No More Internet Connectivity Issues on Podcasts!
Overall, I really like Riverside for remote podcast recording. Both audio and video quality is great, and though I haven't tried them, their new AI features look very promising!
PROSHaving used both Zoom and Riverside to record remote podcasts, it is clear that Riverside's system is far superior for this kind of work. I've rarely had any issues having clients or guests use Riverside for their podcast recordings. the video quality is always great, the audio quality is always great, and being in control of things as the "producer" allows me to ensure the call goes smoothly for everyone.
CONSI've noticed that the paywall seems to be shifting as of late - a few less features available for the price that I'm paying. And once or twice I've had recordings disappear. Sometimes support is able to dig them up, sometimes they arent. But that hasn't happened in a while!
Reason for choosing Riverside
A friend recommended it, and I liked the features so I said "let's do it"
Reasons for switching to Riverside
Recording issues, glitches, low quality.

Much easier than Zoom
Overall, Riverside has been a great option for recording content and it's great to see them rolling out new features.
PROSThe interface is much easier to use than Zoom and has been a positive experience from both a producer end of things, and as a guest. The video and audio quality are always strong and makes for a great end result. The new transcription feature has also made it really easy to repurpose video recording for clients, and provide them with accessibility in the form of text.
CONSThere's no way to ensure that the podcast guests sticks around to ensure the recording is uploaded. I do my best to front-load this and to remind them, but it would be nice to have a safeguard for that. I know that you can re-send them the link to continue the upload if they do leave, but having a bit more friction to prevent them from leaving abruptly would be a nice feature.

Perfect For High Quality Video & Audio Podcasts
I used Riverside for about two years to record a podcast and it was easily the best product in terms of audio and visual quality. The reason the quality was so good was the way they record the audio and video to the local computer of each member on the podcast and then upload the files to their "cloud" which you can then access, download onto the editor's computer and piece together for a whole "show." The biggest issue I had with Riverside was that it only worked on Google Chrome. This is a minor issue, but seemed to be a frequent enough issue with guests that they had to download Google Chrome. Again, minor issue, but I ultimately found another platform similarly priced that worked on multiple web browser.Bottom line: If you want the best video and audio, Riverside is your best bet. If you are more concerned with being able to use any web browser then looking for an alternative is a better choice.
PROS- easy for guests to join podcast- excellent video and audio quality- backup and transcripts
CONSOnly works with Google Chrome Sometimes download of audio and video is not properly synced

Super easy and high quality audio recording
I love the high quality local recordings that mean that even if the internet connection is slightly choppy during a recording, the eventual output is super high quality.
PROSI first used Riverside as a guest on someone else's podcast, and was won over by the ease of use. When I launched my own podcast, I selected Riverside partly for that and partly for the audio quality.
CONSOn rare occasions, it has taken one or two goes to get up and running smoothly with a guest, but there's every chance that is something to do with the guest's technical setup.

Great For Video Clips
The transcript based editor is incredibly easy to use, cuts out audio silences, and does not have a video upload limit. Also, the ability to set up a Youtube link is a huge bonus!
CONSSometimes the silence detection is not quite right and needs a little bit of tweaking. Also, it doesn't support copy/paste of either clips and/or text.
