## Reviews summary

### Secondary ratings

- Customer support: 4.7/5
- Value for money: 4.6/5
- Functionality: 4.5/5

### Rating distribution

- 5 stars: 569 reviews (83%)
- 4 stars: 76 reviews (11%)
- 3 stars: 24 reviews (3%)
- 2 stars: 8 reviews (1%)
- 1 star: 10 reviews (1%)

### Most mentioned pros

- HoneyBook has a lot of helpful tools for service-based businesses, and I do appreciate that it gives business owners one place to manage inquiries, scheduling, invoices, payments, and client communication.
- As an interior designer, having a system that can help organize the client journey is important, and I can see the value in having forms, scheduling, payment processing, and automated emails connected in one platform.
- I love the ability to create templates and recurring invoices with the Honeybook configuration and implementation tools.

### Most mentioned cons

- I hoped to have specific payments for each stage of the work but in HoneyBook I am only able to select general recurrent dates, which is not suitable when the delivery can be different from client to client.
- I can’t keep track of the changes which is why if I for instance resend a proposal or edit a contract mid-process, the only way to keep record of the changes is manually.
- It’s not as good for booking group classes for clients compared to other websites.

#### Reasons for choosing HoneyBook

HoneyBook seemed more customizable for our needs than HubSpot did. It has proven to be the absolute right choice for our specific market and clientele in the hospitality and live events industry.

I have been a user of Honeybook for 4.5 years. I use it for recurring invoices, contracts, and customer management. It needs some improvements but overall it's a good tool for the money.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Value for money: 5/5

- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

I love the ability to create templates and recurring invoices with the Honeybook configuration and implementation tools.

#### Cons

I do not love the UI [User Interface] of Honeybook. It seems a bit dated and is not intuitively laid out.

#### Reasons for choosing HoneyBook

It was a cheaper alternative, at the time. Honeybook is now more expensive.

I feel as they're becoming more AI heavy, they're losing the reliability with unforeseen issues. We never had issues with Honeybook until they started tweaking everything to incorporate AI.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Customer support: 3/5
- Functionality: 3/5

#### Pros

It's still okay for organizing clients. Customer service is quick and friendly. Cost is fair. Templates look nice and are easy to setup for simple items.

#### Cons

There are issues coming up (like client answers not being auto saved) that there is not answer for. Even an issue with the "EST" timezone disappearing, making me unable to set the timezone for the event. The timezone they were able to fix within a week - but the solution to the client answers not being saved was a fail. They asked me to ask the clients to record the issue - there is no way I'm asking a client to record something (especially when it may not happen at that time) after they've just lost 3 hours of work from the template not auto saving. They're already upset enough as is.

#### Reasons for choosing HoneyBook

I was looking for something that would allow me to map my questionnaire answers to specific google sheet cells. Wix does this but was lacking everything else

#### Reasons for switching to HoneyBook

Needed more features and automation. Being able to send a beautifully customized proposal makes us look a lot better.

I started my venue ownership journey with HoneyBook and I will be with them for the remainder of my time in this profession. They are constantly adding new features to keep competitive with other booking platforms.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

I enjoy being able to send my contracts and accept payments all in one place. I’m able to set up payment plans for my clients that are interest free which is a huge selling point. Overbooking clients would be extremely hard to do with this system.

#### Cons

I wish the mobile app was a little more user friendly. I do hope the price doesn’t continue to increase as far as the annual price.

#### Reasons for choosing HoneyBook

It seemed to have all of the features I needed and at the time I had to pick something. I made the right choice. I had found a discount code on YouTube I believe as well.

Besides an unnecessary jump in price, it's been a positive experience with ease of use, clients have no issues navigating their files. Signing contracts is easy for them, & so is paying invoices.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 2/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

It's very easy to setup, the templates were the most helpful part as they gave me guidance on what information should all be included in my contracts.

#### Cons

Price has increased to an amount that I personally find unreasonable, it's no longer worth the money.

#### Reasons for switching to HoneyBook

I wanted a platform for invoices & contracts could be taken care of within the same platform

#### Ratings breakdown

A great CRM interface that makes it very easy to run your own books, contracts, client communication, and take payments.

#### Cons

The automations features are great, but lacking actual conditional smart automation abilities. Hope to see a more complex interface in the near future when it comes to creating smart automations.

#### Reasons for switching to HoneyBook

Unlike the manual data entry and tracking with Excel, Honeybook automates most of my booking needs that I had to track manually on my own before I switched.

