Auctria is a cloud-based bidding and auction management solution designed for small and midsize nonprofits. It offers website management, payment processing, bid sheets, donor receipts and reporting functionalities within a suite.

Auctria's website management feature allows users to create custom websites for every bidding event. The website allows users to sell event tickets and manage online registrations. The product also enables users to track information such as donor contacts, auction items and bid amounts.

Auctria features bidder automation, which allows users to manage registration, bid offerings and close-outs. The solution also allows users to manage auction-related documents such as bid sheets, display pages, gift certificates and auction catalogs.

Auctria allows users to manage close-out and handle payments, donations, tickets, products and receipts after events. The solution is able to support a variety of currencies.

Very happy with this purchase. This product has been such a great and affordable product for our auction.

Pros

The price is fantastic, and really cannot be beat. The software is intuitive and easy to use. It is cloud based and you can have as many users as you'd like logged in and working on it at one time.

Cons

I really can't think of any issues with this software. Maybe more personalized customer service, should you need it. But in two years we have only had one issue.

It took some time to understand the general layout

Pros

Full functionality, tons of features. Unexpected value. First time user, set up a website, silent auction, ticket sales, raffle. We had 450 people attend our event. With some help from tech support this was manageable. Support was patient, prompt, and even willing to make minor modifications in the software to suit our needs. The event was very successful.

Cons

I had a hard time understanding how to create the website at first. Reading the instructions might have been a good idea before I started.

Check out for our gala was always the most stressful part of the event. Auctria makes us look like pros. No more waiting in lines divided by the alphabet; any volunteer station can help any guest. There are no more piles of paper to sort and add the bids by hand. We honestly have very short lines at checkout which makes our last impression of the evening a good impression. In additions, we now have a great database of information about all aspects of our gala.

Pros

Auctria is so easy to use which is very important. My favorite feature is the amazing customer service. We've used Auctria for 4 years and Auctria makes improvements every year. They don't just make changes, they make IMPROVEMENTS. They incorporate the changes in a suttle way so we aren't completely re-training our volunteers every year, we just have to point out the new features.

Cons

The first year most of the credit cards were rejected because of the processor. The next year Auctria incorporated Authorize.net which enabled a variety of processors to work with Auctria. We used the processor we normally use for processing cards online and everything went smoothly.

Auctria was our first foray into online bidding at an event. People were excited to try it and then the ease of use for the end user at the event was superb! I can't say enough great things about the customer support--the user guide is helpful, but knowing I could reach out with questions and get speedy, in depth response almost immediately? Priceless. They are not charging enough for this product!!!!

Pros

This software is really fairly intuitive..and if you can't figure it out? Customer Support is bar none.

Cons

Hmmmm..good question, maybe that I wish I could have further customized some of the printing to match our theme/documents.

We use Auctria for our Auctions- silent, live and online. The customer service is incredibly responsive and the reporting makes it seamless to design your own or use a standard report. Kudos to the developers- you have our complete respect.

Pros

Auctria is by far the best software I have ever used. I started with them 4 years ago and have seen them progress to become a package that is so user friendly and functional that all those I train in the package wish the developers should take on other markets!

Cons

I can't think of anything that I don't like about the program.

The Silent Auction runs over two days as part of a multi-faceted event and many attendees are only here for the weekend. Speedy log-in of bidders is essential to avoid them wandering off to other parts of the event and being able to reach winners quickly greatly enhances the chance of actually closing the sale. The quick bid entry feature let us log in winning bids on about 200 items in 40 minutes, then emails went out and we had only a handful of bounced emails or bidders with no email to handle by exception.

Pros

It was easy to learn for those of us setting up the auction and we could teach people quickly how to log bidders in, record winning bids and close sales. Being able to both print and email statements saved us hours of time previously spent calling winning bidders not present at the close of the auction.

Cons

it would have been nice to have the document set up from a prior option available, but being able to have two auctions open at once made copying not too tedious.

The tech support is amazing! It's great to be able to send them a question and they get back to you as soon as they can and always with a fix!

Pros

Easy roll over from previous auction items to this year! Saved me a lot of time!

Cons

Only issue is not being able to get a fix number of bid slots to be the same for silent auction items.

