Workfront (formerly AtTask) is a cloud-based project management solution that helps teams to prioritize, route, manage and report on their work. It is suitable for businesses of any size and industry including IT, architecture and accounting.

Users can access a library of standard reports or customize them to meet an organization’s needs. Workfront offers tools to help visualize the work lifecycle so users can maintain project schedules and budgets. Users can drag and drop tasks to assign them to team members, shift assignments and organize workflows through the visual interface.

Communication tools allow employees, account managers and executives to collaborate, assign work, track deadlines, check status updates, deliver work and manage reviews and approvals. Resource management tools allow managers to assign tasks, track performance and allocate resources. Methodologies such as Agile, Waterfall and others can be implemented with Workfront, and the platform is designed to scale along with company growth.

Using this software is easier for our teams in the workplace to collaborate on projects because everything is already in a systematic order. Everyone, from our clients to our team players have the access to the projects that needed to be pondered on real time. With this, our employees tend to be efficient and effective in their assignments since the platform is easy to manage and user friendly. It helps us achieve our goals and do our tasks within the expected timelines. With it being user friendly, even our non techie associates were able to learn how to use it a short period of time. Cons

Since we are busy people and most of us would prefer to have our work on the go, I have tried using the mobile version of the software. The first version of the application was actually better than the newer ones because some of the notifications in the newer version were gone once you refresh it, I almost lost a data but then the support center was kind enough to help me retrieve my file. I also hope using the application in my mobile device will not reduce my phone's battery faster. It works better in the web than in the mobile device.

Workfront takes time and effort to implement, but anything worthwhile should. Workfront's team has been very helpful to us and really cares that we earn a win for our team.

Overall Workfront is a helpful routing tool but there are definitely some improvements that could be made. It's pretty fast to upload and start a new proof route once you're comfortable with all of the various settings and have determined the best way to set up the workflow with your team.

Pros

Once you get the hang of it, it's an easy-to-use, e-routing tool. It allows you to set up folders and sub folders for projects which helps keep you organized and access proofs later on. It has a lot of really handy features in review mode which help my team catch errors such as the side-by-side comparison and the overlay functions.

Cons

There are a LOT of nuances with this tool making it difficult to train someone on. If the right box isn't checked your whole route can get messy and out of order. I wish you had the ability to put a person on a route more than once but it doesn't allow that. They also randomly, periodically change the interface. Just as my team gets used to using it they change it all around and it takes longer figure out how to access the tools all over again.

Pros

Online proofing markup system. Project organization, management, and status updates. Direct communication with managers, etc. File sharing. Job history and archiving.

Cons

A little clunky and possibly confusing. Some users input task information in the "Notes" section instead of marking-up the proofs. Important info can be overlooked this way, causing errors and misunderstandings. Also, some comments appear as tasks when there is no further work to be done.

But with the solution of the problem you will need to wait, because there are a lot of requests, and the processing goes in turn.

Cons

Be prepared to get a lot of email notification so that your inbox will always be cluttered. And, for sure, customer support could be better and faster, because for now, I fix many problems by myself without using help from tech support.

Pros

Ease of opening cases and ability to communicate through completion via the tool OR email. Also the ability to see status on my items - open or resolved.

so far it has been great, do not really see switching from it anytime soon, easy to use and easy to mange is always plus!

Pros

i dont work with the software on daily basis, but a large amount of my end users do, and they all seem to enjoy using it and tell me it makes their work easier. I mange the software on back end, and its really easy to set up, add users, remove users, and transfer their data to another users should they leave which is really nice and helpful. also the ability to have full users and guest as well is nice, so don't always have to burn a full license.

Cons

sometime they run into issue with proofs and routes issue, usually support is pretty good from workfront so they get solved in a timely manner

Our department has been using Workfront for about 4 months, and its implementation has been quite a challenge. Four months into using it, we're still trying to streamline its features and capabilities to suit our needs. We're growing accustomed to it, but it has been a frustrating process.

Pros

Previously, our marketing team used Workamajig for project management, so Workfront has been a major step up. User Interface is aesthetically pleasing; communication under project "Updates" is similar to social media interaction among team members. Extensive tracking of projects, tasks, proofing and file exchange/uploads.

Cons

Some of the same things listed above in *most* liked can almost fall under this category of *least* liked. Workfront has so many capabilities, it can be a challenge to streamline them to fit a team's specific needs. Examples: Tasks, sub-tasks, Updates under the main job; updates within the job's tasks; tag a person in one location for them to see your comments; but don't have to tag them in another location; upload a proof in one location – assign team member as Reviewer/Approver, etc – but then try to add comments on the proof ad it gives the option again to "Approve this Job"; leave that checked or un-checked? Inability to adjust project due dates on the fly without it affecting everything within that project. The list goes on and on. Those examples are written in a jumble nonsensical fashion on purpose – to illustrate what it feels like trying to navigate Workfront on a daily basis.

