I cut checks for quite a few subcontractors weekly and there time is sent on an excel spreadsheet. Software allows me to import spreadsheet directly into Qbooks. No incentive was offered My customer starting using Transaction Importer in 2010. Over the years they had to purchase a couple of upgrades because they changed computers (activating and licensing has always been tough). My customer uses the software twice a year to import data to QuickBooks. In late November 2023 they received a message saying their version would be discontinued at the end of the year (approx. 6 weeks away) and they could upgrade for free to the new version. The email was vague and never stated that the software would stop working and they thought it would be like when Microsoft discontinues a Windows version; it can still be used, but no support or updates will be provided. Then when they go to use the software in Feb 2024, it can't access the activation server. They have been shut down. So the perpetual license they purchased no longer works. I contacted support on behalf of my customer and requested that they honor the original free upgrade offer. They said they couldn't. I am extremely disappointed as the original email was sent in late November 2023 and by the end of January 2024 the old version was killed off, unable to use. As my customer only uses the software twice a year, they were caught out. Admittingly my customer should have paid more attention to the email, but the big disappointment here is the fact the old software was killed off so quickly with poor communication from Rightworks, and now my customer now has to buy it again. I will now be advising my other customers who use this software look at other programs as this situation should never happen. #### Ratings breakdown - Ease of use: 2/5 - Value for money: 1/5 - Customer support: 1/5 - Functionality: 2/5 #### Pros Although somewhat clunky, it does what it says it does; i.e. import data to QuickBooks #### Cons Upgrade cost. It was easy to install and set up. Customer support is great! #### Cons I keep having an issue with the product deactivating so I have to go in several times a week and reactivate the subscription. Sometimes this will occur multiple times within a day, sometimes it only happens every few days. When I reported this to TPI, I was told that it originally occurred due to a virus that hit their system but they had discovered the cause and it was being fixed. This may be unique to me; I freelance and manage the Finance section alone. Hence with TPI, I am able to close the books on time and minimize errors with peace of mind. In 2015, when an upgrade was required for QuickBooks; 7 years of confidential partial data had to be moved from the AP to the Employees Section; Needed to use the Pro Exporter, then the deleter, then the Importer. Learnt of TPI then, and the project was successful; am very grateful to TPI ever since. At times, when I do run into problems while importing/exporting it's ALWAYS my error; usually due to a careless non-conformity in the templates etc; once the fields match, TPI is spot on in importing the data. If we did not have it to use to import: Estimates, Purchase Orders and Pricing updates, I would need more staff to accomplish what I'm able to do with the number of staff we have now if it weren't for this product. It also keeps us from having too many people modifying a document, which has helped reduced our mistakes making us more accurate. #### Cons There is nothing I like least, so if I were to have a suggestion it would be a way to figure out who has which user on which computer. I can't recommend this enough. I tell everyone I know that uses Quickbooks Online and if I do anyone's books for them, I make it mandatory that they subscribe to this tool. For my business, I simply could not get it done without this. When I purchase goods for resale, I will often have several dozen or even a hundred or more invoices per day from my distributor. Being able to simply import them from Excel saves me hours of time per day. I also used to let Authorize.net import my sales into Quickbooks, but it was clunky and didn't provide the details I wanted. We at Castor Really enjoy the TPI. It is extremely helpful and useful for our billing function of our company. When we used to import invoices, they'd auto populate the billing/shipping address with the customers info. We need this for sales tax purposes. Also, when we mark "taxable" on the import template, it doesn't register in QB, so we have to manually copy the billing address to the shipping address and then click on taxes to make the invoice show the correct sales tax amount. It's a lot of extra work and it's not scalable. When we get to higher volume or when we find a better solution, we'll have to switch away from transaction pro. I also don't like that i have to open a new browser in incognito mode for the app to work. #### Ratings breakdown - Ease of use: 4/5 - Functionality: 3/5 #### Pros Importing transactions into QB, a different template for different transactions. fairly intuitive to use. #### Cons Not all fields are in the transactions are included on the template. The accounting team has 35 books for entities that we manage. Each entity is very complicated and requires enormous amounts of journal entries to be uploaded from a third party property manager. Prior to Transaction Pro, we were closing the books in 45 days. There is no live customer support to help you with this, only a forum.