Recently, I decided to host a one-time silent auction to benefit a cancer charity. I'd never done anything like this before. I knew I want to take bids online before the auction but had no clue on how to go about it. My first inclination was just to use Facebook, but I decided to do some Google research on the topic first. Google's most useful return was Auctria's user guide. There, I learned about "pre-bidding" and what all it entailed. I realized I needed an auction platform outside of Facebook, and, obviously, Auctria was at the top of my consideration list. What ultimately secured Auctria my business was their demo mode. I didn't have to pay for their service and merely hope for the best. I was able to use their platform before committing to purchase a license.


Auctria's service was reasonably priced and user-friendly. The one time I needed Auctria's Customer Support Team, due to a bone-headed mistake on my part, they resolved the issue within minutes.


My silent auction was (shockingly) a terrific success and that was in no-small-part to Auctria's platform.

Pros

Pro 1: Auctria allowed me to test their platform with their "lite license" before committing.

Pro 2: Auctria's platform offers many features, including features I did not even realize I needed until my fundraising project was underway.


Pro 3: Auctria's user guide was very detailed and allowed me to tackle practically every problem I encountered when creating my auction site.


Pro 4: When I did need to contact customer support, they responded quickly and resolved my problems efficiently.

Cons

I did not encounter a con on this platform.

We had two technical problems we couldn't figure out, both times, vendor responded within hours to better explain how to use the software, or why we were having issues. Great customer service.

Pros

Very easy to import items, and images, and run auction. Web templates make it easy for you to customize the design of the site. Great to be able to choose website name, time zone, and send custom messages and statements to auction winners.

Cons

There was some confusion for users on the buy it now feature, but we can work that into instructions better on our next auction.

We have a very large charity auction once a year. About 130 Items. Because of the ease of imputing data, the checkout is quite rapid and our guests are very happy.

Pros

The software is very user friendly. It is easy to move through the programs with little or no training.

Cons

Would suggest some more reports to be available with regard to donations.

Very good. We have used Auctria (formerly Charity Auction Organizer) for many years now to run our school fundraiser auction and the software has continued to be improved year over year.

Pros

The ability to manage the entire auction from start to finish using one software.

Cons

The event ticket functionality is overly-complicated and it is too cumbersome to try to allow a couple to bid separately on the same bidder number in an easy manner.

A smoother event for our foundation

Pros

Ticket sales integrated with auction, and the ease of transitioning the online auction to the paper auction with display pages and bid sheets

Cons

Usability for guest enrollment was a question. A few guests made errors during enrollment, usually related to capturing guest names...not surprising or a major concern. However, there was also a scenario where bidder numbers were duplicated when users registered more than one guest...we assume it was usability or scenario related because it only happened occasionally.

being able to duplicate the entire auction from the previous year is super useful. It allows us to keep all the repeat items and save time on keying them in again.

The customer support is very fast, thorough and very useful. instead of searching the on line catalog you just type your question.

The auction functionality is not located where you would think it would be, not very intuitive thus you have to search more than you should.

Help desk was very helpful and gave prompt replies. They have added new functionality every year that makes the site more useful. For example, we used the thermometer this year in our email promos and I could see that it was a good motivator!

Cons

Not really a con, but I have asked that they add the ability to upload a file or attach one of their own (like a gift certificate) to the Send Email function without having to create a new web page for each attachment.

I retired from a career of managing a team of programmers who created software for a Fortune 500 company, plus a part of my job was choosing and implementing software from various vendors. The support we receive from Auctria exceeds any that I experienced in my 35 years in the business world. As a volunteer now for a non profit, I could not be happier with both the quality of the software and the exceptional customer service. Highly recommend!

Cons

I wish for more robust reporting. It would be nice to have the ability to create formulas in the reports. Also creating the format for communications, bid cards, displays, etc., is challenging for some of our users who do not have previous experience.

I like that you can have a website, sell tickets and manage auction in one cohesive place. It made it easy to manage inputting donors and items.

Cons

I don't like the check in feature as it is easy for volunteers to click around outside of simply swiping the credit card. Other software doesn't require the CVV which Auctria does and that adds to check in time. It would be nice if there were a kiosk type mode for check in.

It is possible to disable the CVV requirement on the 'credit cards' page, but I'd hesitate to do that: you are more likely to see rejected credit card charges if this information is missing.

For a kiosk mode check-in, are you looking for something that the guest themselves would use to check-in, or just a more streamlined experience for the volunteers?
