Quite splendid. Never had any difficulties. Beautifully structured.

PROS

Ease of use. It's extremely convenient and user friendly. The layout is well organized and it makes the entire user experience wonderful.

CONS

There's nothing that I dislike about this software. On occasion the videos do not load properly. That's probably my only complaint. But then again, that's extremely rare.

Save so much time in the hiring process!

Saves time and allows us to better know our candidates! It is easy to use and is a great system for our organization.

PROS

The software allows us to conduct first-round interviews without bringing candidates into the organization and having the hiring committee gather in one place at one time. The committee can review candidates from anywhere! This allows our second round in-person interviews to have a stronger pool of candidates.

CONS

I don't like that you can't pre-select the reviewers for all the applicants for a chosen assessment, i.e. after each candidate submits their videos, you have to go back in and assign that applicant to the reviewers. Why can't you just set all the reviewers you want for a specific assessment and have them all get alerted to review candidates once they filter in?

Kira Talent Review

PROS

Our office uses Kira Talent to host the video essay portion of our student application. The platform is easy to use, and offers a great tutorial and instructions for how each video assessment will be conducted. The customer support is also very responsive and the software works well with the system we use to house the application itself.

CONS

We have three deadline per year in which applications are due, which corresponds with three important days when our applicants are preparing and submitting their video essays. As such, the platform is heavily trafficked on those days. While we have prepared Kira Talent months ahead of time for these days, we still have our users complaining of experiencing technical difficulties due to the high volume at those times. This has caused some problems in our process in the past. However, Kira Talent customer support team is very responsive during these times and does work with out applicants to ensure the technology is working for them.

Kira has helped us with streamlining our application review process.

The biggest benefit I have received from this software is it has streamlined my application review process so now I no longer have to schedule online Skype interviews with international applicants.

PROS

The software is super easy to use and we have experienced very few technical errors either on our side or our applicants side. When issues have come up the Kira team has had it fixed within 24 hours.

CONS

Honestly, I have not run into any issues using this software yet, it has been a great experience so far!

Kira Talent Review (making a title for this seems really unecessary)

Great service, staff are incredible. The platform makes certain components of scholarship applications easier to review.

PROS

simple, clean interface that's easy to navigate

CONS

When I started creating applications 2 years ago I was able to set up/edit some parts of the assessment and for others I relied on a Kira Talent staff member to do it for me. While they were very helpful and responsive I prefer to be able to create/edit all parts of an assessment and then only reach out when I'm having a problem or doing something unique. It's gotten better over the years but I think more and more flexibility would be helpful.

Fantastic support

PROS

The video essay platform is very user friendly and walks participants through computer set-up as well as practice questions. Their technical support takes a lot of pressure off my office, as they handle all troubleshooting and always respond instantaneously if I have questions regarding anything!

CONS

There are not many cons, Kira is constantly upgrading their technology to deal with the high traffic times and always gives attention to any issues!

Great functionality

Overall, I think Kira is great. It integrates seamlessly with other CRMs, and the functionality is solid. I've also been very impressed by the customer support. Each time I've had questions about the technology, Kira has been very thorough and quick to respond.

PROS

I love that Kira integrates seamlessly with our CRM; we use Kira for a video component of our application. It's very easy to access.

CONS

I think that sometimes the instructions about when candidates get access to the platform and steps for completing are at times confusing.

It just works!

Quality video interview from applicants

PROS

Seamless integration / process handoff even with custom developed software. Excellent and responsive customer support and technical support. As a developer team lead, this is one of the 3rd party integration that we do not have to worry about. We have been using it for multiple years and multiple application terms without an issue.

CONS

We would like to see even more integration with our system so that we don't even need to send our applicant over to Kira's website. It would be nice if the interview can be handled within our application system.

The experience is overall ok. It runs smoothly and helps me get things done

It helps me get my work done.

PROS

I like the software because it's easy to navigate. I was able to view the content very smoothly without any trouble. The design of the software is also very clean. Because I spent a lot of time on the software, having a clean design makes it a lot easier. It is also easy to search for content you want to review.

CONS

The website works for certain browsers better than the others, which can be annoying. Because I use different browsers interchangeably. I would wish the website to have more features like bookmark, so i can more easily see what I have marked down.

Kira Talent assessments have helped us gain a better view of our applicants' communication skills.

We're able to virtually interview applicants without requiring staff to be available for live interviews; incorporating the review of these interviews into application review has been extremely helpful in assessing individuals for our professional graduate degrees.

PROS

Easy to use from the admin side; integration with our current app system went quite smoothly and continues to run without issues about 2 years after implementation. It allows us to mimic a live interview without the personnel necessary to hold hundreds of live interviews with individual applicants. The randomization of questions is a great feature. Customer support is great. Applicants who are qualified for our programs (able to complete a live interview without extreme anxiety that inhibits communication) have given it positive reviews. Looking forward to integrating it with our new CRM/app (Slate) to be built over the next year or so.

CONS

The ability of applicants to refresh their web browser to get a new question (until they get a question they can answer) isn't great. On our side, the fact that questions have been collected in this way and disseminated on sites like gradcafe.com isn't awesome - but when we see an interviewee obviously reading their answer in the interview, it actually makes our decision much easier. I wish there was an admin user role that would allow the user to login and view any interview without having it assigned to them specifically - without giving them the ability to delete/modify content/interviews within Kira Talent (so - more granular access rights would be nice).

Good functionality and quite easy to use

PROS

The short interviews that we use the software for are very valuable. Kira is pretty easy to use - inviting one or multiple email addresses to an interview is very easy. The platform is quick to load and watch interviews. We use this platform almost daily and it works well for what it does.

