Payroll Management With Performance, Power, And Versatility
Overall it's hands down the best program of it's type. It's worlds better than ADP, Vanguard, and other similar programs.
PROSWe used ADP prior to Paycor, and I couldn't be happier with the switch! Not only is it wonderful in managing payroll, it's a fantastic human resource tool. We even use to track quarterly metric goals.
CONSI honestly have yet to find something that I don't care for.
Reasons for switching to Paycor
Initially the switch was made because Paycor was the more cost effective option. It turns out it also a better program and service overall as well.

Customer service is terrible. We are currently trying to fix a problem with our pay stubs that was caused by an upgrade to their system. When we called, customer service said it was our fault. We requested they look into it, it took three weeks for them to tell us the issue was caused by an upgrade to their system. The issue could be fixed, and the recommendation was to turn off a feature that keeps us in compliance with DOL regulations.
PROSI am hard pressed to find anything I like about Paycor.
CONSThe difference between the sales promises and the actual software were huge, and set us up for disappointment. We have been on the platform for 3 years, and we are still experiencing issues related to implementation. Customer support is a different person every time, we get a number, cases are closed before the issue is fixed.
Reason for choosing Paycor
We were promised a "vertical customer service" experience with a dedicated team that only worked on healthcare and related entities. That did not happen.

Paychex customer service was deteriorating, and causing issues with our pay.

Comprehensive Human Resources Software
This system allows us to manage our staff effectively, from hiring to paying them. This program handles all employee-related tasks, from scheduling interviews and posting openings to calculating salaries and overtime and facilitating shift swaps.
PROSEmployees' time off, whether for illness or other reasons, can be recorded. It also includes performance management, which allows you to track the efficiency and output of each worker, as well as the development of ongoing projects. Fast and error-free payroll processing has been achieved.
CONSEmployees have reported issues logging into the system to make leave or vacation requests or administering excused absences, highlighting a persistent difficulty with the self-service interface. In an ideal world, I wouldn't have to restrict my productivity to times when I had access to the internet by using technologies that can function offline.

Everything related to hiring, benefits, and payroll can be accessed from a single, streamlined interface. All employment records are kept there as well.

We have had plenty of challenges because of our implementation. It was not handles correctly from the start.
PROSThe payroll module works well. We have not had an issue so far.
CONSThe cost of modules. If you need to do anything extra it will cost you.

Paycor Review
It has been a little frustrating, but I think we have worked out all the kinks now.
PROSCustomer Service is great. They helped me get reports working and helped me turn on multi state for my out of state employee.
CONSReport function did not work at first. However they were able to fix it for me. I had to get out of state payroll and unemployment accounts (previous payroll company did it for me).

Paycor User
I appreciate Paycor recognizing where they are lacking and try to fix it. The new "upgrades" that I have seen recently are headed in the right direction.
PROSI like that, more recently, Paycor has added more programming to make it a more complete HRIS. I like the fact that they identified that there was concerns around customer service and added additional features to help in that area. One area I found helpful and received quicker response time was by filing a "case" to help resolving a less time sensitive issue.
CONSGetting to customer service was not always the best. Once I was able to connect with a human, the customer service was great but that may have been a long wait to get to that point of service The trainings could be better. I feel that they have a lot to offer but it can be cumbersome to find. Some of the documentation I did find was outdated and not helpful.

Best HR Management Solution
It's a solution that needs to be incorporated in any organization regardless of the size. It's an easy to use and has an intuitive dashboard. Integration is seamless and flawless with no single challenge. It's relatively cheaper and gives you the value for the investment.

Stuck with disappointment
I am very torn. I do like the system and feel like there are a lot of functions to take advantage of, however because the customer service is so poor I can not get help to utilize them to the full extent. Also I am disgusted by their billing department, I don't understand why I cannot get answers on what I am expected to pay for and why it changes each week. I honestly want to look for something different, but I feel stuck since we just went through the transfer last year. I have 150 employees and I don't want to put them through another change so quickly. I would change if I could and I would not recommend this to anyone. This is my last hope to try to get someone's attention, 4 months ago I expressed all my frustration with the sales people and was hopeful for some change, but nothing has changed.
PROSI really like the payroll function of the software, it is very easy to set up and run payroll. Also the user side of things is very simple and available in Spanish.
CONSBilling is inconsistent and uninformative, you ask questions and cannot get a direct or clear answer, I think it is very fair to be asking what I am paying for. Which then leads to the other worst function for this company which is customer service, I have been working on a billing question about delivery fees for over a month now, I have now had to ask 3 different people which include the sales people that sold me on Paycor. I have been working on getting a user simple access to review our time cards and it is taking 3 weeks now. I called the support team, they told me it was fixed (it was not). I then created a case number by reaching out to through their support email, a week later I had to follow up with another phone call and they told me they had not even started working on this, so I had to sit on the phone for an hour while they worked on it.

