  • Pros

  • Overall, I'm very satisfied with DataDog and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable and comprehensive monitoring and analytics platform.
  • I noticed that this monitoring system is very flexible, you can track pretty much any metric, which is great. Great integration with many services like AWS, Chef, Couchbase, JVM, HAProxy, MySQL etc.
  • Best user experience-Unified view of all metrics. It is a lifesaver when troubleshooting performance issues-A broad range of product offerings.
  • Cons

  • Some of the detailed views of where bottlenecks are troubling a system can be lacking. Something we've seen a lag getting data refreshed in the dashboards.
  • Not have rate limiter to control some bad metrics. Not have a mobile app, in some case can be faster to get some alerts.
  • Could have a mobile app so we can have mobile notifications, It could be hard to integration with others tools.

  • The documentation is comprehensive and useful. Trialing the software was easy and seamlessly without notable impact on our servers, so you should defenetly give this a try.
  • We've found it to be very useful in root cause analysis and troubleshooting network issues. The support staff are amazing and cannot be recommended enough.
  • In addition, the web interface is quite slick now. The backend performance (I'm using SQL Server) is fantastic and the site is very responsive.
  • Cons

  • I spent some time over the next few weeks tweaking the settings to tune out some of the "errors" that are really routine events and also correcting problems that we were previously unaware of.
  • My organization wouldn't be caught dead without EventSentry because it takes so much of the manual burden off managing servers and other critical applications.
  • Coming back to the product after just a couple of years, I was shocked at the number of new features that have been added.
