People Pray via Livestream

PROS

The customer service for the production team is stellar. Not only do they check to see if the encoder is online every week they contact me directly to make sure it is fixed if needed. They've been able to resolve any last minute changes to my streams and have called me mid-service if there is a problem. The newly added security features are a plus! As a Jewish organization, the extra options adde dlast August/September have been vital to keeping unwanted folks out of our chats.

CONS

Adding extra individual streams after you've used your contracted number shouldn't be more expensive than the per stream cost in your contract.

The product is as-advertised, but the customer service is exceptional

It has been an excellent experience that exceeded our expectations. We are new to this type of system, and did not know what to expect, but it has been pleasant and efficient.

PROS

When we decided to contract with liveControl, their set up team made it extremely easy to install and integrate all of the equipment. They worked with us throughout the process to make sure we had the right camera angles, lighting, etc. to make the broadcast as professional looking as possible. They have continued to have our back, Like when our Internet glitched in the middle of the night, they contacted us immediately to make sure that we could get back online ASAP

CONS

One major feature that is missing is the ability to use a custom thumbnail on the web player for each recording. The system uses whatever happened to be in front of the camera at the moment it went live as its thumbnail, and it makes it very difficult to make sense of the archived recordings. I am not a programmer, but it seems like that would be a very easy feature to add, and it would add a lot to the ease of use for the end-user.

Primarily, it was customer service. From my very first phone call, the staff was more than willing to make sure all of my questions were answered, and that I felt comfortable. Many of the other products that I inquired about, did not have the same level of service. Since I am not the tech person for our organization, I needed someone to speak to me in plain language. Life control did that.

I want this to be as good as I thought it would be

Great customer service, great help getting set-up, filming rarely goes as I expect no matter how many notes I leave for the camera operators.

PROS

It is easy to schedule and I trust that something will be filmed

CONS

I wish the camera operators were better.

Does what we need and great customer service

Bring your broadcasting to the next level

I think it’s been very positive and it’s a good company. We’ve had some growing pains as they’ve been growing as well but it’s still very much worth it. I do think the camera operators are sometimes a bit out to lunch and they could do a better job.

PROS

If you’ve been using stationary live control camera at this point it’s going to basically look like a security camera when you moved to this company the quality and the interactivity is really incomparable. There’s lots of things to work out with sound and lighting but they do try very hard and they’re always available as you fix things and get your broadcast better and better.

CONS

Last week we really had a challenge because I mistakenly set the broadcast to begin at 5 PM the operators called us because nobody was in the sanctuary until 6 PM so they stopped the feed and and restarted at 6 unfortunately there was some sort of bug monitor in the system and it prevented our feed on our browser from being live and was very very hard for our elderly people you do not belong to social media to watch it on a different platform that night. I called him during the service to try to rectify it as people were calling me.

Singular solution for the live-streaming synagogue or church

We don’t have the time, personnel or funds to dedicate to live-streaming which is becoming and shall remain a critical element of our worship and learning modalities. Livecontrol makes it possible for us to look like pros. And my colleagues in huge synagogues say that Livecontrol scales up easily and at the right price point to service large bigger budget productions too.

PROS

Livecontrol saved the High Holy Days this year (and all our services before and since!). The moving cameras, energizing visuals, ease of use, customizable and scaleable features, and the top notch customer service are perfect for both neophytes and the experienced streaming organizations alike.

CONS

That when I didn’t know how to do something, I didn’t think to contact them earlier. Five minutes with their responsive customer service solved my problem.

Reasons for switching to LiveControl

Livecontrol could do what others couldn’t - high quality, non-static film/streaming - at a cost we could afford. And they guided us through the onboarding with ease.

Professional hands off immersive experience

PROS

Live Control offers us the ability to keep our Shabbat rules. We can stay hands off on Shabbat. All we have to do is schedule the service ahead of time and the professional camera operators at Live Control do the rest. Live Control worked with us to install 4 cameras in our sanctuary. Their new software supports using all of our cameras and offers congregants at home an immersive experience. They have been great to work to help us customize our solution and work out any tweaks along the way.

CONS

The pricing is increasing, so it may be more difficult for us to use produced services as regularly.

Reason for choosing LiveControl

Mainly because we didn't need to hire onsite camera operators and figure out how to purchase an OBS workstation on our own. Keeping Shabbat rules was also a major factor.

