Zoho Books is a cloud-based accounting solution suitable for small organizations. It features contact management, invoices, expenses, sales and purchase orders, project time tracking and inventory management.

Zoho Books comes with automatic bank feeds, collaborative client portal, accounting and taxing, online payments, invoice templates and analytical reports. Organizations can automate recurring activities such as billing, payment reminders, auto charge and payment thank you note.

Zoho Books allows users to manage multiple time sheets of different projects and tracking of reimbursable expenses. Organizations can also connect bank and credit card accounts and match automated feeds with transactions.

Zoho Books updates the quantity and value of the items sold and purchased. It sends the notification to purchase items when stock levels fall below a defined value. The solution has the analytical capabilities to provide reports of receivables, payables, cash flow, income and expenses via its dashboard. Support is provided via knowledge base and phone.

What i like most in zoho books is that you can add each customer info which is also like a CRM where you can customize the fields you want your customer profile should have. You can also add a sales rep for each customer for you to track the commission and performance of your sales representatives. It is easy to use giving you a description on each tab or link for you to know the function. Making an invoice is easy. Timesheet is also available for billable hours to be computed. It has a mobile application that you can download in playstore so you can access your books even if you are out working on field.

Cons

The web application can be slow while loading the dashboard. I also suggest they add more payment method.

I like how easy it is to work with Books, and sending out invoices is so simple - I can even do it on my phone, if necessary. Designing the invoice to look like we wanted was quick, and we can use different templates for different clients - which means we don't have to make one invoice work for several different scenarios.

Cons

Sometimes getting the different Zoho modules to work with each other seamlessly can be a challenge for me.

The best part about Zoho is the fact that it is Cloud based. It can be accessed from any part of the world. Secondly, the user interface is fairly simple and easy to understand. There are many useful features like inventory management provided by them which is a great plus point.

Cons

The mobile application of this software isn't up to the mark and it can be approved. Also, the way the data is shown can be made better. It can seem on the expensive side for some.

If you are planning on using ZOHO don't forget to check out ZOHO ONE, they packaged all of the greatness of Zoho into one package. I saved money by moving over to ZOHO ONE.

Pros

I've been a faithful ZOHO BOOKS user for 9 months, the integration with all of the other ZOHO Products is shear GREATNESS! I love how other outside apps can be integrated as well. Books is great for managing the estimates, invoices, work orders along with the expenses of your company. ZOHO allows you to customize almost every aspect of the system.

Cons

Don't have high expectations of the support if needed. Some days they are on it, others they lack the luster of greatness or even normalcy. Don't hestiate to call email or chat, if its something simple, they may fix it immediately or tell you it can't be done, only to later find out it can. Other days you'll wait for 2 days then get a call back from the same person and find out that one of the programmers fixed the issue.

Not worth at all. Very disappointing. Above all their customer care actually misguide, test your patience, & tell the same things which will be of no use. So, for UAE it claims but is NOT VAT Ready

Pros

Apart from good GUI nothing is pleasing.
Initially as all others they will try to help & show they are the most customer friendly.

Cons

1) For most of the queries the customer care don't know a solution.
2) Zoho Books does not have Input VAT Credit feature
3) They do not have Retail Invoice template, when asked, they say we are still working on it. We only have Standard UAE Template. If you need more fields/columns do it at your own risk, they even do not have anyone who can guide to make changes in the custom html template.

1. Compared to desktop based and other software price is high. There are many excellent desktop based softwares available at comparatively very lower rates.

2. In cloud based software despite enough security there is always risk of data privacy and data security.

3. QuickBooks online has some extra features specially for accountants which is missing in ZOHO Books.

Automates workflow very easily and an amazing dash board gives you complete overview of every aspects you had gone through including banks and credit card and an amazing client portal helps to maintain and track all transaction between business and clients and now VAT complaint too.

Nothing so far..reporting tags can be included in the basic plan and contacts numbers allowed is 50 for basic which can also be increased.

The only good thing is that it appears good value when bundled with Zoho One. Suits casual user or startups. If your business is bigger, look elsewhere.

