MemberClicks offers a configurable, cloud-based software solution to small associations and member-based organizations.

The system can stand alone as a membership website and social community or integrate with an existing website to help users handle membership management, new member applications, communications, event registrations and more. MemberClicks stores data, generates reports and lets managers add users to groups and set their permissions for access to members-only content. The suite of applications also provides email marketing, donor management and volunteer management capabilities.

MemberClicks’ event management module offers tools for creating custom forms that collect registration and payment information, while its dues collection module allows managers to create payment schedules and securely collect dues renewals. The software’s online social community and directory module includes messaging capabilities, notifications and photo galleries with tagging features.

Enjoyable to work with but doesn't have all of the features that my organization needs.

Pros

Excellent Customer Service. An actual person is always available to talk with. The help as always been very knowledgeable and easy to work out whatever the issue is. They always follow up with an email of instructions of what we did to the database, so I can refer back to it.

Cons

Doesn't have a report to track data from year to year. My organization needs to compare different levels of tickets sales and membership levels from year to year. There isn't an effective way to do this with Memberclicks.

Pros

The system is very easy to use and follow. Generating reports/ conducting searches is a breeze. They are constantly making improvements based on customer feedback.

There are slight restrictions certain things but nothing that can't be easily worked around inconveniently.

They are a great company, but in terms of streamlining, they didn't have what we needed in order to streamline our association needs.

Pros

Customer service with this product is amazing, I can reach them by email, phone or submitting a ticket and they're quick to respond. When they don't have a solution, we explore options together. They offer a lot of features and functionality.

Cons

With a lot of functionality, comes a lot of training and knowing what each and every detail does. Though they are excellent at responding to the "why" I had to become an expert in their product myself - it's not an intuitive platform at all and you really need to know what you're doing, and how. Doesn't work with Canadian taxes on their forms, so we had to come up with an alternative way to do this, and then capture it in QuickBooks, so it creates double the work.

A Great Way To Organize Personal Information

MemberClicks has a clean interface, easy to read, easy to follow. We used it at Hollywood Post Alliance to keep track of our membership and those who would purchase tickets to our organization's events. Easy to search information, easy to follow the trail of receipts and purchases.

At the top of the personal information pages there would be a box to check if you wanted to keep a member "active". Every time you made a change to the webpage the box would uncheck automatically. If overlooks checking this box, the member would disappear from searches, and one would have to go into the hidden information page to find them again.

I felt this was poor design for the software, as the box wasn't prominently displayed and didn't stay checked. It was a hassle, and I dealt with it often.

More than that, there was no safeguard against someone who was a non-member filling out information and paying for a ticket at a member discount. It took time, energy, and attention to ensure that everyone who purchased a member-price ticket for our event was actually a member. This could have been automated. It would have saved us hassle.

Recommendations

MemberClicks is a great way to keep a searchable database of members and non-members who work with and around your organization. It lets you track the history of their purchases and is easy to update their information within your database.

It is a strong way to sell tickets for your event, especially if you rely on your membership to purchase tickets. I would suggest being aware of the "active" box being checked when updating membership information, knowing if your membership drives ticket sales, because if you rely mostly on non-members for your ticket purchases there are several steps non-members must take to register and then sign up (this often tripped up people on our ticketing page.)

Currently there are a lot of limitation on invoices, event ticket reporting, and historical data reporting BUT MemberClicks is launching an entirely new database in 2015 that should resolve many of these issues.

Recommendations

Memberclicks database organization is people oriented. That's great, unless you also have to track companies. Tracking companies is difficult because you have to know the name of the person associated with the company to be able to pull up the record. Also, sometimes tracking event registrations are difficult because if someone registers for someone else under their profile, that record won't be associated with the member.

Recommendations

Consider how often you'll need to track companies or organizations. If it's not much, maybe Memberclicks is the right solution for you.

Staff is very quick, knowledgeable, friendly and able to point out how to do things or workaround things that currently can't be done the way you were thinking. Most functions are very intuitive and easy to figure out on your own.

There are some quirks and room for improvement as with anything. I'd like to have more options in the way the database integrates with multiple users through the forms.

Recommendations

Figure out what you need the software to do for you first! Once you have that figured out, go over it with the company you are considering and make sure they clearly show you how their software will conform to your needs.