CONS

I really wish that the interviews were mobile compatible. Several interviewees have only had access to a microphone though their phone, so have not been able to complete the Kira interview. Once someone completes an interview, you cannot change the interview structure (for instance to give interviewees more time to complete the interview). I understand why this is in place but wish you could override the system to make these changes. It is tricky / finicky to copy links to individual interview invites. We do this quite a bit as we will send an email with their interview link.

Kira Talent is an easy to use online platform for managing interview invites for our applicants.

This software allows us to easily interface with our applicant base to manage our interviews.

PROS

The best feature of this software is its ability to manage reminders through the system for those who have not started or not completed their Kira interview. It's also very user friendly, allowing us to group specific people for certain types of interviews as well as providing analysis for certain types of actions taken throughout an interview.

CONS

I would like to have a feature added that lets us know whether individuals have received the original email invitation. Sometimes we are unsure if someone has received and viewed/opened the invitation email and we have to follow up with them manually.

On this blue bar graph, the "Not Started" stage lists all applicants who have not opened their invite email. Kira Talent is an excellent way to screen applicants and form an immediate impression.

This software provides a very reliable indicator of an applicant's personality and potential. In a program such as ours, where we assess leadership potential, communications ability, initiative and assertiveness, Kira Talent has proven to be very consistent with what we find during full-length, in-person interviews.

PROS

The software is easy to use, functional, has good search function, and provides valuable information. I use it a lot and have found it to be a very important of our admissions process, especially when we cannot interview everybody.

CONS

I think students are a little intimidated by the process and may be nervous. I have had some instances in which students read their responses to the question. This isn't a problem with the software per se. Occasionally, the videos take a while to load and cause delay.

We have used Kira for the past 3 years. It is easy to use, easy to update.

PROS

Ease of use, integration with our application, access to review what a reviewer said and comments. This year we used the writing function and really liked that.

CONS

No matter the randomness of the questions, our questions are making their way onto public media and we are seeing rehearsed answers.

This product is user friendly, has a great UI and customer service is fantastic!

PROS

The Kira team has been so quick to help every time our team needs to make updates on the platform. They usually respond within just a few hours and deliver on requests just as quickly. They also respond quickly to applicants who reach out for help on the platform. The platform itself is very easy for both the applicant and our backend users. In just over a year with Kira, we have not had a single applicant who had an issue navigating the platform and completing the interview because it's so intuitive.

CONS

The main downside for our team is that we have international and other applicants who don't always have access to consistent internet. However, Kira's minimum bandwidth requirements are well within reason. The former Flash requirement used to be a huge downside (having to advise applicants to use Chrome wasn't ideal), but the switch to HTML5 takes care of that problem.

I have had a good experience with Kira. Overall, it has always functioned well and support great.

PROS

I like the ability to change our questions easily throughout the admissions cycle. I also like that we can see the number of browser refreshes and all of the technical aspects.

CONS

I don't have any at this time to share. I guess we get students who tell us they have technical difficulties and we can't trouble shoot them on our own. It would be nice to be able to assist them at some level, if possible. So, maybe it would be good to have a training about basic common issues students/users have.

Game changer for admissions

Great Prodcut to assist with recruitment

PROS

It allows you to get a sense of an individual before you meet them in person and it allows you to see a video of their verbal communications skills and then their written skills with a written assessment. It has been a crucial tool for my team to help with recruitment.

CONS

Sometimes candidates are able to game the platform to be able to review the questions and thus prepare in advance. They need to create a better security system to prevent this from happening.

An innovative tool for online learning

The interface is elegant and the customer service is excellent. As a result, I had a tool that really elevated my course. The assessments were a tool for ensuring that students were prepared for class, and they actually enjoyed them.

PROS

The software allowed me to create video quizzes that enable students to offer thoughtful but concise answers on assigned reading. In an online environment, this enables me to get to know my students in a way that a paper and pencil assessment would not.

CONS

The students should not have to do the introductory video before each new assessment. This became redundant after the first assessment.

User friendly with great interface!

Excellent customer service, especially with the live chat feature on their website. I've utilized it a few times and it's very handy. Additionally, the 24/7 tech help for applicants is also super convenient and helpful. I've also had the opportunity to be involved in the creation of a new program and manged the recording process and sending the script and recordings to Kira. Pretty seamless process. The reps are super helpful to work with.

PROS

It is very easy to use and navigate in terms of setting up, recording, accessing, and reviewing recordings.

CONS

The inability to batch assign specific applicants to reviewers. Currently the batch assignment is only for randomized applications.

A more clear perspective of one's English language skills

PROS

To invite someone to a Kira, it is simple and takes about 30 seconds. The response (receipt of the Kira interview) is much quicker than a CD presentation being sent to us from overseas.

CONS

If you forget your password, it is sometimes confusing to get it back. If checking to see if someone started or submitted a KIra, I sometimes have to use different search names/address.

Kira has been a great tool for evaluating admission candidates. The customer service is great.

PROS

The software is designed in a very straightforward and user-friendly manner. I like how quickly and efficiently you can work within the platform and tracking interviews is very easy.

CONS

The only issues we run into is certain browsers often give candidates issues in completing the interview. Usually trying a different browser clears up the issue, but it often give users issues.

PROS

Some of the things I liked about Kira versus other software that I have used in the past is the ability to rate interviews and share that information with others who are viewing the same video. It allowed for easier and more streamlined calibration of candidates. In addition, the length of the videos allowed for direct, to the point statements of candidates which allowed for more manageable review time.

CONS

There wasn't anything directly that stood out to me as a CON to this software, however the email notifications that each candidate had uploaded their video I could do without

Great platform that helps our processes move faster.

PROS

Very intuitive to manage this product. It saves time on a process that otherwise would need to be managed manually by a person.

CONS

It has glitches sometimes that requires us to contact Kira team for support to resolve it which slows down the process.
