Spreadsheet Server is a modular-based reporting solution that automatically pulls your live ERP data directly into a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet. The solution allows users to generate reports from live data within Excel, leveraging their own custom queries or those available from the system database. Spreadsheet Server - Live Connection to the GL

Outstanding, easy to set up tool that keeps my staff in Excel and productive, rather than bothering MIS or struggling with more complicated data warehouses and sequel scripts.

PROS

I like the ease of use and the ease of implementation. Spreadsheet Server connects the regular users directly to the TB and GL of our ERP, directly from Excel. No involvement from MIS.

CONS

When Spreadsheet Server is re-calculating the links to the GL, sometimes Excel bombs.

Ease to Use

The reporting tool helps to retrieve the data near real-time for our management reporting & team can build report based on own formula & well supported with MS Excel, which is very good.

PROS

User friendly & supported with MS Excel Add-in & near real-time data.

CONS

Initial setup & assigning the license for every individual user, mostly requires SPS support team help for complete the setup. Some intermittent issue.

Reason for choosing Spreadsheet Server

The main reason is Near real-time retrieval of data from Oracle Fusion ERP Cloud & cost factor.

Reasons for switching to Spreadsheet Server

We transformed from Oracle EBS ERP system to Oracle Fusion ERP Cloud, due to which we need to switch from Excel4apps to SpreadSheet Server.

We use this product as a replacement for Oracle FSG reports for departmental and location reporting.

Reporting times dropped from 3 to 4 days to overnight.

PROS

The product offers great flexibility, looks at the live data and all hierarchies. Distribution Manager and Profile Scheduler really enhance the reporting functionality.

CONS

Performance is slow particularly for transaction based reports. Updating to the very latest software was of great help but we had to move the transactions to a table for quicker queries. This allowed reports to be able to complete overnight (around 8 hours) but we are limited to only a periods worth of data at a time for transaction based reports. The translated ledgers are not currently working but consolidation ledger are so not a top priority but something to fix in the future.

Reporting tool for Companies who don't want to break the bank but want to customize reporting

We have used Spreadsheet server on two accounting platforms successfully. When we moved to NetSuite updating our reporting to the new Spreadsheet server formulas was easy and didn't require us to re-build reports. We have a great rep, [sensitive content hidden], who is very reliable and eager to assist with any issues.

PROS

Customizable; Connection to accounting system; Allows for formatting; Based in Excel; easy to understand the formulas

CONS

Adding users can be challenging; Excel add-in makes it quirky.
