It's the best value of any tech I've ever worked with because of the quality it delivers. When you think a feed is broken while recording, it isn't. And generating graphics is actually fun as their AI engine does exactly what you ask. #### Cons I honestly can't say much negative. Incorporating AI directly into the process is the challenge everywhere. Overall, it's been wonderful. I had zero experience podcasting and was doing very little editing prior to being referred to Riverside. The magic editor cleans up my audio beautifully, and adding graphics, inserting video, and using transitions are easy! Editing the transcript directly is an incredible tool. I can easily identify sections to remove, and it's not hard to refine grammar or spelling so that my subtitle file is correct. Speaking of subtitles - being able to download the file with time stamps, access chapter marks, and have a complete transcript changes the game for podcasting overall. It's so easy to create show notes and summaries! The Riverside AI also creates good descriptions and titles when I need them. The new motion feature has been helpful, too! I also appreciate being able to post directly to our YouTube channel, instead of downloading and uploading 40+ minute episodes. It's great! #### Cons I tried hosting my podcast on Riverside and had an issue importing all of my past episodes. I believe it was partially my fault, but the support team was not helpful. However, my rep, Sandy, was kind and assured me they would work harder in the future! We are currently still hosting on Buzzsprout. It's easy to record and editing has gotten a lot easier. #### Cons It's still very glitchy. We I'm editing the buffering sometimes drives me mad. i don't know if it's them or my wifi connection. And when I used the VideoDub to edit a word in a Magic Clip it also changed the word not just in that clip but in the longer episode and I didn't like the way it sounds. Couldn't change it back. #### Vendor response Kelly, two years with us and noticing how much the product has evolved — that genuinely means a lot. The VideoDub behavior you described, where editing a word in a Magic Clip also affects the full episode, is a really specific and useful bug report and I want to make sure our team sees it. It is my favorite platform to use for producing video and audio at this time. I have used others in the past, and I've gone back to check them out now and then, but I come back to Riverside. It is the easiest and fastest to work with so far for us. I love that they offer videos explaining anything new they have. The AI creates show notes with very few, if any, errors. The editing tools are amazing. Being able to tweak the sound quality is easy and really helpful. Lots of options available for making a podcast or video what you want it to be. The value for the money is great. I like that I can create all kinds of projects, and it's AI creates snippets of video for social media. I may go in an edit it a bit, but overall, it does a great job. #### Cons The most frustrating thing about Riverside is really a small thing that just drives us crazy - when they update, things move, and we spend way too much time trying to find the export button for our finished videos and audio. One week it is one place, the next it is under a drop down menu that did not contain it the week before. It's a little thing that causes us so much angst. The ever-changing dashboard is annoying, but having the new updates and upgrades is pretty cool. Occasionally, the program glitches and just won't let us inor shuts down mid-recording, but that hasn't happened lately with the newer updates. It did happen a few months ago way too often. I think they must have fixed the problem. #### Reasons for switching to Riverside I just found Riverside easier to use. I had fewer problems with Riverside, and it offered more. At the time, Zencastr didn't offer as much, and Descript was more complicated than Riverside, although they are very similar. I also love that it offers magic clips which helps with social media posts quickly and easily. #### Cons The customer service I find to be both helpful and frustrating. I do not like taking things offline, I'd rather take things all the way through to the end during an online chat.
