critical function for our daily business
excellent - the most critical app we use with our website
PROSthe ease of use and ability to display, aggregate and deploy data for our day to day use is incredible. it accesses all data captured from our website and is able to to provide preformatted reports or custom reports. it allows for scheduled reporting via email or syncing to google sheets - we have our main production workflow based off of a core report and cascading reports that is displayed real time.
CONSlearning curve for custom reports can be a little steep at first, but this is supplemented by amazing and responsive customer support

A rapid solution to our need for easily managed scale reporting across our Stripe Connect portfolio
We're gaining visibility of multi-merchant data, at scale, that would be impossible to share in Stripe (we even tried Stripe's own Sigma reporting tool). This is near real time (hourly in our case), we have so much freedom in how we use the data, and the experience has been made perfect by the high level of support from the folks at BetterReports.
PROSWe assessed multiple products but BetterReports were the only provider to really understand our use case, work with us to solve it, and provide a tool with an exceptionally flexible report building interface (some of the underlying or optional query power is fantastic) and offering a unique workflow to push data out into our Google Sheets environment where we run imports and lookups to power live summaries and graphs. Alongside this the best thing about the software is the support which is fast, experienced, and helpful.
CONSI can't say there is much I don't like because the solutions we have figured out more than outweigh the limitations - I expected the standard of the administration portal and the lack of variety on user types to be a disappointment but in the end understanding we use the tool to push data elsewhere to be used by folks (off the back of a ridiculous amount of large-scale data consolidation from Stripe)
Reason for choosing Better Reports
It took time to query our use case with all the vendors but in the end Plecto, Putler, and Baremetrics simply don't support Stripe Connect accounts (where you're dealing with multiple merchants' data, not just one). Additionally Baremetrics only thinks about subscriptions yield. Flatly was a viable contender as they offered to solve the use case, but since they are exclusively about data transportation, whereas BetterReports gives us a tool to build and view the reports first before pushing to GoogleSheets, it is a reliable single tool. Plus BetterReports support and engagement of their team was hugely reassuring.
Reasons for switching to Better Reports
Stripe's native reporting or their Sigma product provide only very basic solutions to reporting across a Stripe Connect merchant portfolio, and certainly without the necessary clarity and control for users who only need dashboards and reporting. BetterReports has helped us curate powerful standalone views which better still our teams can incorporate into other reports and analysis directly in G-Suite.

Best reporting tool we've found!
Better Reports allows us to pull reports on far more data than the standard Shopify reporting. If we need data that they don't have available, it is simple to contact their team and they are very prompt with their responses and customizations.
CONSThe only thing I have run into problems with is the number of emails per month we are allowed to schedule. We have many reports that are set to "skip blank reports" but the limit calculates those as if they will always send.

I would highly recommend Better Reports
We switched POS systems and our new system did not have the reporting we needed. Better Reports was my first choice and i am so thankful we went with them.

Better Reports has made sales so much easier!
Being on the sales team we use these reports daily to look at numbers for different sales channels. We have also started using it to forecast inventory replenishment. Customer service is so quick, friendly, and helpful!

Invaluable addition to our financial processes
The software provided a solution to our problematic requirements that we had been unable to find within QuickBooks itself and various other accounting systems. The customer service is incredible. [SENSITIVE CONTENT] was very helpful and built various custom reports for our company using advanced SQL commands.
PROSSoftware is very easy to get up and running and provides the user with access to extensive advanced reporting features that should have been available with Quickbooks.
CONSThe user manual could be tailored to each individual tool. The user interface is fairly basic and lacks features such as a 'refresh', 'undo' button which would be useful when building and filtering reports.

The setup time to meet our requirements was considerably quicker and required less configuration. It was much cheaper, and the ability to schedule reports via email was very useful.

Invaluable Reporting
I love how responsive support is. I've asked for many custom reports and they always get it done within a few hours. The data in the app is amazing for making business decisions. Not sure I could go without it.

Very helpful software & reps
Not only does it work great, but the reps are happy to help us get what we need out of it when our users aren't sure how.
CONSI don't have any complaints. One thing that might be nice is making it easier for more types of people to build reports, without limiting the capabilities of the program. Not sure how exactly that would look as it seems fairly easy already.