We had to make a quick transition from an existing AMS to another system, and do a build out in less than 6 weeks. Memberclicks was with us every step of the way. They paired individual staff trainings with video and webinar content to get us off the ground, and built out the major pages for us in advance. Instead of taking 500+ staff hours to get the site up and running, we completed everything in less than a week. When we were making the switch, we interviewed 5 potential providers, and Memberclicks' team was far and away the kindest and most helpful. Lots of AMS providers can offer bells and whistles - and Memberclicks competes well on all those metrics. But the most important thing for us, and trust me, for you, is customer service. Memberclicks wins hands down every time when it comes to service.

I honestly can't think of anything we don't like. We've used 3 different systems, and this is the only one that doesn't make the day grumpy.

Recommendations

1. Make sure that your provider has HTML snippets you can grab for professional looking emails. Unless you can code, it's hard to make even the nicest editor come out right on the other end unless the code is properly written. Memberclicks has code snippets for everything.
2. Make sure your provider has a membership database structure that makes sense for your group. Memberclicks has a parent-child system that makes it easy to renew whole companies all at once.
3. Check with current users about their level of satisfaction with customer service. Memberclicks has the best customer service I have ever encountered, and I would caution anyone against going with a company without feeling out their help team.
4. Be sure to view all the features on the front and back ends; the build-out templates; and examples of their work on other sites. You'll want to get an idea of what's possible & what's not. For example - make a list of all the widgets you're looking for like sliders, RSS feeds, calendar widgets, etc. - and ask which ones are included, which ones cost extra, and which ones are not possible.
5. Carefully export everything from your existing site in a sortable and organized way. Good info out = good info in = good info out again. Ask the new provider if they can offer help with this process.

The software is easy to use, but if you do have a problem, the Help Team is awesome and is able to help right away in most cases. Online registration for our conferences goes very well, and reports associated with registration are very helpful. Also, the renewal process has worked very well for us. The reminders are easy to time and edit. We have increased our membership by more than 15% since we started using MemberClicks. I believe most of this can be attributed to MemberClicks' renewal process and our user-friendly website (also designed by MemberClicks).

Sorting and searching for invoices could be a little easier. I also wish there was a report for tracking the number of renewal notices sent and number who actually renew.

Recommendations

Look into the ease of updating the website, creating forms, registration process, renewal process, tracking payments, customer service and support, payment fees and general reports.

It is a great tool for small associations who want a nice layout of content and who manage a database in the back-end. We also can see quickly the forms that are linked and those who completed it, and we can send a message to users. The Newsletter and Messages also can be viewed with Open Rates, which helps us see our impact. The customer support is incredible, and they have helped every step of the way from implementation to random questions.

It lacks clean and easy features, such as a better calendar that can be shown in pop-up or used on mobile devices. Newsletter creation, media manager and social community are all pretty cumbersome.

Recommendations

Look at the UX of other clean/flat websites and implement features that help the user. The synchronization of database and pages is good, but it can be improved.

Overall Memberclicks offers me exactly what I need for my clients. I am looking forward to trying the mobile app for one of my clients!

Pros

I am the director of meetings and member services for two associations. This product keeps all of my membership and conference attendance in one easy to use place. I am easily able to contact any of my members or attendees. This software has made it super easy for my members to renew their membership and register for events online. One of the most important aspects is the customer service. If I ever have a question or problem, the customer service team is extremely helpful and knowledgeable. They are just a quick call or email away! I also feel that the team is always working to improve the features and really listen to the clients requests for additional features.

Cons

I feel like the software is down more often then it should be. Memberclicks is always responsive when this happens but it usually happens at a time when I really need access.

It easy to use for someone who wasn't using any sort of CSM before. And the parts that were more complicated to learn, were easy to navigate once you poke around a little. And customer service is only a phone call (or an email) away. I've never waiting more than 2 minutes when calling the help desk. Always helpful!

Cons

As a staff of one, I could have used more one-on-one time once on-boarding was completed. Having said that, my one-on-one on-boarding specialist was most supportive. If I asked, she found time to chat with me whenever I need anything.

