The Qlik Sense system offers data visualization and discovery for individuals and teams. The software's data discovery tool helps businesses of all sizes explore simple and complex data and find all possible associations in their datasets. With the drag and drop interface, users can create interactive data visualizations to present the outcome in a story form.

Qlik Sense offers a centralized hub from where every user can share and find relevant data analyses. The solution is capable of unifying data from multiple databases including Cloudera Impala, IBM DB2, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, Sybase and Teradata. The Open API also allows developers to embed Qlik Sense into new applications and automate data capturing.

Perfect for users with different experience

Pros

Without any doubt, the Qlik Sense’s friendly and intuitive interface does not require special knowledge of data processing from employees. Even without proper customizing the application, the user only needs to do three actions to create a new diagram without writing codes and formulas. We can say that this product is a new level of BI, especially in comparison with other solution. Previously, we worked with multiple legacy and very often disparate sources of data, that’s why the reason why we were looking for a solution which functioned as data unlocker, and Qlik Sense was a perfect fit for our aim. If you want to operate your data like a pro and not only, then Qlik Sense is definitely worth your attention. We think that ease of use and the speed of work backed up by Qlik Sense are among the main advantages of this product. Besides, Qlik Sense provides a powerful support base.

Cons

In Qlik Sense, there is no such freedom: the design is completely fixed, and it is necessary to use it as supplied. On the one hand, this seems a bit strange, especially when not to be accustomed to this option. But we can say that this feature has turned out to be a new and somewhat unexpected advantage.

Cutting Edge Data Visualization tool customizable for unique business analytic needs

Pros

The visualizations that Qlik Sense provides (objects, charts, graphs, etc) are top notch, easy to consume, unique, and are currently a leader in the industry in terms of what they offer for businesses analytical and data viz needs.

Cons

The geoanalytic features offered out of the box could be improved, however, these are easily improved by adding some of the new plug-ins.

Robust software for self-visualization, research, and monitoring of data.

Pros

For us, it is important that even hiring new employees doesn’t somehow stop the previous paces of work. The reason for that is the easy building of reports even for ordinary unprepared users. In Qlik Sense, the drag-and-drop functionality is put in the forefront, that is, the process of adding objects, dimensions, and other units is not so scary as in other programs. Especially, we like that Qlik Sense is a great data processor in RAM directly, and this option allows us to operate with large amounts of information.

Cons

It is not accustomed to having such a user interface in this kind of programs. In our previous solutions, their interfaces were more like a clean sheet of the artist, where he or she could draw almost anything he wanted.

Highly flexible and powerful analytics tool

Pros

The first thing you'll notice with Qlik is how easy and quick it is to load some data and get insights. That's down to 3 aspects of the tool. The first is the data manager which allows you to drag and drop data to extract and transform data. The second is augmented intelligence (the cognitive engine) which can build a data model for you if you wish, or simply make recommendations on how to set up relationships in our data. The last is AI in the front end of the product which generates insight at the click of a button; suggesting charts and alternative ways of presenting your data. Within seconds you can load some data, build a model and present some insight.

When you want to go further you've got the data load editor which allows you to write an ETL script and take advantage of compressed storage in the form of QVDs. In the front end, end users can see the whole story in their data because Qlik never leaves data behind, unlike linear ETL tools like SQL. End users can navigate data intuitively using green, white and grey colour coding.

Qlik Sense makes makes data intuitive and available to everyone.

Cons

There is a steeper learning curve than some other tools if you want to use the script editor to write code. This is worth doing though as it gives you greater control over your data.

The legends on the map objects do not always correctly describe the maps.

Very flexible BI tool although more advanced features have quite a steep learning curve

A great product for if you have some fairly advanced BI requirements.

Pros

It allows us to analyse data in ways that other packages were not capable of. You can produce some really visually impressive visuals and they are really easy for the end user to interact with. The software performs really well and navigation is really smooth.

Cons

The advanced capabilities come at the cost of being fairly difficult to use. It is recommended to work with a partner to get some expert advice in implementation. The server software is fairly resource intensive too. Some of the addon software is very expensive.

Qliksense for business

Thanks to Qliksense we are able to provide easily the information the user wants and to personalise it depending on their needs. Sometimes a given report can be used as base to create another which saves you time to deliver critical information in the least amount of time with the best results.

Pros

What I like most about Qliksense is the ease in which you can portray the information, also the duplicate function helps you to customise your sheet until you like it over and over again.
Also it's really easy to convert an information table into a pivot, graph (any kind), filter, etc.
Also the export feature as well as the filter can help you greatly to get just the information you want in the format you want.

Cons

Sadly when you work with a lot of information lines or put to much formulas into a report it will limit how you can export it (you have to filter by parts to get the full report) or it will not show the information and you will have to filter the overall report to just visualise the information you need.

Great and powerfull BI tool

Pros

Qlik Sense has all the necessary tools for visual presentation of data; it is located in the tab “Main Elements”. All these elements are easily transferred to the work surface. It is possible to create new items by simply dragging. Simplified functions allow you to work on the option drag - and - drop. The selections in the program are very simple, based on Global Selectors. This function allows you to visually change the color of objects, and selects the necessary data for construction. The customer support is excellent. They often hold forums where they share their knowledge, where you can find almost all answers to your questions. I have never needed to open a ticket for those support, but when I got some organizational and technical issues I received quick and detailed answers.

Cons

In fact, I did not have any big problems for the entire time of using Qlik Sence. But there are several negative points of this program, for example its speed.

For dynamic data visualization tools, QS is a leader in today’s market

I work for a consulting company and one of our specialities is creating custom QS applications for our clients. What I’ve seen from QS since I’ve joined the firm is a very powerful application that can make it easy for technical and business executives alike to adopt to and grow to rely on for making business decisions with their data.

Pros

Ease of use, useability
Dynamic list of features and functions
Visualization improvements from QV, prior versioning (including geoanalytics / maps)

Cons

It was slightly more difficult for some of our users to learn than other competitors, however, I personally like it overall the best for data visualization tools available today

Not as great as others, but still mighty.

The price isn’t bad for this program, however, it’s not quite as feature-rich as it’s competitors. It’s very user-friendly and has a ton of support online, which many of its competitors do not, so there’s that.

Pros

Qlik Sense is very easy to use. When we encountered issues, a quick Google search provided help. As we have used and very much liked QlikView, we had to try this and were certainly not disappointed.

Cons

That being said, Qlik Sense isn’t like the “big boys.” It’s almost there, but not quite. The visualization objects are not as varied as we would have liked, especially when it doesn’t support third-party visualizations. This seems like it should be a standard feature.

Pros

Ease of use and low level customisation in UI.

Cons

Available only on Windows.
Exporting dashboards into PDF / Power point is still buggy while rendering the report sometimes.

Worthy successor to Qlikview

Pros

Visually much more slick that Qlikview, and the screen layout is much more dynamic and intelligent. New visualisations are keeping up with the times.

Cons

Ironically the intelligent layout system that I like so much does limit the amount of visualisations that can fit on a particular screen.

Pros

I like the most on this software is the reason why it is build, to provide eye candy dashboard solution. A beautiful and stylish dashboard with amazing functionality on dashboard navigation. Drilling down of data can be done with ease. Creation custom formula is very flexible. Sorting on what field you like is also possible.

Cons

I like the least on this software is price and the exporting of dashboard into image or pdf is not that nice.

Pros

Speed of data loading is relatively fast - powerful engine
Gives you the flexibility to view the report through mobile app
Features like interactive visuals and the dragging selection between charts is something amazing
