CDC tool

I worked with hvr for 2 years (2020-2022), we chose this tool over other CDC tool after POCs of each. It was necessary to replicate in real time (in cloudsql) and in near real-time (in BigQuery) the data of some databases.

PROS

The product is easy to use to create new replication once we understand everything an the installation is done. Data are replicate in real time in the target system.

CONS

Old interface with hvr 5 (GUI in windows) but It'll change with hvr 6 (I don't test it). We used a plugin (in Python) for Bigquery integration (from hvr) that we had to adapt to take into account certain features (table partitioning at creation, cluster, etc.)
