It is setup quickly and up and running in less than 2 hours. It is easy to administrate and also very easy to use on a daily basis.

We have had a very positive experience with the tool. The ability to integrate with multiple virtualization platforms and manage all of them in the same way has been really great.

Our interaction with support has been wonderful. They periodically contact us to see how things are running and they answer any questions and resolve any issues we may have.

Cohesity is an amazing platform that greatly reduced out data management and backup footprint. I really like the ease of use and ability to have one place to go for all of our data protections needs.

Cohesity has been excellent to work with. The local team is always helpful and responsive, support is excellent, and the product exceeds all expectations.

I don't agree with their method of releasing updates or the lack of a notification system regarding those updates.

Also, it is a compact four node system and has integration with several other vendors like VMware , AWS, Azure etc.

Cohesity has allowed us to move to a global backup platform that has modern cloud based capabilities, enabling a more flexible and cost efficient architecture.

My biggest complaint is, there is no Cohesity sponsored user training. Many other software businesses offer some user training.

Unfortunately, it often happens that bugs are delivered with updates.

Cohesity was for us the perfect solution in providing back-up as a service to our customers. It is easy to scale, easy to configure and very easy to manage.

Additional analytics on data, combined with a great scalable solutions gives  everything needed for solving secondary storage challenges.

No centralized credential manager. No global options for backup exclusions - have to manually set options for each policy you create.

Ability to centrally manage and assign storage shares has been a great addition.

And the setup and install of Cohesity was seamless. Choesity support is one of the best support teams.

At first some of the features were missing that other vendors were already offering but Cohesity have caught up.

Application backups (Exchange, SQL, AD) will all require an agent and the agent management is very poor in my opinion.

Being able to centrally manage and protect our data, as well as the advanced security features to protect from ransomware attack, helps us all sleep better at night.

We had issues deployment but that was related to the servers. But cohesity support was very helpful and did a great job.

Cohesity has been very easy to install with an intuitive interface. The development team is adding new features and growing capabilities.

It did so without any issues (even on the virtual edition). The elastic search functionality is impressive and really helps us locate everything we need quickly.

Cohesity has been a quick and easy win for our department. Setup and installation was quick and we were able to start backing up our VMs and legacy NAS devices.

The overall experience has been great so far. We were able to get multiple admins up to speed how how to recover files and databases with ease.

Their support team started very small and I usually got the same 2 or 3 customer service reps. Now they are much larger but I still get the 1-on-1 attention I need from their team.

Our journey with Cohesity started about 18 months ago and we are still so happy with the product. It’s working perfectly, it’s still fast and reliable as from day 1.

For the time I had an account I never used it because it was frustrating and difficult to figure out HOW to... after I quit, the customer support was good at reaching out to me to ask why.

Sometimes the messages that you get about backups can be misleading. It will say that you have a certain amount set for backup, and sometimes it will be a number that seems really low.

Overall, the potential for the program, and the idea seems great. But unless you have a huge bandwidth or pay for extra it's difficult to use for a some business owner like myself.

Ability to set backup frequency and retention policies. Customer service is outstanding.

I liked what I saw, did some research, and decided to jump. It was money worth spent especially for the peace of mind it brought for protecting my files, pictures, and music.

Overall I think it's a great price and great product. Once setup, runs quietly and consistently in the background.

This is one of those software that you are glad you had, especally when you lose your data.

The CrashPlan administrative portal is fairly easy to use, and it has many great features.

I get a simple email telling me if the backup was successful or not. I recently had to use their customer support and their instructions were PERFECT.

Which it did for me when my iMac died and the restore I did from my Apple TimeMachine backup was incomplete. I had lost a bunch of files.

There is no easy way to cancel. I had to keep disputing charges with my bank until they cut off my account.

Data de-duplication seems to backup lots of files efficiently even if you re-organize your folder structures. Upload and download speeds are generally good.

Great once user's commit to configuring their backup.

The ease of use for deployment of the application to a laptop and or desktop is seamless. The dashboard is very easy to use and has useful information right on the main page.

Every time I have looked into this with support, it has turned out that the correct amount WAS set for backup, but I believe the email went out mid backup, and therefore gave a misleading message.

I used Crashplan for several years and found it to be an excellent reliable product.

Simple user interface for backups. Very cost effective solutions for backups.

Enterprise class features like (Active) Directory integration and storing encryption keys on-site while using cloud backup.

For the price it's one of the best offsite backup services. Speed seemed fine as long as you have a good connection.

Worse still, if you move or delete a large number of files in a short time the app treats your computer as a new device and starts charging you for two devices resulting in being charged double.

Strong encryption, compression and an easy to use interface make using the client a pleasure. Documentation is very detailed and easy to read and follow along.

We have been using CrashPlan for almost 3 years now and it continues to impress as an endpoint backup solution. The true beauty of it lies in its stealth, simplicity and reliability.

Overall though, I love CrashPlan, and recommend it to many people.

It is a good back up system overall and has a free version. It can back up an entire network from a windows server.

CrashPlan is a cloud-based application that works as a storage platform. It can be operated from any internet connection at a given point in time. It keeps a continuous backup of all the files that are in the home directory of a campus based system. The data classification offered by CrashPlan is the maximum of "Restricted".


The software also provides restoring platforms from either a client’s workstation or the CrashPlan website. For activation of the software, a user only has to login to the app using their BearID and password. As soon as the user logs in, CrashPlan starts creating backup of all the files in the system. Computers that are used for departmental work like a student workstation or a research system, require the CrashPlan account manager to log into the account on the particular computer  to activate the backup service for the device.
