I am a CPA who needed something to track time from staff so it could be later billed but mainly needed the reporting to provide me feedback regarding staff realization and profitability on clients to make sure we are properly charging them for the service they are getting. #### Cons Over the past year the software has become much less reliable. We have had trouble accessing the software or more specifically running reports. We try and run basic reports and the software generates an error and does not allow the report to be run. The primary report I need would be a summary of time spent and related billings by client by service code such as actg, tax, payroll. Right now I can run a report for a client and see the summary of my revenue and time spent but cannot determine whether I am making money on one service such as tax and losing on another like payroll. Our accounting and tax firm switched to Mango from Imaginetime. Looked like a great program. Seemed easy to use, and nice report layouts and many options. However, consistently over the year we were with them we had several issues, such as incorrect data on reports. You could run two reports with same data and end up with different amounts. Invoicing issues which were being witnessed by our clients making us look imcompetent. Several invoice layouts didn't even work. As well as, the ability to track staff loaded costs in certain reports. Unfortunately, all reports that were demo'd are not available in the working version. #### Cons Current support for Mango Billing is horrible. It took support 4 months to get back to us about an import error that we experienced at the beginning of tax season. We did not hear back until after April 15th. By then, our staff hand entered our tech charges, so we could bill.Certain support folks are not knowledgeable and provide the incorrect procedures. #### Reasons for switching to Mango Practice Management We need to account for employee cost vs. billing rate. [SENSITIVE CONTENT] had an appt with me to move things from QB, but there was an issue, and nothing moved over. I had to cancel the 2nd appt due to an unforeseen circumstance. I have emailed and done an in App Chat with Support, [SENSITIVE CONTENT] answered, but another Appointment hasn't been booked yet. I paid for Mango on 11/30/22, on December 9th [SENSITIVE CONTENT] contacted me, and was a bit surprised I wasn't moved over from QB and up and running at all yet. I have emailed, App Chatted, still cannot get a complete move of my Data over from QB; I am having to figure this out on my own, no help. Support seems to be overwhelmed, maybe they need a bigger Staff? Today I made some progress getting things to move into Mango, but it is bits and pieces. If I'd know this was going to be an issue, I could have added Clients daily, and Items by hand, and probably been well along by now, instead of trying to get Support to kick in. I think the Program itself looks lovely; a bit slow, maybe, but it is well thought out. I will say this; if I don't get Support response in the beginning, it makes me feel uneasy about going forward. I will be billed again for Mango on 01/01/2023, and I cannot use it yet. Am I disappointed? No incentive was offered I think it is great for billing - invoicing and receiving payments is a breeze. Time entry is also easy to use and very helpful in our billing process. However, I think I encounter at least 1 or 2 issues every week. There is always some issue that needs fixing or something that could be made more efficient on the user interface. We also tried the project management add-on and we found it lacking so we discontinued that when we renewed this year.Overall, I would be fine switching to another software. It's not the cheapest and we deal with too many hurdles to justify the price as a small business. The billing functionality is great and it has streamlined our process in many regards. #### Cons First of all, the implementation when we first got it was incredibly rocky and slow. I think it took us a month or two, which is crazy. The person who was helping us implement it was clearly overwhelmed and was not great at communicating. Overall, the site goes down occasionally or just loads and loads (I expect this every now and then since it's an online software, but it happens more than I'd like). I often encounter errors in invoice formatting and calculating balances on the bottom line, and errors in client balances on the A/R Aging (which should NEVER happen with a billing software - and this took forever to get fixed) to name some examples. There is also a rigidity in the lack of customization on reports or viewing different modules in the software that I think could be improved. I have submitted many feature requests, but they haven't addressed or implemented any of them.Customer support is really lacking. The support that we do get is always friendly, but I have a feeling that the developer team is very understaffed. There are 2 ways to report issues/bugs: you can open a chat with them in the software (they don't have a phone number to call for support) or you can put in a Feature Request/Bug Report (they NEVER respond to these - I think they go into a black hole). Talking to them via chat is effective sometimes. Often, I will have to follow up to find out the updated status on an issue, and if I don't follow up, I just never hear back. No incentive was offered We transitioned from Imaginetime to Mango when Imaginetime became obsolete because we figured the onboarding would be seamless, as they were the same company. We were wrong. There were errors in the data that, after 4 months of trial and error, we found the problem. This should have been a red flag, but with each program update, functional items, such as menu dropdowns, report data, and invoice data would change or just not work. Customer support is always very nice, and if was something isolated they would work with you until it is fixed, but if it is a program glitch, they send it to the dreaded "Dev Team". I have sent things to the dev team a year ago that are still waiting to be addressed. These are non functioning programming items, not new features I would like to see. In addition, the onboarding does not give you a good sense of how certain setup items affect billing. When we asked why certain billing features were not working the way we wanted, they could not figure out why. Eventually we figured it out ourselves, we had to go in and change every client, as there are no bulk changes. #### Ratings breakdown - Ease of use: 4/5 - Value for money: 3/5 - Customer support: 3/5 - Functionality: 1/5 #### Pros Love the layout and structure of the program. Wish it actually worked better. The layout of separating billing, task management and client portal was good. #### Cons Biggest item. Errors. Errors on invoices and errors in reporting. Secondary items, the fact that they staff can not be assigned to a project, only a task within the project. Filters were hit and miss.
