FileCloud a great alternative for SharePoint for clients that can't or won't move
The sales team and support team (when needed) have been professional and incredibly quick.
PROSIntegration with Office 365 applications and the ability to inherit the current NTFS permissions implemented with Active Directory integration makes this much easier to transition
CONSThe only con I have is also a pro; but its that some of our clients still have or need on-premises servers. FileCloud allows for these clients to benefit from the features that SharePoint brings though, without the on-premises licensing costs and management overhead.
Reason for choosing FileCloud

Responsible for the INtegration of new products and for all system technical issues
In principle, a good product but as mentioned somewhat flawed.
PROSEasy to use and quickly integrated.
CONSThe many little mistakes that sometimes make life harder for us. Search function which does not work properly. Data which is not properly backed up for whatever reason. New functions which are not really well thought out. Example DesktopEdit, data is locked but then not unlocked, etc.. The collaboration as in Sharepoint or other comparable products is missing here. Is a pity would enhance the product even more.
Reason for choosing FileCloud
Filecloud was the best choice in the area of SPLA and the architecture for several hosting customers
Reasons for switching to FileCloud

Great cloud solution without giving up control.
I love that our files stay on our server, yet we are able to get the full functionality of cloud computing in a fairly simple setup. It works great across all the devices and platforms that we have; if I need to, I can pull up any file I want on my phone, tablet, or laptop without having to be on a specific network. And not only can I access the files, I can edit them on the fly and my colleagues see the changes almost instantly.
CONSI would love to see an integrated way to securely send passwords to shared links.
Reason for choosing FileCloud
FileCloud let's use keep control of our files on our server and host our own cloud...problem solved.
Reasons for switching to FileCloud
With OneDrive we had to give up control of our files and put them in MS's cloud...it was nerve wracking to know our whole business was out there.

Great product a a moderate cost
We did not have to writhe the software ourselves. FileCloud came at just the right cost and set of features.
PROSIt is important to us to run the file exchange on premises. This product checks all the important checkboxes.
CONSNothing of significance so far. Frequent updates - I guess this is actually a benefit but it takes administrative resources.
Reason for choosing FileCloud
As mentioned above, we needed a solution that runs on our servers.

Easy option for FTP
FileCloud serves all of our FTP needs with ease. Easy to setup, great support to get you started. Haven't had to contact support since.
PROSDrag and drop works without a hitch, sharing files is easy, accounts and passwords are a snap.
CONSWhat I liked least is one of the things I like best. The fact that it's web-based was great for me! Having to explain this to some of our internal users was what I liked least. :D
Reason for choosing FileCloud
FileCloud has an easier option for Terms of Service and was able to keep a nice audit trail.
Reasons for switching to FileCloud
We wanted to get rid of an old physical server that we were using for our FTP needs.

Great Product, Great Customer Service!
Great. There was a hiccup with my first demo, but after that I have been able to get things moving in the right direction. We have been happy with the product so far and we are happy we made the switch to FileCloud.
PROSI like the ease of use and how easy it is to train employees on how to use the system. We had a very clumsy system before hand, and it was difficult for people to use and understand. This is the opposite.
CONSNothing, seems like things are working as expected and everyone in my organization is happy!
Reason for choosing FileCloud

A Great Enterprise File Sharing and Syncing Solution
10/10
PROSHaving used FileCloud for several months now, I can confidently say that it is one of the most robust file sharing and syncing solutions available. The software's interface is intuitive and user-friendly, making it easy to upload, share, and collaborate on files. I also appreciate FileCloud's advanced security features, including two-factor authentication, data encryption, and access controls, which give me peace of mind knowing that my files are secure. Additionally, FileCloud offers a wide range of integrations with other tools such as Microsoft Office, Google Drive, and Outlook, making it easy to sync and access files across platforms.
CONSOne downside of FileCloud is that it can be a bit complicated to set up and configure, especially for users who are not tech-savvy. While the software's interface is user-friendly, the initial setup process can be a bit overwhelming. Additionally, while FileCloud offers a mobile app for iOS and Android devices, it lacks some of the functionality of the desktop version, which may be limiting for users who need to access files on the go. Finally, FileCloud's pricing can be a bit steep for small businesses, especially for those who don't need all of the features that the software offers. Overall, while FileCloud may not be the most straightforward solution, it is an excellent choice for businesses looking for a secure and feature-rich file sharing and syncing solution.