Using product for two months and feeling frustrated

I did not have a positive experience with my on-boarding specialist. There was often confusion about appointment times; work that was promised was not completed timely; in fact, some of it has still not been done and we have been live for two months. When the system went live, renewal notices were sent to all my members and they were only supposed to go to the ones that had lapsed. My Board of Directors approved the rather large expenditure to purchase the system and then my credibility was impacted when I had to explain why members that had already paid for the year, were receiving a bill. Even though I had put in writing to the on-boarding specialist that the renewal notices for 2019 were to go our in November 2018, they went out September 1st. When I questioned this, I was told there was a bit of confusion. Thank goodness the help team members have been responsive and have tried to help sort out any problems.

Pros

As the director of a member based association, I contacted my fellow directors in other states that were using MemberClicks to ask about their experience with the product. They all recommended it noting just a few problem areas. I had an amazing demo experience with a very knowledgeable and friendly staff person who sold me on the product. Having the ability to track membership, generate invoices and track payments was a key reason for choosing the product. I hope that in a year's time, my comfort level with using the system will be such that I can realize the benefits we envisioned when purchasing the product. I will say the help desk staff are very responsive and accessible.

Cons

I have used other AMS products in other jobs so I have a basis for comparison in terms of what these systems can do. I would like to see MemberClicks streamline the creation of notices for members. For example, right now I have to create a notice for every single type of member (e.g. notice about payment of dues). It would be much easier if I could create a notice and then click which members it applies to rather than having to copy and paste the info into 8 different notices. Also, I know there are videos and staff available by e-mail but it would be helpful to have a guide or instruction manual that includes step by step instructions, rather than having to search through a bunch of articles. Also, I would love to be able to produce membership and revenue reports.

The real super stars here are the customer service representatives. They are so incredibly friendly and patient with me. They provide such excellent customer service and if they cannot fully help me right then, they always follow up with the right answer. I tell them every time I call that they have saved me over and over again by offering 5-star tech support. Simply put, I could not do my job without the awesome team at Memberclicks.

Pros

Memberclicks has a lot of capabilities that I am not even aware of. It's pretty mysterious how it all works from behind the scenes.

The benefits of using Memberclicks is the the security and the customer support. It would be nice if Memberclicks offered more options for paying through their site since Payscape/Moolah is very costly to a non-profit association.

Pros

I have worked with both the Classic and the Newer platforms. Also, I like receiving daily activity emails.
I like features of both - however, overall ease and looks from the Admin side, I would say I like the Classic much better. Classic is easier and more pleasing to look at.

Cons

The newer platform has too many features that are not used by our associations. I do not like searching for what members recently updated. No activity emails. This platform is just too much to work with and not as user friendly.

The transition to memberclicks was intimidating at first as I am not a website or software expert by any means, but we also desired a solution that put more control into our associations own hands to change things on the fly and to find a solution that hosted email in house as opposed to paying for an external email provider in addition to our web hosting provider. With a little time and use the functions are becoming second nature and we are able to accomplish tasks in a fraction of the time it took with our previous provider. I would recommend memberclicks to any similar association looking for more control that is easy to understand and maintain.

Pros

The administrator's abilities on the back-end are very robust and user friendly and provide little need to contact memberclicks' helpdesk. But when I have needed to, because we needed some functionality set-up that was outside the norm, they were quick to troubleshoot and find a solution that met our unique requirements.

Cons

I do wish images could simple be uploaded into an email or to the landing page without first needing to be added to the media folder. Not a deal breaker, but just an additional step. Fortunately our association emails are not graphic heavy.

I've been very pleased with the software. As others have mentioned, it is constantly evolving and new features are being added, many because of user feedback. The web-based interface is easier to use than the older, desktop application, which is being phased out. The trainers and support staff are great. There are even conference calls every other week to go over new features and to answer clients' questions.

Pros

MemberClicks has all the features and functionality you need to manage and grow your membership and is especially suited for chambers of commerce. Because the software is so multi-faceted, there is a bit of a learning curve getting up to speed, but MemberClicks provides excellent online training videos, support and even regional, live training sessions which I highly recommend.

Cons

MemberClicks provides a Weebly-based website that works with the database. This is a great option for companies with staff that don't have any website/technical training, but can be limiting for those that have that knowledge and training. Fortunately, we were able to redesign our website using Umbraco CMS, working with a local web development company. MemberClicks staff worked with our local company to flow the database-driven elements into the new design. Now, we have the best of both worlds.

