Unbelievable support - like having three more employees pitching in.
The time saved with the OneCause product is really like having extra employees/volunteers. Can't imagine doing it without them.
PROSThe software did everything we needed it to and more - from selling tickets and foursomes to silent auction and day-of fixed price items...simple to implement and a nice customer facing mobile app. But what really makes the product different is the incredible support you get from their team. Regular check-in's and calls - by the time our event rolled around, they knew more about it than I did. Although it was my first year running the multi-day events, I felt extremely comfortable and confident due to the support I received from OneCause.
CONSI have only one complaint, and that is that there's not great-looking templates for the landing pages, and when we built our own, it was kind of a process in that it has to be stored on a website rather than uploading to OneCause. I believe they're working on improving that.

Valuable Fundraising Tool
OneCause has become a valuable tool in our fundraising arsenal. During the pandemic the platform provided us the ability to hold all of our planned events even with the cancellation of in-person events and the uncertainty that surrounded event planning. OneCause provided the tools to enable virtual and contactless events pretty seamlessly. Our constituent base has adapted to the use of the online platform, which we continue to use with live events as well, and we have been able to grow our donor base by offering an online component to donors who cannot attend in-person events but still want to support our cause.
PROSWe purchased this software when the need for virtual events arose. We were looking for a tool to use for fundraising events that included raffles, silent auctions, registration, and peer-to-peer campaigns. The different options available within the software allowed us to tailor each event set up to our specific needs. We required a platform that would be viable for both a virtual and in-person events and would also offer options for hybrid events. The help and support available from OneCause helped to streamline the learning curve. Once we got past the learning curve, the product is easy to use. The various reporting functions were important since the software does not integrate with our CRM system. The ease of use for our donor base was a factor as well.
CONSOneCause does not integrate with the CRM system we use, so we had to come up with a few internal workarounds to address accounting and donor contact issues. Setting up event pages is not intuitive, and I needed the help of a web developer to give the pages a professional look and feel. There is a large learning curve to be able to utilize all aspects of the software, which involved a lot of online training videos and articles.

We chose OneCause due to the ease of use, the different applications that could be applied using the software that fit our fundraising model, and the value proposition compared to other products.

BIDPAL sold our not for profit a bill of goods and then failed to deliver!

PROSThe best thing I can say about this software is my login worked and that's about it!
CONSCustomer Service was horrible. We got passed around from one person to the next and then was told that the program would have to be 'worked around' costing my volunteers valuable time to get what we were told we would have from the software. Our guests at our fundraisers complained constantly about the software and the onsite representative did NOTHING to step in and assist. When asked for a pro-rated refund mid year because the software was handicapping our events, we were told simply no. Thanks for nothing BIDPAL!

Absolutely seamless software and such a game changer for our non-profit!
I cannot fathom maneuvering the pandemic as a non-profit without the use of OneCause, much less any other year. We incorporated it into every single virtual event and in-person event and were able to stay financially stable thanks to its use. We actually surpassed our budgeting goals for the year and had the most successful mobile bidding gala silent auction in the Zoos history. We look forward to using OneCause for many years to come!
PROSOneCause, including their mobile bidding, peer-to-peer and online giving platforms, has absolutely set the standard for fundraising software for the best price. The software has been invaluable to our non-profit, paying for itself after a single event. Our team seamlessly incorporated each platform into our in-person and virtual events with ease. The mobile bidding software is not only a breeze for administrators to create and manage from the back end, but we have received countless compliments from users/guests as to its ease of use. Even older audiences were able to easily navigate the auction, donate and even set bots/watch different packages. The peer-to-peer platform was unreal. Not only does it have the best aesthetics and options for design, it's seamless in its reporting and analytics. Our peer-to-peer Walk was praised for being a interactive, exciting way to build networks and fundraise for the Zoo for an extended period of time. We cannot stress the effectiveness of this software enough!
CONSThere is truly so little that we dislike about OneCause. Our customer support contacts were so easy to reach, communicate with and work through any dilemma with. Our only "wish list" item for OneCause's mobile bidding software is simply to be able to categorize fixed price packages. That's all we can think of to improve the platform, which speaks strides of its excellence.

