pallets can be added for further customization. This full customization is truly amazing.

Mapbox can be rather complex to use for someone just starting out. There is a rather steep learning curve. The software is so powerful and complex that it can make things hard.

As an architecture student and intern at a construction company, my experience using Mapbox was very positive, since this platform offers the necessary tools for the creation of interactive maps that complement the construction projects and architectural planning of the construction company, and helps me to complete my autonomous tasks on roads. Overall, Mapbox was a valuable and highly effective tool to enhance my work as an intern and helped me develop my daily freelance tasks at university.

Without a doubt, what I liked most about this tool was its powerful set of APIs and SDKs, this allowed me to easily integrate interactive maps into web applications and for road design (autonomous tasks) for the university. In addition, something else that I liked a lot is its high-quality and precise geographic data, since this was essential to carry out analysis and make informed decisions about map development, more specifically about roads.

Perhaps the only problem that I found with this tool is its cost, in my case it did not affect me because my university provided me with the paid version, however for other users who do not have the money, certain important functions of this tool will be limited.

What I like most about this tool is that it is in the cloud. You do not have to go through difficult installation processes like with similar products. It is easy to work, even if you are not from the GIS area or have another career not related to geography. I like the possibility of interaction that has the data on a map. It is perfect for presentations to multidisciplinary groups of people who do not know how to analyze a map, since the final products possess qualities that traditional digital maps do not possess. Mapbox has known how to evolve in the field of GIS, combining the ease and practicality of similar services such as google maps, with the precision and efficiency in editing and processing proprietary software data such as Argis. The best part is that it is open source.

It is a tool for online use, so when there are faults in the internet connection, obviously the quality of the mapbox service is limited. In addition, the tool has some free geoprocessing and upload functions to the cloud, but those of us working with GIS know that a map completed with its associated data base can weigh hundreds of MB, and that cloud storage space It is definitely not free and nothing affordable.

Not all third party application support this. Many do, but it could be a deal breaker if your already invested in something that does not directly support mapbox.

Il software è ottimo. Hai tantissime funzionalità partendo dalle visualizzazioni di mappe fornite tramite open street map quindi con dati completi. Inoltre gli stili (design) delle mappe sono perfetti.

Il punto debole del software è il prezzo ma se comparato con le funzionalità accurate offerte non è male rispetto ad altri competitors come maptiler.

Not fully supported Globe View. Seems like it will be an industry stardard to use Globe View in map products but it's still far from perfect, especially using custom layers and lacking ability to display data over poles.

We've been using Mapbox for about 4 years and 2 versions. we'll continue to use them moving forward.

Mapbox makes it easy to create custom-colored maps, but that's not where its power lies. Mapbox's API allows us to implement custom maps and pins integrating our data simply. The vector-based map is fast and integration is simple with their documentation

No real cons to speak of. You really need to be a programmer to work with mapbox though, lay people will find it challenging to implement.

Overall the tool is must have for an aviation industry. Developers must have this skill to plot and locate geographic data on interactive map.

Mapbox provides intuitive studio GUI for developers. Easy to design Maps for developers. Either use API for designing or use web GUI, both provide endless features. High customization, Programming Language Support, GIS application strong backend support, Large community support makes is most usable product.

Data Visualization and Geo location plotting requires more understanding of the code samples. No official support for major languages than JavaScript.

I've been able to make very detailed area maps of remote areas with historical styling and information

I'm definitely a more simplistic user of this platform; I mainly use it to create period maps and detail locations of interest. I know there is a much more in-depth side to it for power users. It essentially lets you create highly detailed and stylized maps, and even interactive maps. I can't speak for the software development side since I'm not a developer, but I know that it allows for you to create custom maps for your project using your own data, styles, and customer interactions, that you can then deploy in various settings.

I guess since it is aimed at developers, it can definitely be confusing to try and use if you are not one.

It's possible to use this application to create stunning maps without being a programmer, however with some knowledge building of your own you can really achieve some incredible maps. Looking forward to seeing how this application will really expand with creative users!

This mapping application is by far the most advanced tool for map development. It literally does whatever your imagination can dream up!

There is quite a steep learning curve but with some Youtube digging and tutorials for members there is a massive amount to learn if you are not familiar with basic programming.

Mapbox plugin was easy to add to both html code and wordpress sites. It has a nice set of layer styles that all look good.

The restrictions around Google maps plugin to web projects make Mapbox a google alternative. It is a free service that does not require attaching a credit card to use.

Mapbox is less detailed as compared to google maps in terms of showing building and their names in less known countries in Africa.

MapBox is amazing for developing interactive map software solutions. The ability to view and toggle 3D layers, their additional tools, and their visualization features makes MapBox one of the best map solutions out there

The price point for private applications is a little bit confusing.

I like how flexible it is - I can almost always get what I'm imaging to happen, without a huge amount of hassle, or without running into walls. It's easy to get up and running, and has a ton of API options.

The learning curve is pretty steep, and there aren't a ton of demo projects that you can take and run with. It's also not the fastest rendering in the world.

The ability to incorporate many different map styles in my React project gave me a lot of versatility. I found their docs easy to understand and would recommend anyone to try Mapbox if they are getting started with Web Map development.

I love the ability to call to the Open Street Map API and style the maps with the easy tools provided from Mapbox's Studio editor. Mapbox was easy to incorporate into my projects.

Mapbox is a solid map alternative to Google and Apple maps. Tesla uses it, Uber used to... It's nice for programming and customizable with good documentation for your own app.

It can be expensive (but I'm not the one paying it haha). The API is not editable, only the SDK is, so not the entire software is customizable, only some.

Pretty good. Did not encounter any major issues with service or software.

It provides you the ability to have the English language instead of local while zooming in real-time. A big plus.
