Pros/Cons
Pros
- Have been loving the app as it supports command line inputs and can be run on any device. Excellent simulation quality.
- The most powerful feature of MATLAB is the help documentation, users can learn and apply methods from help. Definitions of functions are very clear.
- Very strong and capable integrations with hardware, especially for student platforms like Arduino. Help is really helpful and its features are incremental through out the IDE and non intrusive.
Cons
- Nevertheless, it is sometimes hard to get MATLAB to do exactly what you need, due to missing features or a confusing programming interface.
- The saving of files can be annoying sometimes and slow, and often the software crashes due to a bug, which is annoying.
- Sometimes it can be a pain manuevering around your equation if you want to make changes. I find the same problem with MathCAD.
Pros
- Good experience with the free trial so I bought a license. Customer service was great when I reached out to them with questions.
- Very great add-in for analyzing and crunching data, It has a powerful computing ability and great tool for statistical analysis.
- This is a comprehensive sensory software program that is easy to use. Their help, tutorials, and webinars are excellent resources.
Cons
- Sometimes I would accidentally miss a direction on a tutorial and there was no back button so I was left hanging and had to quit the program and restart.
- I worry about whether I can afford it when I am no longer a student and when I need to expand what statistics I need.
- Limitation of computing power impeded me from conducting next-level analyses.
