Pros

I've been using AutoCAD for 10 years, and although I use Revit and ArchiCAD on occasion, AutoCAD is still my go to program for the majority of our drafting projects. The user interface is easy to navigate, the hardware accelerator speeds up object navigation and the built-in features are unparalleled.

Cons

You need a good computer, ideally with a stand-alone graphics card, to reduce the loading times when navigating through your open files.

Superb program for drafting and creating designs.

Pros

A superb program! Its user interface is so simple that I can say it is a very user-friendly software. I am using this program for creating 2D and 3D designs needed on my projects. It is a very striking computer aided drafting and designing software.

Cons

Autocad is a striking program, I am waiting for further updates soon. I just need to be ready for budget too, although the price might increase but it is worth it.

Autocad eliminates the conventional process of drawing 2-d drafting sketches and makes my work easier by simply converting all y 3-d models to 2-d sketches.

Pros

I am a mechanical engineer and I have been using AutoCAD since 4-5 years, it is the most essential tool needed for all your industrial 2-d or 3-d needs. I used most of the time AutoCAD in combination with creo as AutoCAD has one of the best drafting functionalities. It is also a wonderful tool which makes my 3-d design ready for drafting into 2d sketches which I can then send to vendors for further processes. It also includes different textures and lighting systems which I can use to aesthetically build my designs and make it more realistic.

Cons

Autocad has a very restrictive or limited options in 3-d modeling which is sometimes very rigid for any professional designers.3-d designs for modeling in autocad is sometimes very annoying in autocad as it does not give much functionalities and flexibility to work.

Pros

I love AutoCAD. I think it's simple to use and user friendly. However, I have not used it for 3D design which I prefer Solidworks. I believe it's much easier working on 2D designs in AutoCAD than in Solidworks.

Pros

It's very efficient and helpful in using the program for designing 2D building and plant layouts. The user interface is simple to use. It has a search tab which allows you to find commands so efficiently. I love it because it saves time when you cannot find the proper feature. Lastly, the units are arbitrary. So, you can virtually create anything and set the units later.

Cons

Since I have always used Solidworks, I am more accustomed to the shortcuts there. Therefore, when I hold the scroll wheel it doesn't do an isometric view. Instead it drags the design. I don't like how it changes the orientation of the design.

It is really a very useful software, also its dwg format is very versatile to import it to other complementary softwares, it is very precise to measure and work with very rigorous metric parameters.

Pros

It has a great variety of commands that I think are perfect for the development of projects in 2 dimensions, some commands are very efficient and make the drawing work much easier, the files are very light and working in layers and thicknesses of lines improves the performance of the software.
The polyline tool is perfect for the work of projects with many lines and vertices.

Cons

The 3d modeling was useless, the commands are very little elaborated in that area of project development, some commands must be improved to draw on the z axis to draw contour lines easily from a 2d view.
