TouchPoint is a cloud-based church management system designed for churches and ministries of all sizes. It offers membership management, attendance logs, check-in and pledge management within a suite.

TouchPoint users can create member records, track active members and monitor membership growth using the member dashboard. Organization-management tools allow users to create member groups, manage group enrollment and assign members to an organization. The software also offers attendance management, which enables users to record member attendance using multiple methods such as roll sheets, barcode scanning and a mobile application.

TouchPoint contribution management lets users manage different types of contributions such as gifts, stock, foundation gifts and pledges. The product also offers customized reporting and a dashboard module for report creation based on outreach efforts, member attendance, contacts and financial data.

On the one hand, it was a vast improvement over Servant Keeper, which was the previous church management software we use. On the other hand, it has a pretty steep learning curve, and it is more expensive than our previous software.

Pros

I like everything that TouchPoint claims to offer. The idea of a cloud-based church management software system that could be accessed on any computer or smart device is a very convenient reality. For this reason, it was a great improvement to our previous church management software. The fact that they also offer an online giving app is an added bonus. The attendance taking feature is also very convenient. We now have people who take church attendance with their cell phones.

Cons

It is not at first user-friendly. It is not naturally intuitive, and the amount of time that the company gives in free tutorials is not enough to learn the system. For anything beyond their initial free tutorials, they charge a fairly expensive price for the help you need. We have had the software for almost a year, there are still a number of features that we have not set up.

We believe Touchpoint is the right tool for us to be able to better capture the participation and involvement of our membership. We are also now able to integrate our retreat registration information into our member records which provides a clearer window on how our membership is engaged. The communication tools via email/text will be something that will help leaders connect with and reach out to our various groups. We were looking for a "single source of truth" database solution and Touchpoint appears to have all tools we need to remove the data silos that have developed using excel, gmail or constant contact.

Pros

We like the user friendly interface, the ability to have a mobile reference for our church leadership to review member information, as well as the extensive support library and responsive help desk for specific situations. We are still exploring all the features and benefits, but I can see many scripts and tools that we can access to provide easy to run reports on things like first time givers, change in giving and other metrics.

Cons

I don't have any specific negatives to report as a new admin user. All new systems take some time getting used to, so that just comes with the territory of make a system switch.

This is the only ChMS I've used, so I can't compare it to others. I like the wildcard searching, mobile app, and attendance features.

Cons

Menus and diction choices can be unclear or unintuitive at times, such as exactly what certain tags do or the intricacies of the emailing system.
Fortunately, customer support has been very helpful so far.

My overall experience with TouchPoint has been beyond professional and efficient.

Pros

The best thing about this product is the support and the willingness of the developers to listen to feedback and make adjustments as needed. The software is very user friendly and robust. We are still learning what all it is capable of. And specifically touching on the great support - I have felt free to email the support team any and all questions and they have responded within the hour.

Cons

The things I like least about the software are mostly just things related to adjusting to doing things a different way that we previously did them. Probably my biggest critique would be not having the ability to upload individual bundles to our GL program that match exactly what hit the bank. Instead bundles can be uploaded to your GL system by a range of dates by fund.

After conquering my fear of intimidation of this software, the support team came to my rescue. They are so knowledgeable, and that helped me in all the areas where I needed it. As one of my church's Admin, I have to make sure our data remains updated, and with TouchPoint support, I am able to do that as I become more knowledgeable with ongoing use of the software.

Cons

I have no complaints about this software. It covers every category that my church needs to utilize.

Touch point provides a great way to allow parents to easily checkin kids to events in a way that is easy for them, easy for our staff, and easy for our IT. It gives us the security and metrics that we need, while also giving parents peace of mind.

We have had a great experience with TouchPoint! It interfaces with everything we use to make giving, communicating, and serving our family of faith simple and seamless.

Pros

TouchPoint is a comprehensive CMS. I have handled most all of the CMS functions for our church over the course of my time as a ministry assistant and there has not been one time where TouchPoint did not the capability to accomplish what we needed. From membership, attendance, and communications, to complicated online registrations, TouchPoint has checked all the boxes for our church. And if there has ever been a time when I needed help, their support staff is quick to respond and has a ready explanation/solution. I highly recommend TouchPoint!

Cons

There are not any "cons." TouchPoint is comprehensive so someone new to church management software will need some time to get comfortable finding their way around. But again, the support staff is always close by and ready to help.

I am able tho use the software on my phone to get phone numbers and addresses. I am able to send out emails for particular groups or parents of particular groups and that is easy to do.

Cons

The most frustrating thing for me is to need to pull a report or list and I am told that the software does not have the capability to do that and then I have to figure a way to may it work.

The ease of looking up member information and registration for various events and groups. Also the customer support is phenomenal! Response time and overall consideration of the IT support is one of the best I have ever experienced.

Cons

We did not have training on the program, and have spent a lot of man hours "figuring it out." I know that training is available but the cost was such that our administration felt it was prohibitive.

Ease of ability to find out information I need.

Pros

I love that it can do -everything-. It is where all folks manage their online giving, it is where we print new directories from, we can send our weekly newsletters from it, registration for summer programs, scheduling of acolytes etc., and so much more. It is "one stop shopping" for all things congregational management.

Cons

It seems to have been developed by people who don't have a lot of LGBTQ+ folks in their faith community, and we do. So there's a number of things we've run into with that, some of which have been able to be fixed by customer support, and others not, so that is a frustration.

We love how it covers all the aspects of ministry. They are always updating to suggestions and improving on the aspects of the software. The customer service is outstanding. We love how they have partnerships with Mailchimp, online donations, etc.

Cons

I have not found anything I don't like to be honest. If there is something we wished would be different we ask for advice and they either have another way to do things to they take the suggestion and sometimes make it happen.

Better unity among all of the minstries within our church and better communication with our members.

Pros

I like that all of the different ministries in our church can see the same information instead of all of us having our own systems. It's going to help us communicate more effectively with everyone we come in contact with.

Cons

Volunteer Management. I have not been able to utilize this feature as well as I'd like because it's a little clunky and hard to figure out. It also seems to be less customizable, so it's not as helpful as some of the other features. But I am still very new to TouchPoint, so hopefully I will figure out how to best use this feature along with everything else.

Membership engagement

Pros

I love the mobile responsive design. It makes is super easy for both administrators and church members to engage on their phone, tablets or laptops. The mobile app is also much better than what we've seen anywhere else.

Cons

Much of TouchPoint is geared toward engaging church membership and prospective members. The tool is powerful, so there is a learning curve.

The options for tracking useful information and the way we can customize the information that is important to us. It helps us to measure what we value rather than what is generally valued by the software.

Cons

The setup process requires a lot of time, but I don't know if there is anything that could realistically be done to make it easier. That's just part of the process.