OneCause has superior aesthetics and their staff were significantly better to work with. We had an unprofessional interaction with Classy staff that put a bad taste in our mouth.
Reasons for switching to OneCause
OneCause is more affordable and offers a better experience for the administrators on the back end and guests/users. Reports/CSV files also seamlessly download and upload into our donor database, DonorPerfect.

Best Bang for Your Buck
I could be a sales rep for One Cause because I love it that much! I have influenced 3 other non-profits within my community to purchase the software. I also helped in getting them going with their setup.
PROSAfter participating in the One Cause University, I felt very accomplished and capable. What I love the most, is the seemingly endless supply of functionality! The reports are amazing and easy to access. The ease of designing your event page is wonderful. Even the smallest of events appear grand when One Cause is the incorporated. I have recommended the software to 3 local nonprofits and even assisted them in getting started on the setup.
CONSOne small enhancement- I would request that within one event have the capability to divert funds into separate banking accounts. Example- Fixed price items be processed in one account, silent/ live auction proceeds in a different account. I have not used the software for an in person event, so can't speak to it's ticketing abilities.
Reason for choosing OneCause
You have to tell buyers to do the math- most other non profit software take a percentage of the proceeds of your auction/ fixed price items for your event. If your proceeds are small, then go with the "free" or reduced software. Our event was set to have a larger amount in proceeds. It was a huge benefit for us to pay more up front, as a fixed price purchase for this amazing, highly functioning software. Ticket sales are about the same everywhere you turn- I did not find any option that avoided ticketing fees.

User friendly and a must-have for large events
While the community was sure it wouldn't work for them, it did! The ease of bidding from anywhere you are and sharing the items with friends and family near and far is extremely beneficial. Our auction proceeds have nearly doubled since we started using Onecause to its full capacity.
PROSI love the max-bids function. We try to push this out to our constituents so that they can attend and enjoy the evening without worrying about getting outbid.
CONSThree suggestions: Be able to select who has to enter a credit card to bid and who doesn't. As a school we know almost everyone attending and some of our parents prefer not to enter a credit card up front. While some attendees are not known to us and requiring a credit card would be a must. Secondly, allowing for more than one photo upload would be great. The added URL option is wonderful, but it's sometimes not easy to find photos of items online, especially if they are one of a kind. Another suggestion: We use the Auction Catalogue as our displays at the event. It would be really great to single page display option for items that need to be highlighted. A larger picture or event logo at the top would add to it.

It was mostly the UI and ease of access. The reporting was also a big selling point. The look off the bidding websites are top-notch.

Auction tracker only offered paper bid sheets and the UI was not nearly as easy as Bidpal.

Very user friendly with great help desk response time.
I have been thrilled with the customer service provided by OneCause. Anytime I have had a question, the person helping me via the chat feature was quick and had great answers. If they did not know the answer, they have always been wonderful about asking management for clarification. Love love love my customer success manager [sensitive content hidden]!
CONSI would like to be able to tailor and tweak the reports a little more. We moved over from Greater Giving and while OneCause has been worlds easier to use, the reporting options are definitely subpar in comparison.

OneCause is worth it!
I actually enjoyed our event for the first time. Since I had someone from OneCause helping with the technical check-in, processing in person gifts and auction check out, I could visit with our guests and ask them about their bids, if they were enjoying the event and thank them for attending. It was a huge win for me!
PROSThe training classes are helpful. Software is easy to use. Any questions I had-they were there to help.
CONSThe cost. But it is worth it. It’s just hard for our non- profit to spend money on something that makes my life easier.

The gal that worked with me on the sales side was wonderful! Patient with our slow process and worked with me, answered lots of questions. Gave us the best deal she could. She was a jewel! Whoova- didn’t fit our needs- more for a conference- even though he knew this-he was pushy and just wanted to make the sake.

