Cons

GUI is not intuitive .. you have to figure out the menu system to get to where you want.
As an employee, can't see PTO by work groups.
As an exempt employee, I still see screens that are for hourly employees.
Unable to do "what if's ..." example: how much PTO will I have accumulated on a certain date?

Customer support is great. Submitting tickets is easy and they are quick to get back to you. We have an issue that has been going on 2+ months now and they are diligent in trying to resolve it and continue to trouble shoot the issue and bring in other departments that might be able to help.

Pros

Employee accountability for their own time sheets.
Ability to clock in/out from PC
Web based so it is always up to date and staff can access from anywhere.

Cons

Some of our pay calculations do not always work right - have to manipulate the system by hand. The employee registration process has been hard for some staff due to switching computers constantly (they are nurses so they move departments/computers often).

I like the ability to pull almost any data we need on my own. There has been only a couple of instances where we have had to ask Kronos to write a custom report for us and I'm sure with some further training we might be able to do those on our own in the future. The other great experience is the people - just about everyone we've worked with is amazing, from the implementation teams to the technical support staff.

Cons

The customization during implementation was very involved, which I guess can be a pro or a con. There have also been several instances where the system was down for almost a full day. This is completely unacceptable.

Overall we really like Kronos. There are just a couple things that would really help the SAS to be great - mainly making the user interface more intuitive and simplified.

Pros

Timekeeping works really well and does everything that we need for our business.
Reporting functionality is really robust. Love it!
Mobile app is getting better and better. Glad to see new hire paperwork on there now.
Lots of good reporting options now that we're using the scheduler and timekeeping.

Cons

Workflows are difficult to build and the functionality can be limiting
Advanced scheduler needs a lot of work. Too complicated for the end user - managers and employees.
Employee self service should be more customizable. End users are looking for simplicity and easy navigation.

Takes a lot of attention to manage and up keep. Customer support is hard to get in contact with, they refer you to their help libraries and on line posts 99% of the time. They can take weeks to resolve what should be simple issues.

Won’t work on a Mac. Their IT can’t figure out why and wants to blame JavaScript. I gave them complete access to my computer and they couldn’t get it to work.

The system provides an easy to use punch in/punch out process using bio-metric fingerprint scan, there are customize-able dashboards and reporting functions, and if you have a straightforward business model without the need to segregate costs into multiple Job Orders this is a great system.

Cons

The Workforce Ready terminals do not support barcode readers, you have to select everything from a list. They also don't display in the same way you have your Job Orders or Cost Centers setup, they only display as a list view, with some qualifiers for searching. If you need detailed job costing, there are a lot of additional steps required to set up and manage all the data, and there is no inherent connectivity to ERP systems. Middleware is provided to help move data in and out of other systems, but it all has to be custom programmed, which you as the customer are required to provide. If you are using a standard job prefix, there is a limit of 750 records in any one folder, and once you surpass that limit, the functionality of the "Tree View" (which is how everyone is accustomed to viewing a file structure) reverts to a "List View" which is absolutely useless for a large collection of data due to the way it is formatted. Once the limit is reached, the previous functionality can not be restored, which causes a lot of heartache for people that have been accustomed to visually finding the Job number and then have to learn how to search using "Like" or "Between". Knowing this up front would have prevented the purchase of the product, but it took literally weeks of dialog with support to just discover what the issue was when it occurred, and the software engineering team had no interest in fixing the code that caused it.

General note to anyone considering Workforce Ready: We have been using this product since 2012. I seldom need to contact Support for assistance as this product tends to work great with minimal problems. When I have reached out for assistance the staff has done a great job resolving problems in a timely manner. You can expect a great product, courteous and professional service.

Pros

We have a wide variety of pay codes and rules. We have built in overtime, shift differentials, Differentials for field training, etc. I have worked with other software programs and Workforce Ready is a program that has been extremely accurate for time keeping. Workforce is one of the best software programs I have worked on for payroll. It is easy to use and understand.

Cons

The only issue I have encountered is when I have employees with multiple codes that fall on a holiday. An example would be: Patrol Officer, who is an FTO while working a holiday. Some hours just don't move over to payroll. However I understand the problem because we are "over-loading" the program with multiple codes.

