Easy to Use HRIS
I love Bamboo! Very happy with it, and excited to see what the future holds.
PROSThe product is very easy to use. The customer support is incredible. The system is aesthetically pleasing. Bamboo listens to feedback and is always updating and releasing new features based on customer feedback.
CONSSome features are not the most robust. Time tracking and reporting specifically. Bamboo does not have built-in scheduling. The employee notes feature could be more like applicant notes (replies, attachments, email notifications).

Bamboo HR, a slick but severely limited recruiting software
As stated, the BHR system is a recruiters dream and makes the talent acquisition process easier for those businesses that are only using the job boards to get applicants. Just don't expect much more after that.
PROSThe look an feel of BambooHR (BHR) is amazing! Its almost like Facebook for recruiting. It is very intuitive for what it does and offers to the administrator and end user. The applicant tracking system is very easy to use and goes the extra mile with automation and thoughtfulness concerning on-boarding and then " flowing" into the core HRIS. The BHR system was chosen by a previous HR professional that clearly had a recruiting bias. Although important, more vetting should have been done to make a sound choice for long term success regarding the needs of a small to mid-size business.
CONSBeyond what I described above there is limited functionality without also purchasing and integrating other systems through a "bolt-on" approach. By "Bolt-on" I mean that BHR will not automate between the core HR system of BHR and a timekeeping system, a payroll system, benefits administration system, leave administration system. The ability to have a robust system is possible but is not practical or cost effective with BambooHR. In order to get a full platform, covering the full life cycle of and employee, through BHR, a business would have to pay upwards of 30-40 dollars per employee per month. Simply put other options are available and far more robust with better long term results for less money- See my review of APS Payroll for an example.

BambooHR review.
I have enjoyed more than other employment programs used and makes you a human resource manager. What I mean is, create records or temporary employees

Great tool of you're an company that doesn't have any visibility into the org

Amazing Customer Service, Always Looking to Improve
Overall we have really benefitted from Bamboo. I think the next big thing for Bamboo would be to offer a scheduling tool within the software. They partner with another company in this as an alternative, but I believe Bamboo could utilize their amazing innovation and forwarding thinking capabilities to create a great scheduling tool.
PROSWe love the customer service Bamboo provides. 90% of the time I have someone helping me within 2 minutes. And they always know the answer. If what I am wanting to do is not an option, they push it up the line and a group reviews these requests constantly. Bamboo is always looking to improve their product, which I appreciate and I want to be a part of a company that is always looking forward to the future's possibilities.
CONSOur main issue is with payroll. We would love to utilize it, but you can only have one tax ID. We have multiple tax IDs for multiple locations and employees cross over between them constantly. The work around was for us to have multiple Bamboo accounts to accommodate for the multiple tax IDs. But this is not cost efficient for us.

We needed a more rounded system that offered more than just time tracking.

"The Ultimate HR Solution: Streamlining HR with BambooHR"
BambooHR is a user-friendly and efficient human resources management system that streamlines many HR processes. The platform is intuitive and easy to use, with a clean and modern interface. PROSThe PTO features of Bamboo, which have taken the place of the pen, paper, and excel sheet system that their team had previously utilized, are the writer's favorite features. With Bamboo, managers who have access to a calendar indicating who is already absent from work may submit and approve PTO requests. The team appreciates having their PTO data centralized in one location without having to get in touch with the writer directly thanks to this tool, which has saved them time.
CONSThe only disadvantage I have observed with Bamboo is the lack of customization options for certain features. Specifically, I desire more control over the calendar, such as the ability to add more items or modify automatically generated entries. For instance, if an employee requests only an hour of PTO, it displays on the calendar as a full day off, which cannot be altered.

Manage employees efficiently
Making human resources management easy and managing recruitment processes and communicating with them is also very flexible, and this helped develop many administrative aspects of the company

Easy to use
I was impressed by BambooHR's comprehensive HR software solution that is tailored for businesses to quickly and easily manage their employee information. It has a great selection of features that enable you to monitor vacation and sick days, handle onboarding and even access performance reviews. Furthermore, I liked how user-friendly BambooHR is, with its well-crafted dashboard and easy-to-follow navigation system, so I can quickly find the data I need.
CONSHonestly, I don't have any issues - if I had to point out something, I would have liked more customisation options, but it's not a major concern.

