Pros

Smartrecruiters has very nice template for creating a job and sending emails to the candidate. This ATS is very easy to use.

Cons

Can not delete the candidate from the job, if we do it send them a rejection email. Job posting- it doesn't show the location of the job location. need to be update this ATS for these points.

This system is super simple, easy to navigate and your best bet for FREE! Provides great candidate flow.

Cons

Doesn't have an HR side to it. Need ATS system to integrate with our HR side. Doesn't provide document signage.

Good interface, it's free, but better to pay some sum of money and get at least something than pay nothing and get nothing.

Cons

Maybe SmartRecruiters is good for some concrete spheres, but not IT for sure. I have posted 3 jobs there and received no application during 2 months. Still hope that I can get at least one.

We are a very small recruiting agency and went with a free version of SmartRecruiters to start. It is an excellent value for the price (free). Allows you to post jobs, candidates can apply online and you can send and receive emails in the system. You can also assign ratings to candidates and type in any notes about the candidate.

Pros

The ability to send and receive emails in the system and keep a record of past emails for referral. The ability to take notes. You can move several candidates to a different stage in the pipeline at once.

Cons

The free version doesn't have email templates (except for Rejection letters).
No customization in the free version.
The paid version is too expensive for what you get compared to other systems, in my opinion.

Advice to Others

A great free product and I've heard good things about their next-level system, it just doesn't meet our needs any longer

Smartrecruiter is an amazing piece of technology written by recruiters for recruiters. It's flow process is intuitive and allows you to design your own recruitment process as well as put in place job and offer approval processes. It's great for managing candidates through a process and to store into future pipelines as necessary.

It allows you to upload and store resumes as well as build different job and offer templates you can share with candidates. It has built in 360 Outlook integration which is great for setting up candidate interviews with hiring managers.

I LOVE SmartRecruiters. Never before have I had all my hiring managers and teams truly involved in the recruiting process. No only do our teams use the product they actually like using the product. The real-time collaboration makes decisions quick and seamless. We are also able to tie in all of our assessments, reference checks, and background checks throughout the process. Tired of sending paper offers and having to wait for everyone to scan them? We were too, but SmartRecruiters has an amazing integration with DocuSign. Thank you for finally making a product that works!

Haven't used it for too long but did a trial and it looks great. Very easy to use and work in. Easy to see different notes, contact numbers, resumes, and other information that is beneficial to the hiring process.

Wasn't too much wrong from what I saw. Ran smoothly, easy to look at and navigate through. Could have a few tweaks with inputting information, but nothing too big.

Recommendations

Evaluate other softwares before downing one. You will realize which company offers more for the price, and which ones are the easiest to use.

Very customizable & I like that you can copy reqs for similar job postings. I like the notifications "Bell" icon, letting me know new applicants for my reqs.

It glitches a lot. There have been so many times that I try to update the status of a candidate, along the hiring process, and I cannot. Sometimes I would get a message saying that the candidate no longer existed or it would revert back to a previous status.

Recommendations

Different system work for different people. Smart Recruiters is mainly user friendly, but has a lot of kinks to work out. I would recommend everyone try the system and see if it works for them.

1) applicants can see where they are in process
2)Filters not appearing correctly and it will not add correct filters for my cities even when I add “my Active” sometimes I can not see my reqs
3) The candidates know where they are in the process. They also know that if I move them over to another rec. I'm not comfortable with this.
4) Sometimes they don't upload everything from the resume, nor even upload the resume at all.
5) Too much notifications. I'm running out of space for my email account.

Recommendations

This software is efficient for companies that require small scale recruiting.

Easy to use interface. Hiring Managers love it. Excellent at posting jobs to multiple boards and locations with a single click. I love the Hire Loop which gives me visibility into all activities on jobs and candidates in one place. I think SmartRecruiters is a great tool. Customer account management and customer support are top-notch. From the Hiring Manager's perspective, it's perfect.

Likes Least

Difficult setup for 3rd-party recruiters. Difficult getting any kind of data from the tool although I know this is being worked on. Offer Approvals, system emails, and administrative setup. Can only opt-out of emails at a high level, so if on a hiring team, you get emails for all jobs or none.

Recommendations

Think long and hard about your 3rd party recruiters. If you use a number of them and seemingly add more regularly, be prepared to have to wait some time from invitation to being able to assign them jobs.