A valid product
The product is very valid and powerful, with many features that are continuously added. The overal experience is very good. I will surely recommend FileCloud to other customers.
PROSThe DLP method is effective, as well the various options for file and folder sharing. The GUI is nice and smooth and easy to use and the integrations with other SSO technologies is easy to implement and very stable.
CONSThe file indexing is slower than other product on big file servers, and sometimes the indexed search is not working as expected. The file/folder listing is a little bit slow on big folders.
Reason for choosing FileCloud
More features.
Reasons for switching to FileCloud
Lack of features on the previous products.

FileCloud in an academic environment
It has been a bit of a rough ride. We had some difficulty getting everything working on our servers. It has required many calls to the Technical support to get the installation right. I think in the initial stages, it would be best if the FileCloud team shepherds the installation to avoid small errors (such as some packages missing etc.). Usually the IT team of the host institutions does not have the skill and familiarity with the FileCloud installation to spot something amiss.
PROSIn academic environments there is not much hierarchy in the organisation and nor is there a strict command structure. The need of the day is to be able to easily store, retrieve and share documents among a large indisciplined bunch of people. Most of the stored information is poorly documented and tagged. Yet, when running large scientific projects there are Commercial and Administrative documents which require hierarchical access controls and cannot be stored on public servers like Google or Apple drives. FileCloud permits us to customise access control for this particular environment. The interfaces with popular editing environments such as Libre Office and simultaneous online editing features are important for us. It is also quite critical that we have the software on our own servers as this is often a requirement on government supported institutions.
CONSIt is a but clunky and non-intuitive. The initial users are a bit put off by the steep learning curve that is required to use the tool. The number of options and switches are daunting. We are as yet at the beginning stages of this use. It remains to be seen how this proceeds and becomes an integral part of our organisation. And we are cash strapped, so keeping the subscription prices low would be a definite plus. If the per user per year price goes up we would be hard pressed to continue.
Reason for choosing FileCloud
1) Keeping recurrent costs low with users added as required. 2) Meeting our requirements of (a) version control (b) sharing with non-users (c) simultaneous online file editing 3) On campus standalone server to host FileCloud service. 4) References from other Govt agencies and banks which require high security and high volume of data.

FileCloud File Sharing Solution
Very good! The customer support related topics are being handled within a day and the software is running stable. Release of updates / patches is also on a regular basis, so the software is being taken care of from the developers.
PROSWe were in search for a possiblity to provide our customers a simple, yet secure file sharing solution. After trying different competitors (OwnCloud, GoodSync etc.) we stuck with FileCloud since it is delivering a good Webportal and the possiblity to provide the customer with the necessary admin-roles.
CONSInitially we tried to use the real-time sync, but as the description suggested back then it was implemented in a beta-phase with a max recommended item count to 100k items, which was to small for us. But we still found a solution using the webinterface, which is currently meeting the needs of our customers.
Reason for choosing FileCloud
Based on the simple pricing infrastructure, as well as the possibility to implement it as SaaS made us choose FileCloud;

FileCloud Keeps Us Connected
FileCloud has allowed us to sync our data across several locations and given us a way to access files remotely when employees work outside the office or if a server were to go down. This level of access and redundancy with our work has kept things running smoothly even through things like the COVID shutdown.
PROSWe rely heavily on FileCloud Server Sync to keep the servers in our three offices synced so that employees can all work from the same set of files. This is critically important when we have employees from different offices working on the same projects. FileCloud helps us prevent the formation of data silos where project files collect in a single office and other offices don't have access.
CONSThe most challenging part of using FileCloud is getting things set up on the various servers and setting up users for the first time. Once you've done it a couple of times it gets easier. As a small company without an IT department some of the options during setup can seem intimidating.

FileCloud is a must for Work From Home Data Access
It has been superb. Our users are very happy with the product to give them secure access to their data without the need for VPN and are also thrilled that they can email now large files as secured web access links that are password protected.
PROSThis software enabled our department to give our staff members the ability to access their file server data over HTTPS and not even need a VPN to get their data. In addition, the product comes with a drive mount client or a sync client to help users out who may have a slower internet connection from home. The Best File Sharing solution for access anywhere
We implemented FileCloud to allow our users to safely share larges files internally and externally. While using it, we found additional features we didn't think we needed. It's a very beneficial addition to our organization.

Drives can be mapped to our machines for access without having to log into the portal and it also makes sharing files internally and externally a breeze. The user portal is very user friendly and the admin portal which is easy to use ensures the proper controls are in place.
