About Cvent Event Management

Cvent Event Management is a cloud-based solution that helps midsize organizations and enterprises with venue sourcing, online event registration, budget management and payment processing. The solution enables event planners to track the attendance of multiple events and capture relevant data.

Cvent Event Management enables event managers to create event calendars where attendees can view upcoming events as well as sync them with their calendars. The solution provides budget management capabilities that track funds across multiple events, calculate each meeting spend and overall variable costs.

Cvent Event Management has a reporting feature, which offers built-in reports and also allows users to create customized reports. The data from all reports can also be exported. Other features offered by the tool include custom event websites, contact management, mobile websites and social sharing. Cvent offers integration with other third-party applications, which include Salesforce, Concur, Marketo and Eloqua.

I like Cvent, very user friendly and easy to figure things out if I don't have previous experience in it.

Pros:

I use Cvent daily for my job, I mostly use it for attendee management and reporting. I love the new custom reports and registration dashboard.

Cons:

N/A - Cvent gets better each year. I wish the reporting wasn't so siloed into the various categories because sometimes I need fields that aren't available on that particular report, so I end up using Registration Details or Invitee Details report to essentially create my own report.

I really like ease of creating events and the customer support is outstanding! The Event Management is a great value for the money.

Cons:

I'm not a fan of Valerie. I feel like it just takes me in circles and I end up contacting customer support anyhow.

Great Event Management Tool - Especially Conferences!

Does a good job of informing attendees at a conference of where the location of different presentations are, easy to get information out to all attendees should there be alerts or changes, and easy to integrate the information

Cons:

When we used it, some users reported that the information was incomplete or would frequently crash - these may be isolated or user based errors.

Excellent Events Management Platform

We have been using Cvent Event Management for over a decade. Throughout that time, I've shopped competitors to see if we need to go elsewhere. Time after time, Cvent has been the only platform who could meet our needs at a competitive price. Well, not just at a competitive price, but AT ALL. Overall, it's been a very positive experience. Support is super-quick and our account rep and client success manager have always been very knowledgeable and on top of things. I really don't see us ever leaving them for a different events platform at any point in the future.

It's got a TON of flexibility that will fit just about every use case. The pricing is really good compared to a lot of other platforms.

Cons:

Sometimes you have to do workarounds for things that should just be normal features, such as adding images to the session descriptions.

The value for the price was really outstanding. The features that we use would have cost much much more with some of the other platforms or were just completely unavailable.

Great Customer Support

My overall experience with CVENT is pretty good. We use this platform regularly as we conduct many events in a year. I do not feel like it is very user friendly but it does have capabilities that other platforms do not have which is vital to the way we gather data during the registration process.

Pros:

CVENT has a lot of capabilities that other platforms do not such as the ability to link questions, have sub questions and do conditional settings. The customer support is great and has always been able to find a solution to my issues.

Cons:

There are often many areas you have to modify for a single final action. For example, for an event to be live, you have to have the event live, the registration active AND the admission types active. Some of the design features are very limited and modifying things like images can be very challenging. We often have repeat business and are finding that when we copy an event, there are a lot of hidden settings that get copied over and can make the new copy a bit messy.

We also have the On Arrival badging system that works really well.

It is a total game-changer for event planning! This platform makes it super easy to create landing pages for our events.The on arrival feature is a total lifesaver. Being able to check in attendees and print badges on the spot really levels up the whole experience for everyone involved. Plus, it's super handy for keeping track of who's actually shown up.

Cons:

I wish the site designer was a little easier to use, as sometimes it is hard to move things around and can be a bit clunky.

Pros:

Centralized area for all functions. Kept everything in order. Hopefully next year it goes smoother. We're willing to learn more of the program.

Cons:

It was a bit confusing when it came to creating groups and assigning users to groups. Our event team didn't have the time to train. We had a short amount of time within three months.