Our donors were upset that they had to opt out of the additional “donation “ to the hosting software. Many missed seeing this. Our board wanted a report on what extra was given and that wasn’t available. So I was told to check out Bidpal.Also using BetterUnite- the internet failed and the board blamed the software. But we found it difficult to use as we didn’t have enough training on it

Wilmington University loves One Cause!
Our overall experience has been amazing. From the technical support, customer service, and overall event management One Cause has improved our entire events process.
PROSWe started out with the mobile bidding software and it streamlined our fundraising events increasing revenue and accessibility for guests to attend globally even if they couldn't attend in person. We then moved on to include peer to peer for donor management and campaigns. This software has changed our overall event production providing a smooth process for the user and the attendees.
CONSI think the one improvement I would suggest is having the option to text attendees through the peer to peer software similar to the mobile bidding software.

We needed more than just ticket sales software. The mobile bidding software was just what we were looking for and then an added bonus to only use the software for ticketing for our smaller events.

Good Product, Good Service, Relative Ease of Use
We were grateful to have a OneCause staff member at our Gala and she was excellent. However we have now learned to run the software ourselves with success. Customer service was good but it is not helpful to be directed to a website or genreal anwers to questions when you are seeking a specific answer. WE still can't figure out what some monthly charge is for. Overall expereince was good.
PROSWhile we still can't get our people to give up paper bidding, we are very pleased with the ability to set up the auction page and share it it with event attendees and others. We have been successful using a buy now option and selling items before the event.
CONSThere needs to be a better way to cusomize bid sheets. There also needs to be a more intuitive, easy way to get people to preregister --- like a big button that says PRE-REGISTER. A small sign in button on the top right had corner of the auction page was hard for our people. Also a one step process to pre-regestier and put in a credit card (as opposed to a two step process) would be great.

Worked for us
Overall this worked great for our annual fundraiser. We are looking forward to using it again for next year's fundraiser in a (hopefully) hybrid in person and online event!
PROSIt's fairly easy to use overall. We used this for one large event and it saved so much time doing some things on here that we would have otherwise done manually!
CONSWhile some features are user friendly, the design component of the event isn't as easy. It's actually kind of of a pain to upload pictures and format your actual site. I would have expected it to be easier based on the webinars I'd attended and conversations with the host.

It had all the features we needed and the initial guy that I talked to had a great presentation and was awesome. He was what really sold it to me. Cost was not more than any other program but this had everything we wanted. I had used it before as a user at another event and really liked it on that side as well.

OneCause User
I like using OneCause because it is easy to manage and easy to train people on. I love working with the OneCause staff online and most especially on site. The OneCause support staff is knowledgeable and promptly responds to questions or needs. The onsite staff is very friendly and work really hard to provide us with feedback on how best to maximize the features of the platform. They make recommendations but make sure they know who the client is and not overstep their bounds.
PROSI have used this platform in my previous job and I found it to be very easy to use, like the newly updated features i.e. sponsors able to send a unique invite link to their guests. Our events team was able to jump in and use it right away. I also like that disbursements are made the next day after the event and the financial reports are easy to use or download..
CONSNot being able to upload images directly on the site. I have to use a dropbox link to store the images I use for the pages.

Great Event Processing
Above and beyond, OneCause's customer service is one of the main reasons to try this product. The customer service is readily available for any support large to small and responds to any inquiry with efficiency. OneCause is also a great platform for event payment processing - simple for donors and simple for staff.
CONSThe reports features could have more definitions/learning on which report pulls what. The registration/log-in for donors to the online giving could also be simplified - a few of our donors didn't want to go through a log-in process and just donate, but we couldn't figure out how to do that.

We use OneCause for our silent auctions and each one has been a success due to OneCause!
We get benefits from OneCause of making our silent auctions more accessible and look great!
PROSI love the customization and features of OneCause that make each event feel personalized. We love being able to add our auction sponsor logo on the Giving Center along with pictures for the event and change colors on the site itself. When entering itmes/packages the features make it easy to enter and package together.
CONSYou can't have multiple events open in a window at the same time. If you are reusing descriptions/features/wording from one event to another event it's hard. We have multiple auctions and like to keep wording consistent for check out/text messages/ specific recurring items.