It's all about your company and culture and fit. This is a great tool for organizations that don't have a ton of process around it and allow their hiring managers to run the show.

When I discovered SmartRecruiters I worked for a smaller mom and pop business. We didn't have a prior application tracking system. This product significantly improved our processes. It allowed us to post positions easily and manage our applications and share applications to other users. It was easy to set up and to post once and distribute these postings to the job aggregators we chose. The support team was very friendly and trained us. As we expanded our business this software kept up. I highly recommend trying it. We were able to improve our KPI with time to fill.

I've worked with better ATSs and I've worked with much worse ATSs. All in all SmartRecruiters is very middle of the road. There is nothing I particularly love or hate about it.

Easy to disposition candidates and enjoy the delayed disposition feature.

Cons

The mobile app is pretty much worthless. They're woring on it now but it is essentially little more than a baby version with little funtionality at the time being.

As a recruiter it's made my life a bit easier with submissions, but other than that it didn't do much for me. However as an external user of it, that's not all that surprising.

Pros

I like that SmartRecruiters gives me one place to login to work on reqs for a particular client. They can add and remove me as they need to, and being able to submit resumes there directly into their process is nice.

Cons

My clients didn't particularly love the software, and the look of it is a bit dated. Other than submitting resumes to make sure they're in the right bucket, I don't get any other use out of it. The resume parsing is OK, not great. It gets mostly the name and everything right, but often times messes up the paragraphs in the experience section.

We ended up moving to another vendor, which I am much more impressed with. Smartrecruiters is good for a basic job posting system, but beyond that, it is clearly lacking.

Pros

I liked that we could use smartrecuiters to post positions across multiple job boards for one set fee. I also appreciated some of the functionalities like email templates, ratings etc.

Cons

Inability to schedule interviews with candidates and internal hiring members, inability to get notifications when a candidate has emailed us, inability to do so many basic functions. The user interface is also far too complex for such a dialed down system.

Good product, but quite pricey. Customer service was not the best when I had questions and I couldn't cancel jobs after the platform costed money. I was not notified about it costing until I tried to login one day and still had people calling me a year later about jobs floating around that I had posted on SR.

This used to be a free product and then one day it went sky high on price. I used it quite heavily but found it difficult to get jobs to free job boards.

We recently starting using several recruiting applications to help in difficult to hire positions. Smartrecruiters makes it easy to share candidate and job information with departmental employees and it's easy to store and update data within the system

We need to be able to customize a recruiting stream. Now everyone added to the hiring team can see everything about each candidate, even confidential information. This is a little tricky. We should be able to allow and disallow what people can see at each step throughout the process

I can manage all of my hiring projects in one place, different levels of collaboration, integration with a huge variaties of job boards, easily customisable. you can create all types of templates for different flows from rejection emails, to offer emails. integrates with other systems like video interviews or assessments which creates a smooth and easy flow.
they are now introducing a new feature - an AI assistant and that should be a massive addition to the functionality - the system will now be able match your JD with the most suitable candidates

Cons

it might feel a bit overwhelming with a lot of features that you don't necessarily use. there's lots of functionality which is great for bigger companies but which I personally don't use and they sometimes slow me down, though I totally understand the necessity of those.
I'm lacking notifications to respond to the candidates if I haven't been in touch with them for a while

I love the interface and how easy it is to use this software. SmartRecruiters makes it super easy to post position vacancies, filter through applicants and get going throughout the entire process from recruitment to hiring.

I haven't run into any issues with the software, I think there is a lot of value for what they offer even if you're on the free plan and even more if you're on a paid plan which makes perfect sense.

Pros

Many features are free (including the job posting)! You'll have to pay to promote your post, but they'll post it on the site (and other job platforms like Indeed) for free.

Cons

The applicant management isn't very user-friendly. Also, other jobs (from other companies) are promoted on you job post (that's understandable though, since it's a free tool; I assume it's not the case when you have a paid subscription).

SmartRecruiter is an excellent software to find jobs for those looking for one, with follow ups and tips from the website.

Cons

Free version has a lot of features, but, naturally, does not have many important features that the paid version does.

More efficient process and less time spent having to account for data and manage a spreadsheet of candidates.

Pros

It's very user-friendly and has a social media look and feel to it so most people can relate to the functionality.

Cons

When I export certain reports into excel, they don't always come out clean and I have to do a lot of deleted and un-merging of cells, but once I get that done, the data is very useful.
