My partner!
This is my daily partner. I love Notepad++ and I can't live anymore without it.
Pros
I have so much to say about it, but I'll try to be short. I use it every single day, to read simple text files, edit CSV when other tools hide some problems, edit source codes of many different languages, view HEX (hexadecimal) representation of some binary files, paste text to use later, edit texts without formatting, convert base64 strings, check UTF-8 files and even play tetris. Yes you have a lot of plugins to do whatever you need!
Cons
Sometimes when you do a search and replace operation in a very large file (100MB or larger), apart of the very long processing time, you may end up with a broken file. And even if you undo the operation with CTRL+Z, the file will not return to its original state, you must close without save to preserve the file. But that is not a problem you should consider because it is not so common to edit such a big file. You can also do the operation in blocks, it works then.
Reasons for Choosing Notepad++
I guess Notepad++ is more convenient, also I like more its interface. You have too much power with Notepad++ and its plugins, I am very used to it.

Notepad replacement - advanced but simple
It has made traversing files and performing edits quick.
Pros
In need of a text editor that can do more than copy and paste. Notepad will highlight code structure, provides advanced find/replace functionality, multiple tabs and everything you could want in a text editor
Cons
There really is no cons to using Notepad++ over standard notepad.
Reasons for Choosing Notepad++
Much more compact. Although I might try v.s. because it allows better viewing of the files open which is helpful for editing multiple files (especially networked ones)

Love This
I use this for all kinds of things. I constantly have many documents open for review, notes, comparisons, more notes, lists, and other things I can think to use this for.
Pros
The fact that it automatically saves a temporary file until I perform a true save keeps me from worrying about whether or not I need to hold on to a note that is meant to be temporary. Also, the plug-in that allows for document comparison is fantastic.
Cons
I've not had any specific issues that I would call out Notepad++ for.
Reasons for Switching to Notepad++
Because notepad doesn't really have any features. Notepad++ is full of useful options for things I hadn't thought I'd need. The first most notable was the option to choose a language (software language) to display the text in. This will automatically color the text in a way to make it more readable for a developer who just wants to review/edit a document outside of a full development tool.

It's notepad on steriods
It's not bad it's really good for the text editor that it is.
Pros
Intellisence Open multiple files at once Edit multiple file types Can run html pages from application Highlighting of code collapse or expand code within a function
Cons
It's not an IDE, it's a glorified text editor. It's okay if you're editing a file here and there however I wouldn't use it for a main software development. I've lately just being using it to paste in small snippets of code that I don't want to loose temporarily and for taking notes and to quickly view other code files without opening an IDE for the particular file.

Editor plus than notepad
We used this tool in the past to manage XML files and configuration files from different systems.
Pros
This editor is easy to use with a lot of text edition and advance capabilities. It is a light in the CPU consume and also, have the possibility to add plugins with additional functions. It has support for some development code and file extensions.
Cons
This is an application for Windows only. Nevertheless, for me, it is the only problem of the tool.
Reasons for Switching to Notepad++
We use currently the VS Code to do the same that we do with Notepad++. One of the causes to do it is, the capability to use the VS Code in different SO such as Linux.