We like the ability to easily see the entire team's time on a dashboard that can be customized to our individual preferences. The ability to approve time sheets for multiple employees easily and quickly is also a highlight of the product. The reporting function is easy to customize reports as needed and share them with others.

Cons

The only con that really has impacted us has been the inconsistent performance. It has been inconvenient because the system has been non-functional on the days we are trying to close out time tracking to process our payroll. This happened consistently for 4 payrolls over an 8 week period. While there were many people at Kronos working on the problem, it never seemed to have the root cause handled so it would not continue to occur.

This software is not for the smaller type businesses. It pairs well with large organizations that have multiple aspects they research for their business. Such as daily reports on over time, bereavement, holiday pay etc. Can be a good tool to manage breaks and early ins and out. Can create a pattern of schedules for those employees whose schedules don't change.

Cons

There's not too much negative other than it's a large system and there are so many components to it, that training must be an on going aspect for management to take in order to continue being successful using the system. I've been using it for over a year and am still finding new features.

We use this system to distill the whole process of paying all employees to a total of two mouse clicks.

Pros

I have not had any experience with setting up this application, since it was already in place when I started. This application is mostly used for HR/finance purposes and manages everything related to employees' benefits (salary, paid time off, etc.). You can set up report templates with auto-filled in details, which makes the work of completing a form easy and straight-forward. This is one of those tools that you can continuously keep improving and expanding its scope.

Cons

The training period before a new person is comfortable with the software is quite steep, primarily because the system is very extensive. Although I have to say, once you know your way around, the interface is intuitive.

Clocking in before and clocking out after your work hours is the main role of Kronos workforce. It is efficient and user friendly. But it's way more than a time stamp tracker. You can access your vacation credits, request for one, track it and link it to your schedule viewer. You can approve and review your time card, payroll cannot process your time card unless you approve it. It assures that discrepancies can be fixed before it moves forward. It has tons of features, i don't think i can cover everything in one go.

Cons

Some of my coworkers advised that they can access the clock-in capability of the program outside our closed network. I understand that it's web based but this might cause integrity issues. I'm not sure if that featured can be tailored to be locked out if your not logged in the company's network.

This software is great because it lets you organize your workforce schedule and keep track of it. You can also organize for a long time ahead. I used it for my production technicians, which travel all around the world and all have different schedules and diffferent pay. It was great because it calculated the pay for everyone according to their job title and level in the company.

Cons

What I liked least about this software is that we have a really complicated salary scale and each year I have to upgrade it in the system, but I have to start from scratch everytime. I can't just modify the rules that I created the year before.

I was a part of the implementation team for Kronos Workforce Ready at my company. It was hard to implement because we didn't have a lot of data that they needed, and honestly the data migration needed multiple "bad batches" of data because their team wasn't prepared to implement the changes we discussed.

Pros

I like how easy it is to learn how to run reports and make them work for our business. In addition, it is nice being able to send documents and tasks to employees and corporate team members without having to do extra manual work.

Cons

Kronos will tell you can customize evvverything in their system, but it's a lot of talk to be honest. It's hard because you'll want to add in a single field that's unique that you can also run a report on, but you can either add it and not report on it, or add it into a field that doesn't make sense and then not report on it.

Cons

The overall use of this product is great. Its very user friendly, there isn't many functions so you don't feel overwhelmed when using it to clock in and clock out.

Cons

Although I did enjoy the limited features, I wish there was more to this product than just punching in and punching out for the day. I never really messed around with the other codes on it.

I like that it easy to access your time clock information (i.e. time card, punch times) all right from the home screen of the time clock.

Cons

The finger scanner doesn't always work properly. It is a highly sensitive scanner and any sort of substance on your hand messes up the scan

This software allows me to sign in and look at my attendance for any day and check that hours are correct.

Cons

Sometimes the information is hard to understand on the platform and it automatically logs out pretty quickly.

Easy and efficient way to manage my teams hours

Pros

Ease with which employee information can be reviewed, revised and/or changed. Approval/disapproval are alsonoretty simple to do.

Cons

When you make a change or move from one screen to another, the system take a while to load or save the informed that one changed.