Live Control Review

Live Control has helped take our church live stream to a much higher level. This was very critical to our success in a post-COVID world as we were not streaming prior to the pandemic but improved with Live Control within months after streaming. The screen share feature and multiple camera angles have led to a more engaged audience.

PROS

This product is easy to use once installed and training took place. I like the simplicity of the dashboard, screen share feature, and the multi-camera features the most!

CONS

Overall the software worked well with our existing processes and products The one change I would recommend is making it easier to merge with the Subsplash Live platform.

Reason for choosing LiveControl

If there were optional products that are exactly like Live Control, I would choose LiveControl because of their friendly and responsive staff and the fact that I am able to speak with a "live" person during events and when problems arise makes a huge difference!

Exactly what we needed

We are a synagogue and needed to start livestreaming services at a higher quality than we were doing with a single, un-operated camera prior to the pandemic. Livecontrol provides exactly that service at an affordable price. It is much easier on us than having to find a person to come in as needed and operate our camera internally.

PROS

Customer service has been excellent. Having someone remotely operate 2 cameras works well for us and meets our needs. Multi-streaming to youtube and facebook, as well as any other RTMP server also works well. The hardware provided is very good quality.

CONS

There are a few things about the scheduler that could be improved. We also have some issues with the instructions for the camera operator not being followed exactly, but I think it comes down to managing expectations rather than demanding more. For what it is, the overall product is great.

Reason for choosing LiveControl

they are the only option out there right now for this exact purpose. other real alternative was to have someone on-site running our camera, which isn't a viable long-term solution for an organization like ours.

User friendly and a quality product

PROS

I love the ease of scheduling the events. You set the date/time and LiveControl takes it from there.

CONS

There isn't really anything I can think of. Price would be something, we pass the cost on to our families, if we can save them some that is always a plus, but I think it is fair.

The fact that someone else is behind the camera, so our staff can focus on the funeral.

Review

Customer service its outstanding. Livestreaming not so much. I am very disappointed with the weekly livestream. For special event, they have been outstanding. I wish they did not have to assign different operators every weekend.

PROS

convenience of not having to depend on a volunteer or have to hire someone to run the cameras

CONS

I still had to have a volunteer run the graphics Change of operators at every event does not allow for improvement on livestream Not having an assigned operator/s does not allow for improvement. Its like teaching every operator how the order of the service. this system its supposed to be less work for me but it has become more work for me. I feel frustrated with the changing of operators not knowing the flow of the service. We've been with LiveControl since March and still the operator does not know when to switch to the lector, operator does show creativity, our building has beautiful stained glass windows they hardly ever show. I've instructed many times to be creative and NOTHING. I've been instructed to write an outline, but do I have to write an outline every weekend? I do understand when we have special events, fine but not for every Sunday service.

Live Control enables High Quality With Minimum Resources

I have 35 years of professional technology experience. I have been very impressed with the technical support at every interaction. LC provides excellent people available in all time zones who do not guess at issues or problems. They always inspect their considerable technical data on our configuration performance and are very eager to satisfy our needs and interests. Live Control makes a very complex product very reasonable to use.

PROS

Quality productions w/o hiring people and invading sacred sanctuary space with distractions with very reasonable and fair pricing. Te ability to schedule static events with minimum notice and no extra charge has been invaluable to support practice, experimentation and last-minute needs.

CONS

Contacting support during a streamed event is via phone with no console chat. We would like a way to enable prearranged live external interaction with the stream, such as remote guest talking with someone at our lectern.

Reason for choosing LiveControl

Our experiences with Zoom proved that it requires much higher effort and produce much lower quality with inconsistent results.

Product Review

PROS

The ease of installation and testing of the equipment was very important. The quality of the video is awesome.

CONS

The deadline to change or modify the type of streaming is somewhat tiht. Being a limited organization is size, I have a small amount of people, doing a lot of work. So in the beginning making a decision by Friday at 9am for my Sunday service, I missed the cut off time. However, I was able to see how I can schedule these events in advance to eliminate those possibilites in the future.

I am a customer for life!

I think this is an excellent company, attentive to detail, great overall quality product. Can't say enough about how good they are!

Live Control - A great product

It was the easiest tech product that I've ever had to set up.

PROS

I like how easy it is to use. Most churches spend a lot of their time on video production for live streaming and little time on engaging the congregation. Live Control helps you to not have to spend a lot of time, money or worry on getting your services online so you can focus your efforts on engaging and pastoring the people God has sent you.

CONS

I would like to see live integration with ProPresenter which I'm told will be released very soon.