Great HR Information System for medium size business
Moved all employment contract management online, leave management, onboarding, offboarding, personal details maintenance through self serve functionality, process workflows and performance management.
PROSModern HR information system with great broad feature set for medium size businesses. Excellent for leave management, request, approval and tracking.
CONSIs based out of the US and orientation is by default to US customers. Works for Australia customers but is a bit short on handling contractors, more permanent focused, and support hours do not cover Australia timezone which has caused some issues.

BambooHR offered us so much more in terms of features and functionality than we would ever invest to build internally. The user experience was modern and easy to use from signing up a new staff member, to onboarding them and maintaining their HR and Leave records. Removed significant risk from process errors, failed notification of employment changes and record keeping for signed contracts. Moved from paper to fully online!

An HRIS that was built with HR in mind
This was hands down the easiest onboarding of a new software package that I have ever experienced. We are a Critical Access Hospital that decided to implement its first HRIS in February of 2020, right as the pandemic started. Of all the things we had to worry about, this implementation was not one of them. The team walked us through the process, meet with us whenever we needed, and assisted in personalizing the software. We went from 0 to complete within a month! And they have been supporting us every step of the way since then. I couldn't ask for a better HRIS partner.
PROSThe software is very easy to personalize to your organizations individual needs. Response from the help desk is usually within minutes, and their out of the box thinking ensures you will get the output that you are looking for.
CONSBambooHR works great with other software programs that have HR in mind. If your backbone software is built for integration is industry specific and somewhat inflexible, it is more difficult to integrate the great features that BambooHR has to offer.

BambooHR had the right recruiting tools, the offered pretty much everything we needed in their basic program, and to upgrade was very simple and inexpensive. Having been in HR for decades, this is the first time I have used an HR system that felt like it was made by those in HR for HR.

Bamboo for Childcare Business
We have noticed such a huge difference in our management of HR since implementing this system. There are tons of things that we are doing now that we would have never thought possible before using Bamboo.
PROSOur business truly benefits from being able to track due dates for trainings and documents. Because we are education, there are a ton of clearances, health forms, and professional development that must be completed. Keeping this all up to date has been done in the past on spreadsheets and not available to everyone to see. Now we can access this as admins and be able to verify things are being done when they are needed. We have also really enjoyed the integration of time tracking, to timesheets, to payroll. It has made our managers lives easier and saved a ton of time for them. it has also made everything seemless for me to run payroll and process benefits without thinking about it too much or taking multiple days to get it done.
CONSI feel like we would really benefit from a follow up training or someone to talk to. Kind of like implementation where someone would just check in to see if you could be using things better or differently to be more effective. We do reach out to support a ton and they are great!!

Free up your HR Department to do their best work
Due to implementing BambooHR, we moved from having 8-10 spreadsheets that required daily maintenance to being able to have one system of record. This has allowed us to onboard employees more seamlessly during the COVID-19 pandemic. We went from PDF time off request forms and a Google Out of the Office calendar that we had to manually maintain to using time off in BambooHR and implementing the iCal feeds so everyone knows who is out of the office at a glance.
PROSGetting employee buy in and adoption is easy due to how intuitive the end-user experience is with BambooHR, especially with Google Single Sign On. As the administrator, I have the ability to make changes and implement things quickly on the backend without having to make a request and wait for someone else to make the changes for me. Having a streamlined and consistent onboarding and offboarding process ensures that new hires are set up for success and offboarding employees accounts and data are turned off in a timely manner.
CONSBambooHR may not have as many robust features as some of the other HRIS out there, but they are always adding new features and making improvements, which is good to see. You may have to add some app integrations in areas like recruiting and benefits administration, if you want all the bells and whistles.

BambooHR Changed our HR Department
Implementing was easy and the Bamboo staff are VERY friendly, engaged and efficient. I especially appreciate the chat feature if I'm in a bind. We really have high praise for the software.
PROSTime off management, staff calendar with holidays, document signing, onboarding, tracking annual evaluations, pay history, org chart, document organizing, shared files with staff, hiring... I like so much about the software!
CONSThe Trainings feature; it doesn't quite work with how we need to enter data for our non-profit. We still use it but it could be better. I also don't love the Benefits tab. Entering data on the backend for me is always confusing.

I honestly can't remember who else we reached out to. It was clear we thought Bamboo far exceeded other products. Plus one of our other Aging Office friends recommended Bamboo (Blair Senior Services).

It was just not compatible with what we needed; it seemed really out of date to me and the interface was unappealing.
