Uprise EHR

So far it has been good, however most of our information did not transfer over other that patient names and insurance info.. it’s a lot of typing.

PROS

I like that everything can be customized to fit the style of exam performed. Our technicians can have permissible roles for data entry and medication entry. The doctor must be logged in to prescribe and sign charts but this is customizable by the practice. Exam data is much less of a hassle.

CONS

We still have a problem with coding being that many items drop down automatically. This automatically places codes into the orders AND coding which is somewhat redundant being that we prefer to put FUTURE exam codes in orders and CURRENT testing in procedures. We end up deleting codes manually, one at a time, since there is not “delete all” option. Chart notes on the main page are also saved in chronological order so we will eventually have to scroll down for CURRENT notes which is not logical.

Reasons for switching to Uprise

We were typing Custom information in the charts far too much. We needed something quicker and more comprehensive to make charting quicker and easier

Big promises/ Zero Delivery

If I had to do it over again, I would go with a completely different program. Uprise does not live up to the commitment they made.

PROS

We needed a stand alone Optical Department Software program that was easy to implement and had good reporting functions. Since the EdgePro software was included, it looked like a good opportunity for our practice. The remote training is very good. In theory, it all looks great. The actual functionality of the program is the problem.

CONS

There were long delays in making Uprise available in the first place. They had vague excuses about the programming issues. The go live date had to be pushed forward a couple times. Now that we are live with Uprise, the reporting functions are useless. Uprise does not communicate accurately to EdgePro. No ideas when it will be fixed either. Lots of small bugs to fix. It seems their programmers are ineffective.
