Excellent Training for Home Care Aides
I like the integration with our scheduling software, ClearCare. I also like the ease of printing certificates.

Quality Training for Caregivers
I have had no issues in the 2 years we have been using CareAcademy to onboard our caregivers. They like the training and I believe it is effective for our purposes. I recently took the Annual Caregiving training required by our state and found many useful tidbits myself.
PROSCareAcademy's course are easy to follow, repetitive, and the modules vary in length and content so the course is engaging until it's over. Quizzes within the courses help caregivers remember the content and many score with 90%-100% passing grades. I like that the caregivers are engaged in home care and not showing training by facility staff. The supervisory models are what our managers aspire to be, and I like that the caregivers are shown the wrong way to do things from time to time which gives them an opportunity to examine their own behaviors.
CONSThe reporting is difficult. I have to export the entire list of people who took classes, then delete and sort to get the information I need. Would love to see a pop-out dashboard with classes completed by caregivers in a certain time period.

Training for In Home Caregiving
We have streamlined our online training which has saved us time and money.
PROSCareAcademy is mobile friendly and integrates with Clear Care as a Single Sign On which simplifies the caregivers access to new hire and annual training. We love the ability to add and change curriculums based on the needs of our training requirements. The video library is great as well!
CONSThe ability for an admin to reset the attempts for a caregiver to retake an exam would be great!

Home Care in-service tracking headaches gone!
I have been in the home care business for 11 years and this software has been a time-saver for tracking employee trainings as we are in NY state and the requirements change daily.
PROSCareAcademy makes getting the in-service requirements complete from start to finish in a manner in which the employees love, since they can do it on their own time, and a manner in which we love, as it makes it so easy to track!
CONSMy only con is, although it integrates with our system, when a caregiver completes a training I wish it would put that into ClearCare for payroll as opposed to me having to go back and forth on the day of payroll to see who completed what training. (Maybe the software can do this, and we just don't have it set up! That would be great. We pay 1 hour at minimum wage for each completed training.)

CareAcademy had the features we needed the most. It integrated with our system ClearCare and made getting the Caregivers enrolled very easy. Tracking their progress is a breeze and being able to customize the different trainings if need be for each individual based on the type of client they will working with makes the services better than all the rest!
Reasons for switching to CareAcademy
We switched for the ease and time-saving features. We used to have to run off packets and get them out to the caregivers and now the training is wherever they are.

CareAcademy for home health of non-elderly residents.
I am very happy with the program. The team and developers are making additions, corrections and modifications regularly to make it more widely usable among more than just one population of home health residents.
PROSThe team build was excellent. They listened and geared our build around our specific needs. They also listened to what was not working and the developers are looking into if they are feasible. They have added a number of classes since we began the program and the ease of adding those to our core made it worthwhile. The ability to track training, this is the best feature for administrators.
CONSLimited report types. Hopefully they will add more of these capabilities soon. Several staff are down as failing classes that they finished going through but did not test for yet. Others show a failing class even if they show a 100%. If the course was reset to allow another try, a code may work better than showing failing. These two issues has cost us a few new hires.

I talked with the team, went through a demo and was set up with a account to test the product out. The ease of use, wide variety of classes, price was reasonable and [SENSITIVE CONTENT] classes.

Great Tool
We did not originally want to utilized e-learning as our primary training tool. We really enjoy seeing our caregivers and want to keep the personal connection with them. When COVID started to become a greater concern, we decided to utilize CareAcademy as a more go to training resource. While we still want to keep our personal connection with our caregivers, I believe we will continue to utilize CareAcademy as a primary training source whether in-person or online.
PROSI really like the material and the content in the library.
CONSI would like the flexibility to reorder classes once they are set. I find sometime that the order of classes does not flow from one topic to the other. Two-Way communication with caregivers and storing caregiver training profiles would be very helpful.

We were using ClearCare and saw that CareAcademy was an added product we could access to help get us out of a pinch when hiring workers who lived over 20 miles from the office and would possible be reluctant to joining our team because of the driving distance for training.

To view our active caregivers weekly schedule, automatically be able to message caregivers through text & email in their profile
CONSWhen we edited an existing shift with a different caregiver, the caregiver rate will not stay as is & will be change automatically to a different rate. We then I to make sure to enter the correct rate for the corresponding client rate.

Care Academy Partnership
Overall we've been really happy with the transition to CareAcademy.
PROSCareAcademy has been a useful tool. The integration with our scheduling platform is really helpful, as we don't have to create more profiles for caregivers. We simply activate them. The classes are well put together, the library is thorough and well-organized. The user interface is FAR better than our previous provider.
CONSSome of the aspects of administrator usage are clunky. Assigning groups of classes, the terminology they use, and the way to assign specific classes to specific employees is a bit challenging. It takes some getting used to.

CareAcademy Training
We were so lucky to be on the platform before the pandemic started or we would have been at a huge disadvantage. We were able to continue to onboard and train our caregivers remotely and continue to care for our clients. We were so grateful for CareAcademy and their continued support through such a challenging time.
PROSI like that it thoroughly covers our state training requirements, and is tailored for our employees in our specific industry. It is also cell phone compatible, which was vital for our staff.
CONSThere is nothing I don't like, but I am always excited about new course content being added.

I know we looked at several options, and cannot remember their names (which says something right there), but we ultimately chose CareAcademy because it was the most mobile friendly and their team seemed genuinely invested the end user (caregiver) experience.

Care Academy Makes a Difference
Ease of use, meeting and exceeding our company standards, and exceptional customer service all lead to our complete satisfaction of the Care Academy product. We are able to provide excellent and ongoing training for our employees and know that our feedback is valued.
PROSCare Academy integrated completely into our client/caregiver software platform which really makes a difference for onboarding and continued trainings.
CONSAs an administrator, I would appreciate more training on the actual use of the product. My understanding is that such trainings will soon be offered.

Senior Living
We liked out sales rep. She was bubbly, answered our questions, kept in contact. Since then our trainer has been blah..
PROSWe love the modules, good information, not too long with many breaks to check knowledge. Actors are believable, good role playing. Content is thought provoking and asks and answers questions along the way.
CONSOur company wants the ability to show some not all modules in our group setting at General Orientation and allow the new hires to sign off on the modules viewed in a group setting. Care Academy says they can't do that. When we reviewed Career Smart, they could remove the "firewall" so employees could skip to the test. We want that flexibility. We are a Residential Care Facility for the Elderly. We have 5 senior living communities. We are not a home health agency. The modules will apply but they are not exactly 100% applicable to our facility setting.

Love it
It has lessened my workload with them making sure everyone is doing what needs to be done.
PROSCareAcademy is easy to use. I set up the caregiver on the courses that I want them to take and they do the rest.
CONSI wish it would be a little bit more integrated with Axis care. I wish I just needed to log into one, not both.
