SAP BusinessObjects allows users to integrate with external systems, such as Salesforce and Microsoft Office and combine data from these for executing business analytics and reporting functions. The product also features drag-and-drop interface, which allows users to customize reports using required parameters.

BusinessObject to simplify complex database analysis

BusinessObject provides great analytical tools for companies to make smarter decisions, it can operate on very large scale databases and it is relatively stable and trouble free. Users can learn it easily and provides many visual tools therefore different and simple to read formats to analyze data and make decisions easier and quicker.

Pros:

BusinessObjects is capable to run and process databases with millions of records, it has very good visual tools that are easy for users to read and analyze making it a tool easy to learn for users. It is flexible to run on any of the popular databases such as MS-SQL or Oracle and it is a stable software requiring little intervention from system administrators, usually once setup it runs trouble free.

Cons:

It is complex to setup and requires more extensive training for the system administrators to operate it in the background. Also it is an expensive software and requires additional licensing from Oracle or any database developer which then adds more high cost to it.

This product give us the ability to pull reports with ease. Once you have successfully composed a report, you are able to build on the structure as needed.

Cons:

Sometimes finding a field can be difficult if you are not sure what exactly you are looking for. With time, this gets easier.

It is a tool that can be integreted with other applications, it can also work with a lot of data and build ad hoc reports. Finally, reporting creation from information cubes is friendly when youa are heavy user.

Cons:

Something that needs to be improved is the visualization of the reports, they should migrate to a more user-friendly dashboard. Another issue is that it is a bit complex to understand how it works when you just start using it.

One of the best aspects of SAP BusinessObjects is its easy to use GUI, which allows even those who are not well versed in SQL to create complex reports. I find it very convenient to share these reports between different people and business units. The system's ease of use is further highlighted by its Excel-based design; It works similar to a pivot table, making data manipulation simpler.

I have been using SAP Business for reporting and data visualization, and it has been very helpful in meeting our organization's requirements. We have connected it with multiple databases such as DB2 and Sybase, and its data storage capabilties are quite robust. The platform is undoubtedly powerful and capable of handling heavy tasks with ease.

Cons:

The learning curve is long, training is needed to be able to handle it properly, the user interface needs improvement, so that it is easier and more intuitive to use.

SAP BO - Web Intelligence

Overall experience has been good. It can host a lot of reports which can be scheduled for month end reporting. Automated this application using automation anywhere and reaped a lot of benefits.

I love the scheduling feature of the reports wherein you can easily schedule reports to be executed on a particular day.

Cons:

Reports with data more than 1 lakh rows takes a lot of time and even crashes sometimes

We use SAP BusinessObjects in order to track both operational and strategic company KPI's. The dashboards are very easy to customize. BI tool is very helpful in order to make forecasts.

Cons:

Data export is not offered. Dashboards are really helpful. But sometimes user can need to export the data in excel form.

At first, the software is looking complicated, but using it very easier after passing an induction allow exporting data to another tool for further exploitation, good data cleaning and KPI monitoring easy to set up , handle and customize

Cons:

the cost of the license is as high as it cant allow small-scale business to buy and use