Cons

Where do I start? I thought my previous invoicing software was bad, at least it worked. Zoho Books gave the impression that everything was integrated into a one-stop service. It is not the case. There is sort of double entry work importing Zoho Expenses into Zoho Books. Paypal integration stopped suddenly and resolved after a call to customer support. UI can be improved, especially notifications. 500 contacts under the medium plan & I can't delete old contacts I've reached the limit. So now, I can't add new customers or vendors. Will be asking for refund and looking for other invoicing apps.

I used Zoho Books for my own practice for 3 years+for a few of my Clients. It's fast and reliable, and developers are improving it very regularly - adding new features constantly.
I would highly recommend using it especially in the businesses that would also use other software from Zoho-like e-mail or CRM-they're well priced and are extremely cost-effective.

Pros

Zoho Books is lightning fast-miles ahead of the competition if it comes to the speed of the software. The actual user experience is very close to the desktop software.
Another good feature is its customizability - you'll find a plethora of options with Zoho, obviously designed with advanced reporting tools that come with Zoho Suite in mind.
What's important - importing and exporting stuff from Zoho is also very simple - that comes in handy if you want to switch to another software from Zoho, you'll be able to do it-most counterparts allow you to migrate data only partly.
Importing journals-extremely important feature-works flawlessly.

Cons

No integrated payroll functionality - small flaw, as you can easily import journals from the software of your choice.
Average bank reconciliation - filtering records is difficult, custom sorting as well.
No itegrated CIS solution.
No reporting directly to HMRC.

Love that I can customize my email templates that go out to my customers. I love that I can customize on how my invoices look and the design. My customers love that I use Zoho Books because It integrates with an all in One Payment Center where my customers can log in and manage their billing account(s). I like that the software allows me to track expenses along side my earnings and at the same time still invoicing and estimating my customers within their contact (accounts).

The highly rated feature of this software is the possibility of uploading receipts and having an electronic copy for safekeeping and documentation purposes. This is quite a good option for keeping records. This software has excellent support to its users and gets updates on a regular basis that is they continue to add new features. In order to keep a view on the progress you can view automatically generated reports in a graphical representation which is very easy to understand. They will also give you payment reminders of invoices so that you won’t miss any post-dated activity.

Cons

I don’t even get the point that even I can modify the invoices in this software or not, if not then zoho should add this option and if yes than they should make it easy to understand by any user. They should also add the option of copy to store company’s data in the system because this option is not available we have to keep paper records instead. They should make it a cloud based software because when you change the system you should face the difficulty of transferring data.

Overall, Zoho Books works perfectly for my digital marketing company. Online payments, invoicing, credits, client portals, many integrations, and much more. The few issues I have with the software are quickly forgotten about when you consider the low price tag.

Pros

- The price simply cannot be beaten. There are a lot of features for the monthly price.
- Bank syncing works well and there have never been any problems with linking any of the bank on my account.
- Invoice and email customization is sufficient enough to differentiate itself from competitors.
- Client portals allow clients to log in and see their billing history.
- Zoho books can integrate with many other platforms via their API and through Zapier.

Cons

- The interface is a little hard to follow sometimes. There is too much white with tiny little lines across the screen. Looks "out of focus" a lot of the time.
- Recurring expenses are not handled well, in my opinion. There isn't an easy way to see expenses that were auto-created for easy removal.

I found that Zoho books was simple to learn and start using, users do not require prior accounting skills. The templates are simple and straight forward, it is fast and supports multi users and currencies. The feature to create a portal for clients and suppliers is an additional bonus

Cons

We were unable to interface it with our previous accounting system in order to export data. So we had to input the historical data manually. Other than that it has worked great for us

Very easy to connect to your bank accounts, credit cards, etc. Had this up and running in a matter of a few hours with no prior experience.

Cons

Lots to learn in the application and requires some instruction to get your money's worth. Wish I had spent more time learning how deep the tool goes.

thanks to zoho books I can easily manage my money flowing in and out of my work and the most important thing that allows me to keep track of my well-organized bills.

Cons

I really do not have any problem with zoho books thanks to this software I can keep a reliable and safe accounting

Major benefit is I saved a money of GST filing.

Pros

Upload data to GST portal in one click. Then data export in JSON format. GST Calculations and Report are very easy to create.

Cons

no notification for every GST return. Need more work on different types of notifications. Also SMS notification is not available there.
