Timextender is one of the best ETL Tools going around in the market.
It has been 26 months since I have started working on ETL and have been part of MDM projects and data warehousing project and also have good experience on developing dashboards using semantic layer endpoints and DAX development. I am also a TX-200 certified. I could achieve all this because of my organization and Timextender. Tx has played a great role in shaping up my career as a developer.
PROSRole level security, Custom filters in DSA(data staging area), multiple types of data connectors, supernatural key using hash key algorithm for data warehousing, drag and drop option to the execution queue.
CONSWon't say any feature is least to use as I have explored the tool in and out for 2 years. Every feature is unique in its own way.But there are areas to improve which is:-external executables feature is not very reliable sometimes.-Multiple environment transfer feature can be improved. when a user has it open then the person trying to promote the project is unable to get the transfer window option unless the active user is logged out.

Makes Life easier to a point
Generally positive, it is far easier to develop a model, it does mean sometimes you do things without fully thinking about the bigger picture and have to backtrack later. But even that isn't painful.
PROSIt allows the creation of a functional data warehouse very quickly.
CONSWhen you start to push the tool it would be nice to have intellisense or similar.

TimeExtender Review
For the most part, the experience was good. We had TX pro come out and train us and answer our questions about advance features and scenarios.
PROSTimeExtender is a fast and flexible way to build a data warehouse. It can import from multiple file formats. And the interface layout makes sense.
CONSColumn deletion -- if you change the file layout, it will automatically delete columns that no longer appear in the layout. We needed the columns to remain as the data is still relevant. The workaround is to keep the column even though you are not using it but we learned that the hard way. Stored Proc calling -- it was not clear how to call a stored procedure and use the results if any.
Reason for choosing TimeXtender
it was cheaper, more user friendly and easier to use.

Review
Ease of use for any user with even a little technical know-how.The visualization of what happens with data is much easier to asses compared to reading raw SQL and keeping track of what is happening (and why)
CONSThe pace of development of new features can feel a bit slow..Roadmap for the future would also be lovely as a user