This software has made my job a million times easier. Automating our renewal process has freed up lots of time for us to focus on other areas. We've been able to simplify our meeting registration process as well. I work for a small organization, so having such time saving tools has really helped us out. Their customer support is excellent as well.

Cons

It's a good thing the customer support is great, because you will need them a lot at first. We didn't have a lot of guidance when we first started using the software, so there was some trial and error with finding out how to implement this best for our organization.

It is nice that it takes care of our website, email addresses, event registrations, databases, and more.

Pros

It does most of what we want it to do. It is very easy to use and the help desk is always willing to help, which is great for companies with just a couple of employees who may not specialize in website coding and such.

Cons

Sometimes you need workarounds to get what you need.

Overall, we are very happy with the system and the improvements that keep coming. The customer service and ease of contacting Weblink with any issues we may have.

Pros

Weblink's finance program and events program are amazing. When we switched over in 2010 I went from over a week of reconciling our larger events to just a day or two. And the process for entering deposits was a real time saver also.

Cons

Not being able to run a report on value of investment. Also, the integration with Constant Contact and tracking those emails without duplicating the processes.

We were seeking a platform that could integrate a lot of our functions that were not in one place--ie, we were using one software to track members, another to track events, and yet another to invoice and receive payments from our members. This software has allowed us to streamline our operations by bringing most of our daily functions into one software platform, and has allowed our team to do what they do best-- service our members!

Pros

It is perhaps the most comprehensive software out there in terms of managing a membership database. It not only allows us to store and track basic member data, but also allows us to run registration for events, process payments, create and track different member groups and committees, segment our members according to membership level, track communications with our members, and allows us to communicate with our members relatively easily and seamlessly. If you are comfortable with SQL it offers extremely robust reporting options to view and segment member data in just about any way possible; even if you're not comfortable with SQL it has the ability to build reports, and includes a lot of pre-built reports that are helpful. The best part, however, is the customer service provided. They are always extremely prompt and courteous in responding to questions or issues, have a very robust online help section, and are always seeking out ideas for improvements and enhancements to the software. I've never dealt with a software company that so eagerly seeks (and implements!) the feedback and suggestions of its users!

Cons

As with any software it has its quirks and glitches. Things will stop working for seemingly no reason, but will be resolved in the next update. Reporting can feel a bit clunky at times, especially to those not comfortable with SQL.

Ease of use-- my company has used several software programs prior to WebLink to manage our database and events, and they were very counterintuitive. WebLink has been the complete opposite and even our most non-tech savvy employees have been able to learn how to utilize the program. There is also a FANTASTIC customer support team for when we do have issues with the software who are able to address our problems very quickly.

Cons

One of our biggest issues with WebLink is day-of event capabilities. The events module has worked well for us for the set up of the event, registration, and payments-- we just haven't found the events module to work well for day-of activities, such as quick check-in and adding walk up registrations. We use a 3rd party software/mobile app specifically for event check-in that we use data from WebLink to populate. It's very unfortunate because we have to manually mark attendance back into WebLink to keep our records accurate in the database.

We have only been using Weblink for 8 months and still have some things to implement like single sign on for our members to their Weblink portal and our own member portal but the fact that such integration is possible is a definite plus. Great CRM with a large degree of flexibility. A great pool of canned reports but not some areas lacking from an accounting perspective.

Good value for money!

Pros

A very user friendly solution, particularly for those less savvy users. Support is the best that I have ever worked with; they really listen to what your needs are and quick with assistance and solutions. The billing process and ability to auto-generate invoices and/or import data for invoicing is wonderful and saves so much time. Ability to set up for multiple companies and ability to fully document transactions, communications, conversations etc.

Cons

Lacking a lot of the finesse with respect to the "accounting" side of things. Historic reports include adjustments for an invoice made in a future month - i.e. the Revenue report for the month of June will include adjustments that were made in July. Lack of ability to set up commission programs. No direct interface to Sage.

Cons

You need to have an IT background to understand most of the reports and how to get around the software. It's frustrating most of the time for someone who doesn't speak the language.