Powerful Software, Incredible Support
I need custom reports delivered to me on regular cadences - some daily, some weekly, and some monthly. I often like to dig through data in new ways, and the Better Reports team is always available to help me configure things.
PROSBetter Reports comes with a handful of pre-built useful reports. Where it really shines is in its ability to customize any data and save it as a new report, then email that report to you on a regular cadence. When you have questions or need help setting up custom reports, the Better Reports team is always there to help. I've never gone more than a couple hours before receiving helpful responses and delivered solutions. They even go above and beyond and ask questions to help you get at better and more accurate data.
CONSThe reports builder is slightly confusing. It takes someone pretty seasoned and technical to really build awesome reports by yourself. The visual reports (bars, graphs, etc.) are lacking and so the vast majority of the reports we use are purely numbers based. The overall interface is super basic and could do with a face lift to improve user friendliness.

You get what you pay for and more
They reply to emails right away, and always understand my question the first time. We had to move all of our reports from one Shopify store to another, and they did it for us in the blink of an eye with no extra charges. I honestly didn’t know that customer service for an app could be this good. I sincerely hope they are able to keep it up.
PROSThe customer service level is outstanding. They help set up reports you need in the first place and when you get stuck on one field or one small issue on an ad hoc report, you email them and they immediately fix the report! It’s like having a fairy godmother of reporting!! The possibilities seem endless. They have never said “that can’t be done”. Custom fields are an amazing feature - they were able to create custom fields for me at various levels of the data that transformed my ability to analyze my business.
CONSIt’s not cheap so we hesitated at first. But Better Reports really proves the adage: you get what you pay for. Also the custom fields are a little complex and hard to figure out on your own. This would be a con but because of their amazing customer service it’s a non-issue.

Vital to our business reporting
Very easy to use and to create custom reports. Allows me to share data across multiple users in different departments. Adds another level to Shopify reporting that allows me to deep dive into the figures. Without Better Reports I would not be able to accurately report on the business. Excellent and timely customer support.

great response time for special reporting needs
The customer service is great. I needed to find customers who only purchased X-Smalls, so we can market a special discount on all X-Small items in our shop. And I was able to get a test report sent back to me within 3 hours of requesting it. I love their customer service!
CONSBecause of certain shopify restraints and updates that are made it does reflect the data that is pulled. And sometimes this is out of their control.

The best reporting app, with the absolute best customer service in ANY industry.
The ease and functionality of this application is so far ahead of any other app I have found. It makes our jobs and data analysis so much better. Aside from the incredible practical usage, the thing that separates this app from others is the customer service. If we need a custom field or report, the team has been able to deliver perfectly every time, and within hours of sending a request. Phenomenal!

Better Reports is great - I'm very happy with this product/service.
PROSCustomer support is incredibly responsive and helpful. They've been able to customize the system completely for my team. This tool makes our Shopify data useful so we can make the best business decisions.
CONSData visualization is a bit lack-luster. I often export to excel so that I can pivot and visualize the data the best way (which can be frustrating when I realize I need one additional metric and need to start over).

Better Reports is my source of 90% of reporting
It is an exceptional product.
PROSThe reports can be customized in many different ways. It pulls and split all the info I need for all aspects of my business. The customer support team is incredible at answering my questions and even creating reports for me if I can't figure it out on my own.
CONSIt got a bit pricey when we upgraded to shopify plus. I still found it to be something I couldn't run my business without therefore worth the additional spend.

Outstanding Product!
In a word: phenominal
PROSI have been using Better Reports for over a year. Any time I need a report that I do not know how to create, I contact support and receive prompt (sometimes almost instant) support. They help me obtain the data I need, which is vital to my business.

Reporting Software for Shopify That Works!
It's simple to use and has excellent customer service for those times you can't figure out how to build a report with the columns you want to see.
PROSIt's ease of use. Most of the reports we need are based on Shopify's reporting, but we need more details or we need to schedule exports.
CONSSometimes building a report is very difficult due to differences in the naming or mapping of attributes that Shopify uses vs Better Reports. This is mostly my fault for not learning this tool as well as I should and knowing what data sets are in each system fully.

Better Reports - excellent customer support
Overall I would recommend this to a fellow retailer. You will need to do some work to get opening inventory reporting but once done all you have to do is click.
PROSThe software is not that difficult to use. Custom reports are relatively easy to create and support is always prompt to help out. Reports are generated quickly and are simple to export.
CONSSome fields don't total which I understand is not due to the software but the access to Shopify's data.

Best Shopify reporting tool and support
Amazong support team, they are like magicians.
PROSCreating reports from Shopify data as Shopify reports aren't easy to use or lacking in features.