There’s no better way to increase your company’s influence on a market with the help of software than by installing Workfront. Despite the fact the program still lacks of many things, it represents EPM and CRM in the best possible way. With that being said, I highly recommend trying this tool out to everyone. Workfront was implemented by us not that long ago, so we haven’t been able to evaluate its capabilities fairly enough yet, but in general the experience of usage has been enjoyable. I find this piece of software to be efficient at solving business issues, as well as at managing communication with customers.

Cons

I really wish that was it as for disadvantages, but recently I have found out about a decreasing efficiency of dashboards and features that are opened with creating them. Would be good if this particular issue was dealt with by developers as soon as possible.

Our experience has been amazing. We have one system to take in all requests and it allows us to track every detail of our projects and keep things on track. If I had to find a project management tool all over again...I'd still go with Workfront. Every time.

Pros

Workfront is the total package. Where do I start! The extreme customization of the platform that can be done on my own is excellent. I have been able to tailor our request intake forms to be exactly what I need it to be and gather all of the information needed to complete our projects. In addition to that, one of my favorite features is the proofing tool. You can proof nearly any file type you can think of, you can annotate proofs and utilize automated workflows to take the guess work out of determining who's next in the review/approval chain, and you have a solid "paper trail" regarding who is providing the approvals and when. It makes my life much much easier!

Cons

This is one of those pros that is disguised as a con. Workfront is an incredibly robust system and that makes getting 10/10ths out of it difficult. There are so many things that can be done, but it is very hard to exploit it for what it's worth. To get the most out of your instance of Workfront, you really need to have at least one person solely devoted to being a system administrator. Someone who will be able to spend the time necessary for learning and implementation.

Our team can master many tasks much faster, without losing the quality of performance. Workfront definitely worth it to start working with him. A little time to get used to and understand what you want and everything - you get the best results that are only capable of. You will be able to solve a lot of trouble that was undesirable for you.

Many users probably missed those tools that could turn out to be extremely useful for them. I am sure that refining the search engine definitely improved the entire work of the application.

The appearance of the application that is displayed directly in the user interface is very pleasant in appearance and intuitive from the very first hours of operation. This is really not bad, because in previous programs I worked with before, even this was done poorly and uncomfortably. Control of all tasks, even while working simultaneously, runs smoothly and cleanly. I can track all the processes that may interest me.

Cons

As I said earlier, the user interface allows you to become familiar with the application of particular difficulties. However, this does not apply to the search for internal tools. It is unpleasant to realize that at the beginning of work it will be necessary to spend precious time searching for only one function.

I have recently started using Workfront at my company and I am enjoying it! It's a great way to track your personal to-do lists as well as upcoming tasks for projects. There is event a calendar view which is easy to reach and tells you what items you have coming up by week, day, or even hour!

Cons

As I am a new user, I do not fully understand how to use the "messaging" functionality yet. I find myself not understanding how to look for these conversations or where to file them. I also wish there was an easier way to add full distribution lists to tasks rather than adding people individually.

Workfront has an exceptionally good customer success program. From solution specialists to user forums and beyond, you are supported throughout.

Pros

Workfront offers the best suite of services, automations and support for the creative marketing organization. I recommend it for high volume production management, both planned and unplanned. The client management tools are excellent and keep WIPs from escaping too soon. The performance data is easy to capture and customize.

Cons

This is not an easy solution, but it is the best. That means the creative organziation is going to have to invest time and money into implementation and training. Marketing managers will need training on the client side, too.

Overall, I think it's a solid platform. If the calendar feature worked a lot better, then our whole marketing dept. could use it, which would be ideal. But until then, it's working great for our creative services team.

Pros

I like how it's clear who's role is assigned to different tasks within each project. Our design team uses it daily to track large and small projects. It's easy to keep up with where you are in the process, and it notifies people when they have a task due. It allows for easy uploading of docs. It's simple to communicate with team members within the platform. I'd recommend it for project mgmt, but not for editorial mgmt.

Cons

Our editorial team ended up getting a different software because the calendar function within Workfront is horrendous. We could only view our deadlines in a list form, that didn't organize itself chronologically, so it was very hard to see all of our work at once in a way that made sense to us. Don't use this for content creation/mgmt. Use it for workflow/project mgmt.

As a project manager for a large company, Workfront has been a game changer for us and my project teams. There are honestly too many features and integrations to comment on. They are excellent and when used together produce a very strong product.

Cons

Because of all the features and integrations, the learning curve can be a little longer than what I am used to. However, it isn't a bad thing to always be learning new things.