### Using HoneyBook is like having a personal sales assistant helping me run my business 24/7

Wow, just keeping everything in one place for my business and the way HoneyBook automatically saves everything that I've been working on has been absolutely transformational. I feel like HoneyBook is 5-10 apps all in one. I also like your customer support and the overall vibe of your company that I get from using your product. I feel like you truly care about your customers :) Also, I'm currently on the $1 per month plan for 6 months. Keep offering that, because that is what made me commit to HoneyBook! Also, your pre-written proposal legal contract is AMAZING! So professional and easy to customize.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

Honeybook is incredibly intuitive and easy to use. Luckily, I started using it when I began my business, so I didn't need to transfer any existing CRM or sales data over. When I was onboarding, HoneyBook's support staff loaded in a bunch of pre-designed templates specific to my industry. They also took images I sent them of my products and prices and turned them into usable sales proposals. That alone has saved me WEEKS of time that I would have had to spend learning how to use HoneyBook and manually inputting my content.

#### Cons

The time tracker does not function to the extent that I need it to. I currently use Time Doctor to track my time, but it would be nice if I could keep everything in HoneyBook. Also, I oftentimes don't see my reminders for following up with "tasks" for clients in my projects pipeline. If there's a way to have those notifications automatically sync with my personal google calendar and send me an email reminder, that would be helpful. Pipedrive's CRM and sales pipeline does a really great job of showing urgent prospects to follow up with. I think it color-codes them too. Also, the email feature within HoneyBook can be a bit confusing. Sometimes, I can't tell if an email sent or not. The notes are also not displayed in a way that's very easy to read. It would be nice to add bullets, bold text, underline, etc. Pipedrive does a really great job of showing all of the email threads and notes between clients and multiple team members in their CRM. Also, the first time I sent an invoice, HoneyBook automatically included a place for gratuity/tip. I've now figured out how to turn that setting off, but I couldn't see that it was automatically included in my invoice ahead of time. With my business (and I think most), they will never need gratuity, so I think that's kind of an odd setting. Maybe instead of having to click and review the settings in the left side bar of invoices, there could be an extra prompt to review those settings before the user sends the proposal to their client.

#### Reasons for choosing HoneyBook

Price, ease of use, everything being in one place, support staff to help with onboarding, good UX and UI.

#### Pros

I use HoneyBook to build proposals containing services terms as well as incorporating payment, all into a single process. This has helped me with not having to negotiate with clients frequently regarding scopes and I have also been able to cut down on the duration taken while closing deals to almost by half.

#### Cons

I can’t keep track of the changes which is why if I for instance resend a proposal or edit a contract mid-process, the only way to keep record of the changes is manually. It becomes difficult to settle issues if something was changed and the user did not know about it.

I love this program. I'm not sure if there is anything really like it on the market and I don't care to look. This program has everything I need to keep up with the day to day in my business.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

I love this program. This is great for photographers and event planners. Likely could be good for another business as well, but as an event planner this program allows me to get inquiries, navigate them through the pipeline stage of booking, invoice clients and send contracts, process payments and build task management and automations all in one place. This program does so much, and connects to QuickBooks which is a huge bonus for me.

#### Cons

There isn't really much about the program that I dislike. I don't like that the automations now have two types of files (legacy and templates). They are basically the same and it really makes no sense to me why they exist separately, but it doesn't impede on using the software. Also, the reporting is good but it doesn't really make sense as it's not as functional as I'd like. You can't look at a report in the program, you have to download every time, but, I make due with what's available.

It is unbelievably easy to make professional client management workflows, and handle the client interaction from first contact, through planning, shooting, delivery, and billing. Everything is seamless, much can be automated to keep things on track, and everything is in one spot. It just makes my whole process so much easier to manage.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

I am blown away by the value I get from HoneyBook every month. It makes doing many of the tasks I absolutely hate (billing, contracts, managing email, scheduling - the business-y stuff of business) absolutely dead simple and painless. I am a huge fan of this software, and regularly recommend it to others who do creative work.

#### Cons

I have very few quibbles with the software. Perhaps a bit more obvious control over the aesthetics of the brochures and documents would be nice, and I would love some additional automation, but overall the system works great and makes it so easy to manage everything that I have a hard time finding anything to complain about. I suppose that I would love an i-frame-based embed for the contact form. My portfolio site doesn't work with the embed type that honeybook provides.