Set up of Custom Pages
I have been very happy with the response from our representative. [SENSITIVE CONTENT] (new position) responded when I needed help. Also, I can't tell you how nice and helpful the tech support people have been for me. I could not have completed our auction without their support. Awesome job!
PROSIt is so nice to have registration, donations, and auction all at the same place and using the same platform. Seems that our users are pretty comfortable with it's use.
CONSI wish you could just upload a document from your computer for custom pages. It's a bit cumbersome going to drop box. I'm not sure why that is especially since we're able to load auction photos from our own computer. I also think that the check boxes for auction featuring, etc. are a bit confusing. Not always intuitive with the enabling, etc. check boxes.

I've used it for 5 years now and appreciate the many facets of the software, esp. the reports.
While I appreciate BidPal very much and see how it's benefited our organization through the years, I still think the cost is much too high considering the high cost of the add-ons. The auction listings are still far too limiting. I've submitted various ideas through the years, but none have been brought to fruition. There should be the ability to be able to modify the appearance of the font, so that certain words stand out to the bidder. Bold, underline, italics are basic things that should easily be able to be accommodated, not to mention color. When many events are held in the evening when cocktails are being served, the improvement of the fonts would help to alleviate many words in a description (that our PRIZE DONORS want to see) running together and not being fully comprehended. The second thing that needs some upgrading is the auction portal that the bidders see. While it is easy to add a banner and colors to spruce things up, it is too wordy and there are too many choices which can be confusing for first time bidders. I think that it inhibits pre-bidding for that reason and guests have to wait to get to the event to feel comfortable in being trained. The pros are equal in that the reporting capability and payment/supporters area is very helpful and well laid out. Of immense value!

One Cause Great For NonProfit Fundraising
Overall it was a very positive experience! I loved how helpful the customer service/support staff were throughout the entire process. I would reccomend this product to other nonprofits looking fo ra software for fundraising and silent auctions.
PROSI liked that the software was pretty user-friendly for the most part. It was nice how many different avenues they had to learn more about the software that you had purchased (OneCause University, shorter demo videos, help pages). I also loved the customer service. Any time I had a question, it was answered quickly and completely. We utilized BidPal the most for our Silent Auction fundraiser. It was very easy to understand, input items, add pictures, and price the items. The people at our event loved it once they got logged in and talked about how nice it was to know when you've been outbid, etc.
CONSI didn't love the amount of emails they sent. There were probably 3-5 marketing emails a week. I'm sure there was a setting somewhere that I could've gone in and unsubscribed but it would be better if they didnt automatically send to you in the first place. The only other complaint that I had would be with the check-in/out app for Bid Pal. The SmartPay app was just not great. It was slow, didn't work very well, and logged us out after every customer we looked up.

Non profit fundraising tool
OneCause is very user friendly and easy to figure out even for the novice user. There are several work-arounds and all are pretty easy to figure out. I have used this platform many times only once a year and although I need a refresher once coming back into it, I can pick it up very easily - very user friendly.
CONSit is pricier than most other platforms. Although they update the platform on a regular basis, I would like to see some competitive features added.

Overall, a good platform
Overall, it is good. My one suggestion would be to change the look of the different help articles. I spent hours reading and learning about features that did not apply to me. I only learned that they did not apply to me by calling the customer service line.
PROSI like that it is very easy for our event attendees to use. We rarely run into issues with them.
CONSThe ticketing process is confusing for sponsor tables and it does not have enough functionality to fit our needs.

The customer service has been phenomenal and we now have a lot of the features in our Blackbaud software but continue to use the functionality of the event s and text to give

We really like using the platform for our registration and auction purposes.
PROSEasy to use. Built in reports that are easy to pull.
CONSIt is a bit challenging to identify which charges are for which deposits to turn into accounting. It would be easier if there were batched weekly deposits vs individual deposits.

Like the features that One Cause has and the price decreased, so it made sense to switch.