They had a stronger payroll system and a spanish version for users.

I was looking for a system that provided a spanish option for the users. Also I was frustrated with Paylocity's customer service and project management. But now I would go back to Paylocity over Paycor 100%.

Link Business Strategy with Individual Objectives, Measurement and Performance Reviews
We wanted a system to easily allow us to execute our Business Strategy through the OKR mechanism and link these to our individual Performance Planning and Review for staff. 7Geese fits that bill.
PROS7Geese makes implementing Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) in your business fast and efficient. It compliments this with integration to Performance Reviews and other feedback mechanisms to create a holistically mechanism to integrate Business Objective setting with staff alignment and engagement. It's simple to use and the interface is fast.
CONSOKRs are a great way to set goals and align staff. Initiatives, which are the strategic steps to get to the Objective, need to be understood and tracked. 7Geese does not have a mechanism for this yet. If it did, it would be almost perfect. It would also be great if the software had better 'at a point' reporting on OKRs, so that more traditional static monthly status reports could be generated.

7Geese balanced functionality, usability and price the best. While there were more powerful products (Workboard) and cheaper products (15 Five), 7Geese hit the sweet spot in our purchasing review giving us the most value for the price we are paying.
Reasons for switching to Paycor
Workboard was an amazing product and has some extremely powerful capability to link in existing systems to track progress on initiatives (the doing actions to deliver the outcomes for OKRs). In fact, it has more capability than 7Geese. However, for our staff, Workboard was complex to use and the interface was slow. We found it very difficult to get buy in from staff to use the system. 7Geese is simpler and faster, a huge benefit for user adoption. 7Geese was also slightly more attractive price wise.

There are so many benefits to using Paycor! It is efficient - moving candidates from recruiting to onboard. Sending background checks. So great!
PROSI love the home dashboard! It is so organized and I can see exactly where are candidates are at in the hiring process.
CONSI wish that the implementation team was able to provide support throughout the first 6 months. I didn't love being pushed from person to person to get a question answered.

NeoGov was not organized at all and didn't provide customization like Paycor does.

Customizable HR System that meets our needs
I love Paycor. Great product, great customer service and add-on services like educational opportunities for HR professionals.
PROSWe are a non-profit that works with a lot of different funders who require detailed and accurate time and payroll reporting. We also have many different lines of business. I love how customizable Paycor is and the ease of setting it up to meet our specific needs. The implementation team went above and beyond to get us set up quickly when our former payroll provider went out of business. They worked on our various reports until they fully met our needs.
CONSI like the performance management section of Paycor. We are highly regulated and are required to score employees on their job-specific job competencies. Paycor's performance review system was set up more for companies with a pretty generic approach to the reviews. We were able to customize the reviews to meet our needs but it took more set-up than anticipated.

Paycor had all the features we needed and wanted and a competitive price.

Paycor is an excellent payroll software
Instead of two days, payroll just takes two hours. We consolidated our use of three separate programs into just one. We've streamlined the supervisory process by automating several previously manual tasks, including hiring, onboarding, and performance evaluations.
PROSFrom sourcing new employees to managing my retirement, PayCor has me covered. I can select the modules that best suit my needs. Their method of execution is comprehensive, their follow-up is reliable, and their staff is always pleasant and helpful.
CONSIt's really challenging to distinguish between my belongings and those of my subordinates. It's a pain to maintain organized, what with having to manually delete old goals and add/remove team members.

With Paycor, upper management has access to a useful tool that plots out the trajectory of ongoing projects and outlines the milestones that must be attained by a given date.

Glitchy Inaccurate Software and Terrible Customer Support
While Paycor has the ability to be a great system, it is not currently living up to its potential. There are serious short comings when it comes to reliability and when those issues are brought up to Paycor, they are left for weeks being unanswered, or simply never resolved. I cannot trust Paycor to support my business.
PROSThe software seems to be the all-in-one software that we need. However, in reality, the features are not well integrated and do not reliably function as one would need.
CONS- Software is complicated, glitchy, and inaccurate- User access is not easy to use or set up and often changes without my company changing it- Paycor is not tax compliance for their clients, we've had several mailed notices about the issues- The support is unprofessional, chats ending without resolution, phone calls that say they're being escalated without any resolution- We have so many open tickets without resoution

We swithced from Paychex so that our Payroll processing and Benefits could be integrated with our time tracking and scheduling.
