Improving the quality and safety of patient care: quality experience with ARIA Clinical Solutions

My experience with ARIA clinical solutions was complete and productive, since it allowed me to help health professionals to carry out their work more quickly and effectively thanks to all the facilities that this system has.

PROS

What I liked the most about working with ARIA clinical solutions is that it helped me to optimize the clinical workflow and the safety quality of patient care by simplifying the management of images and clinical data taken by health professionals.

CONS

The only thing that I consider negative about having worked with ARIA clinical solutions is its initial cost and the high cost for the maintenance of this entire system.

Great Program for Radiation Departments

Overall extremely satisfied with ARIA!

PROS

Easy to upload documents, updated regulary, customer service assistance amazing, easily integrated with other programs, individual access very custamizable, reliable software

CONS

Lots of glitches in reports, doesn't automatically apply electronic time stamp, time can be manipulated based on the personal computer setting instead of being hard coded timed by the database, doesn't put an alert if images are not signed off on before next treatment.

It's alright

PROS

We no longer use the documentation/EHR function in aria since we switched to a new EHR. However, when we did the note writing was pretty quick once you have your templates built out. The software can be very customized based on the user's job function.

CONS

It is slow - but part of this may be our system. Regardless, it takes quite a bit of time when you are moving through a patient's record and launching different work spaces.

Great program that is easy to use

PROS

Great treatment delivery system, the features and functionality make this very user friendly and help to improve clinic workflows and efficiency

CONS

Due to the high tech nature of the program it does take some getting used to when switching from another program.

This is a reasonable record and verify products with electronic medical record features

As far as solving meaningful use the different module's could be integrated better

PROS

It captures the ongoing dose accumulated. The tabular form of the different files helps navigate through the electronic medical record

CONS

I think the imaging could be improved as well as the clinical set up offered by Varian at the time of instillation. the software implementation specialists were in a hurry to leave by Friday morning rather than make sure that our instillation was comprehensive.

it is used to provide patient care and do chemo orders

PROS

nothing. there is nothing that makes this product desirable in its current format.

CONS

user unfriendly. cannot connect easily with other systems. does not do electronic scripts well and does not do schedule 2 drugs electronically. poor spell check, inability to easily automatically add phrases, does not track total chemo doses well or in a location that is readily accessible, cannot view radiology images, inadequate ordering system for labs and imaging tests--cannot easily attach diagnoses. staging systems are antiquated and wrong--they were changed years ago and aria has not updated to current staging system. very cumbersome and slow method to choose icd 10 codes. many codes not even loaded onto the system. the font is way too small and cannot be adjusted. cannot bold text.
