Easy and High Functioning
Sage Fixed Assets has been able to fulfill all needs I've had while tracking multiple companies fixed assets. The interface and reports are well laid out. Customer Service team has been very helpful.
CONSIt does become very slow as a large amount of assets are added to a database. Some changes to individual assets trigger other changes without alerting the user - such as changing depreciation type can change estimated life.

I Can't Believe People Use EXCEL Rather Than SAGE for Fixed Assets
I have used SAGE Fixed Assets for 22 years and really like this software.
PROSIt is so forgiving - if you make a mistake - you just re-enter and re-calculate.
CONSToo many leading Zeros for Account Numbers - Maybe My Fault!
Reason for choosing Sage Fixed Assets
I used SAGE Fixed Assets at my previous job.
Reasons for switching to Sage Fixed Assets
Because SAGE is bulletproof.

Inventory Management
We use Sage Fixed Assets for our day to day duties and will continue to utilize sage as our asset manager.
PROSI like how simple employees pick up on using this software, the customer support is fast and very helpful as well.
CONSWe did have some issues managing the inventory tabs and labels and that seemed to be difficult for someone who doesn't know how to do it already. Support helps out greatly.

Sage Accounting Software Can be improved
The program is great and it does what we need - the only thing bad about it is when there are upgrades there is always a glitch which is fixed when the next upgrade is released. Also the customer service can be improved - they place you on hold it seems like forever.
PROSit does do the statements and reports that we need and it does let you customize your reports
CONSthe customer service - it takes forever to reach someone. When there are updates there is always something wrong with some aspect and you have to wait until the next update is released,

Sage has provided a solid fixed assets solution for our company.
Sage offers easy-to-use/read reports that are easily modified to a users preferences or needs. The software also provides a great solution for housing supporting documentation for each asset. This makes research easy and convenient.
PROSSage's strongest features are report creation, documentation ability and intuitiveness. Reports are sleek, complete and can be modified easily to meet any demands you may have, there are many options available to support documentation efforts (ie. attaching images or pdfs, additional fields for entering specific information) and the product's ease of use requires little time for users to get "up to speed."
CONSReports take a considerable amount of time to load based on the simplicity of many of the reports we use. Based on the other abilities of the software, I would expect reports to be generated a little quicker.

Sage Fixed Assets system review
Very pleased overall. Am working with two new issues for our company: the conversion to the 842 lease accounting standards, and also have a recent asset impairment study done in which many of our fixed assets will need to be written down.
PROSIt is pretty intuitive and user friendly for regular transactions. I have had numerous occasions to inquire about dong non-standard transactions; and I found customer support and on line articles were very helpful.
CONSI'm not sure if this is a case of me not knowing what the options are, but I wish the reporting modules were a bit easier to use and customize. I've tried t recreate some reports but I cannot get the correct depreciation to reflect in the report. My biggest issue with reports is that I would also like to see the excel downloads parse in a fashion that would allow me to sort data; like the regular fixed asset download on the asset page.

My Two Bits
It has been great.
PROSIt depreciates properly. It has multiple books. Report writer allows for obtaining information in format we need. Cost is reasonable. Have used it for about 25 years - company is stable, software reliable. Best as I recall, have only need to contact support 2-3 times over the last 20 years.
CONSI wish I would be notified by email or telephone call when there is an update/upgrade instead of having to go look for it. Best as I recall, takes longer than I would like to get support - I'm old and like to be able to call and speak with a human being within 5 minutes.
Reason for choosing Sage Fixed Assets
As best as I can remember, saw ad in accountancy magazine.I am clicking the below required field that starts with 'by submitting this review....' BUT I DO NOT GIVE PERMISSION FOR ANY OF MY PERSONAL INFORMATION TO BE USED OUTSIDE OF SAGE.

Easy to set-up and use. Very good but basic fixed assets accounting system.
Overall this is a great tool for accounting of fixed assets for small to mid-sized companies with assets of 10,000 or fewer. It accomplishes all that is needed but keeps it basic. Does not easily integrate with other software products.
PROSHaving utilized "FAS" for 12 years, Sage Fixed Assets is a practical but thorough accounting software for managing assets. Importing data is easy. Various depreciation schedules are great to use. Running monthly depreciation is also easy. Simple, pretty basic, gets the job done.
CONSReporting is very basic and hard to customize. Fields are too narrow for effective customized output. Exports of data into Excel does not produce easily usable rows and columns. Getting report totals by department for posting is more complicated than it should be.

FAS review
FAS has handled our fixed assets and depreciation for decades. In that time the software has made handling this large amount of data manageable.
PROSFAS does an excellent job of tracking our fixed assets and keeping track of our depreciation. It is powerful with many options. I can create various subcategories to itemize our assets. The reporting function is superb. Once again I can create reports to make accounting and auditing easier.
CONSThe only con I have is that the software offers so much that it is sometimes difficult to find exactly what I need. Downloading reports to Excel is messy. I have to spend a good deal of time cleaning up the spreadsheet.

Gets the job done
I really only use it to calculate depreciation. I have a large number of fixed assets, but if i had a smaller amount i could probable do depreciation on Excel. So just based on my limited use i think the software is expensive for what it does. That being said, it does do the job.
PROSEasy to set up new assets easy to run depreciation.
CONSNot intuitive. Reports are odd. Errors are hard to fix. If you accidentally run depreciation a second time becaue the exit button looks like OK you are not going to be able to undo this. Its not always easy to know what reports you need to run. Custom reports cost extra.
Reason for choosing Sage Fixed Assets
Because we use other Sage accounting products.

SAGE Fixed Asset Review
Overall great experience with the software for the past 20 years. It has consistently been a very reliable source for our accounting needs.
PROSAfter utilizing SAGE Fixed Assets for over 20 years, the reliability has been exceptional. No issues through out the year as it has severed it's purposes in tracking our capital purchases and processing the needed depreciation expense along with all year-end tax return schedules.
CONSThe only minor complaint has to do with the timing of when new tax tables and schedule are available for year-end and new year.

Sage is well thought out software
The program is fairly easy to use as long as the user understands tax depreciaition requirements.
PROSWe love the number of depreciation books the program has.
CONSI love the software. In my more than 30 years of use, I have only had one issue that support had to fix.
Reason for choosing Sage Fixed Assets
I worked in public accounting and this was the software the firm used. When I came to the bank, I bought this software and was able to convert the accounting records from the CPA to ourprogarm quite easily

Good affordable solution
Just an effective way for us to track our fixed assets and identify assets that need to be located or be disposed of.
PROSVery easy product to use, timely updates, and easy to use forecasting tools, and all of the reports we need
CONSWe have not seemlessly incorporated this system into our core accounting system. Journal entries are produced by the software but are manually keyed into our core accounting system.
Reason for choosing Sage Fixed Assets
Cost effective and comprehensive enough for our business needs.

Love Sage Software
We have found Sage to be the most user friendly fixed assets software. It is easily searchable by any field and is very easy to navigate.
CONSWe didn't like that the software will let you duplicate records and doesn't prevent duplicate assets being entered. Wish there was a stop or at least a popup message that would help hedge that off.
