Fantastic CRM! We just can't afford it yet....

There are a lot of comparison sites out there to compare features and functions. You need to skip all of the marketing hype and just give the top rated CRM's a try in order to make a decision. That is the only way you will know what fits best with your company. If you have campaign taste and can afford it, you can't go wrong with Salesforce. If you have a small budget and can't put the bulk of it into your CRM, there are other great free or low-fee alternatives in the market.

Pros

If you need a full function CRM, there is nothing out there better than Salesforce.com. We wanted to use it for our start-up so we set about evaluating every feature we knew we needed and took note of those we weren't ready for. There is a plug-in for every other app were use and interface linkage to every process we created. You have the ability scale as large as you need to with Salesforce.com and the learning curve is lessened because there are tons of training tools and videos. You can't go wrong with this as your CRM if you can afford it!

Cons

In the end, we couldn't pare down the functions small enough for our start-up. We needed to start very small with the ability to grow and and functions as we needed them. In the end, we just couldn't afford the base CRM as a start-up. We had to go with another vendor simply because of the monthly cost vs the features we actually needed.

Pros

Great for tracking status of your customers. Very customizable and great integration with other applications like mail chimp. Easy to use across many different platforms (desktop, ios, android, etc.)

Cons

If you have a problem or if you want to talk to a customer sales rep, you will have to wait. It's very hard to speak with someone unless you want to buy something.

Sales Tool Enhanced to Not just meet but exceed campaign goals

Ease-of-use

Functionality

Product Quality

Customer Support

Pros

What i like about Salesforce is that as soon as you sign up it walks and guides you through the application by giving you a step by step instruction on how to manage your pipeline’ , increase your sales and know your opportunities. It has a complete feature which functionality aims you to meet your goals in a given timeframe. What i like about the software is that there are pages that when you hover your mouse to a certain contact itll give you a preview or information about the lead. No need to jump from one page to another making it easy for you to take a preview of what happened to the contact. Also it has a drag and drop feature to categorize your opportunities or contacts and prioritize possible sale to meet and exceed your goals.

Cons

A lot of features and tabs with different functionality. You have to really be trained and well knowledgeable on the tools in order to get the best potential result that will meet or match your campaigns sales goals. An experienced agent on crm and related software is highly recommended in order to meet goals not just on sales but on the number of contacts or opportunities per hour.

As a nonprofit, we get a certain number of our licenses for free. Their customer support is always available and very friendly

Pros

It is relatively easy to use. There is an app that can integrate into it. The program can be used for many different functions. We use it to track grant proposals, both accepted and rejected. We also use it to track all of our donors, their history of giving and our history of asking. We also use it to enter expense reports and to collect many programmatic data points.

Cons

The app is great, but the free version needs some work. I believe it is a beta version. It is great for uploading info on the go, but the free version tends to crash

The user interface is vastly improved compared to the classic version of Salesforce. I find that I am more easily able to get from one page to another and view more information on one page.

This may be fixed soon, but the editability has suffered as a result of the update. They will need to improve the experience of editing fields to be more in line with what people expect from a normal text editor.

Customer Support

I think Salesforce is a good product, but it needs several improvements. For as much time as it has saved, it has also added additional time in completing tasks.

Pros

Salesforce offers a great one stop shop to get information on a Clients account. It is also a good place to find out where Client projects are at. Another great feature is the ability to store attachments on projects.

Cons

The search feature brings up too many results, often times having nothing to do with the project you are working on. It's also very slow moving from screen to screen. It could be easier to add attachments.

Value for Money

I believe it is probably a great tool however, it would be nice if it was more user friendly and there was a was to use the software without having to enter duplicate entries, and it needs a more simple way to learn how it works. It took an extremely long time to do daily tasks that I found it counter productive.

Pros

I liked that it is one of the first CRM systems that I became familiar with so it had credibility. It was capable of doing many tasks and was useful for keeping track of prospects and clients

Cons

The things I liked least about it the amount of time it took to become familiar with it. Oftentimes the instructions were confusing for an average guy with an MBA in Business Administration.

Hopefully someday. We can access this tool even without an internet connection.

Pros

It's a great tool for small businesses. who wants to track their marketing revenue daily, weekly or even monthly basis. It's customizable in a way that you can input necessary information you want. I may say as well that the best thing here is that no one can use this tool since you need to put your own log-in credentials whenever you want to access it.

Cons

What I don't like using this tool is that You can't access it without wifi or data connection. This tool can be accessed only using laptops and computers.

Understand how you will use Salesforce when you are buying. Figure out the business problem you are solving and buy the right solution. They can help with that.

Pros

I love everything about Salesforce. Have been a user since 2002, and watched the company grow and the solution evolve into a robust platform. It is easy to use, flexible, adaptable and has great training. Customer support is world-class.

Cons

I do not like the Chatter feature - there is too much going on and it is confusing. Simply too much info for me, but others like it.

Salesforce works great as a standard CRM to store client details, log email and log calls. You can have multiple users which is perfect for a team - particularly so if there are multiple people in contact with one customer.

Pros

This software does, for the most part, do what it's designed to do. Ultimately, it acts as a CRM to store your customers / enquiries details and information. Once you've gotten your head around how to use this software it is reasonably straight forward.

Cons

My biggest "issue" with this software is that it's not the most user friendly. Unlike some of the other market alternatives, accessing information you store within the software isn't always easy. For example, if you log a call and later want to review this information you can click the call and open it to review notes, which is great, but you have to click each call individually to view the notes which makes finding a specific call note quite a challenge. Other market alternatives, work in a similar way to a social media feed. Where all the calls, emails etc logged are in chronological order and you can just scroll through until you find the one you want without having to go through each to find out what the logged call was about.

The Trailheads program allows general users, admins, and developers a means to learn more about different facets of the system, such a great resource, best part... Trailheads are free!

Cons

It can be confusing once you begin as each company will probably have it set up differnently so bringing knowledge from one company to another may be a mute point.

It's not very easy to make changes to the look and functionality of the software and it's virtually impossible to get to speak to a person in customer service. Lead creation and management, account management, Opportunity management and sales are all tied together in a meaningful and productive process flow.
