AMAZING! Everyone gets so excited every time we use this tool!

Better collaboration at all our events! Our teams are communicating better now too.

PROS

I have been using YAPP for over 2 years for our global conferences - to get people to engage, get excited, and as a way of reducing printed paper agendas and other print materials. I love the functionality, and how easy it is to upload and use - I have had to test out another event app and that was very difficult to use. I especially love that I can upload a simple CSV file with participant names and that comes up so easily. I really do enjoy working with the tool - and being able to upload files so easily!

CONS

The cost - sometimes I find it high. The only other thing I would say is the way apps are archived so you can't see some from the previous year.

The only cost effective solution I have found

Overall, it's a simple platform that helps structure data, display it helpfully, and update it in-realtime for conference attendees. Not as fancy or feature rich as other platforms, but by far the most affordable. Simple and effective.

PROS

It is a very easy solution to use and accomplishes the desire of having a conference "app". Worth the money and can be used simply for data distribution and communication, or you can use more advanced features if desired. Compared to all the other enterprise systems out there, this is the only one that is anywhere affordable for a non-profit event.

CONS

A little more customization on the app pages designed for just content display would be nice, but the more custom you can get the more complex it gets. A few more built-in themes or styles for the app structure/layout would be nice, but again, keeping it simple can actually be a blessing. More dynamic linking of data would be helpful (being able to create instances of items and then link to it throughout the app rather than having to recreate the data on different pages).

Use of Yapp for Conference

I have used Yapp for several conferences. I find it very easy to work with and a high adoption rate among users, which decreases our need for printing programs. When users were unsure about using the app instead of a printed program, many return the program after a short time using Yapp. Very convenient for me as the conference planner to have all the information on my phone.

PROS

Yapp is very easy to set-up and does not require technical staff to do so. It is also easy for users. My conferences frequently have attendees with intellectual disabilities and autism and they find it easy to use and helpful.

CONS

Would like to see a little more flexibility in template pages.

An Excellent Choice

PROS

Easy to add information and customize to our needs. Easy to distribute to attendees. Cost is very competitive.

CONS

Some other conference apps seem to have more features (but also cost a fair amount more).

Reason for choosing Yapp

While both looked very nice, they were more expensive. For the features we needed, it wasn't worth transitioning to these options.

Perfect for small nonprofits, with enough bells and whistles to feel special

PROS

I appreciated the ability to upload conference data with a CSV template, which saved so much time. I also felt it was easy to navigate, customizable enough to feel branded, and highly responsive for our needs.

CONS

I wish there were a better way to give speakers access to their speaker profile other than the "claim this page" function it currently uses.

Price was fantastic, better interface, easier to use.

Reasons for switching to Yapp

Hopin was not user-friendly, cumbersome, and expensive.

Great price. Simple, clean design with variety of templates to deliver information. Very responsive to questions or issues that need to be reviewed.

PROS

Yapp is a simple application to build and manage all information for conference attendees.

Would like to be able to execute real time polls or crowd source ideas — might need to brainstorm with one of your account execs to learn features we might bot be utilizing to fullest around ways we can leverage Yapp with audience engagement.

I love this product. It's easy to set-up, edits are quick, and deploying updates is a breeze. The users like it because it's simply yet attractive.

Conferences Are A Snap with Yapp!

With the ability to provide all of your conference information prior to their arrival, participants are able to maximize their experience while attending. The app helps organizers and attendees reduce anxiety associated with simple things like locating the registration desk, finding meeting rooms and knowing when and where breaks and lunches will take place.

PROS

The Yapp app is easy to setup, distribute and use. Participants from Baby Boomers to Gen Z attended our recent conference and they were able to download and use the app to see the schedule, read about the speakers and learn about the sponsors and vendors. We were able to change the schedule in real time for outdoor related activities when the weather took a sudden turn for the worse. Sponsors and vendors were very excited to see their logos and links to contact information had been included in their own special sections.

CONS

While you will have to use a minimal amount of creativity to customize your app, it is not difficult in the least. The ability to upload CSV files for sections like sponsors and speakers makes maintaining those sections a breeze when last minute changes are necessary.

When compared to other products, we chose the Yapp App because it was affordable and easy to use.

Insane bang for your buck.

PROS

I've worked on custom apps and customizable out of the box apps before that were monumentally more expensive and they paled in comparison to the ease of use and functionality that we found in the Yapp apps. We also had far more engagement with this app than our previous apps. My favorite thing is how you can design "pages" and move them around when you want to highlight one over another. Not being constrained to a traditional model where the developer chooses what they think is the way the app should be designed was really great for us.

CONS

I would like to see the social feeds brought back and expanded. When we signed on, Twitter was still being fed into the app, which would have been cool to see. We didn't think our attendee base would be on board with logging in to be able to share their social posts, but the ability to see our feeds would be really nice -- plus adding our feeds from Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram would have been an added bonus.

Cost was a huge factor for us. We were more willing to go without one until we found the Yapp app.

Cost was the most important reason, and I didn't realize how clunky and un-user friendly it was until I started using the Yapp app.

Need an App get the Yapp App

My overall experience has been very positive. Since day one, the staff at Yapp App has been very supportive and very quick to respond to any of the questions I had in terms of using the app and the features it provided. The chat feature they have is great and they respond to you quite quickly. Also, it is very cost-effective for what you get and you can choose to add additional apps if you decide you need more. I also like that once you retire an app, you have the ability to archive it.

PROS

This app has allowed me to seamlessly communicate with the attendees of our annual leadership summit. It was easy to learn how to use this app. There is no coding involved and each section can be customized to your liking. You can load schedules, bios, pictures, PDF, videos, etc. It also has instant messaging that allows you to quickly push out notifications. I love that you can create your content and when you are ready, you can simply push the publish button. We have also used it for other teams as well not just for our leadership summit.

CONS

I wish you could add a registration feature to the app with the ability to cap the attendees at a certain number for each workshop being offered. Possibly pushing this feature out first, before the entire contents of the app are populated.

Our company hosted a leadership conference at a hotel in south Florida and as the event planner, they recommended we use the Yapp App that they were offering. I tried it and decided to launch it here in our organization for other content areas.

Yapp is a "must have" for anyone planning an event. It's a no brainer!!!

First of all the Yapp customer service is 2nd to none.....period. Between the online tutorials and the live chat, the experience has been phenomenal. Any time I've sent a request to get a question answered, I've either gotten an immediate response or less than 30 minutes. I run a buying group and have 10 member companies. Yapp has been so well received that I believe 5 of them started using Yapp after our first experience in 2019. I can't emphasize enough what a fantastic product this is and simple to use for any skill level!

PROS

I am not the most tech savvy person being a Boomer who didn't grow up with a computer. I was amazed at how quickly I was able to navigate my way through creating my first app in 2019. It is very intuitive. For the past 4 years and creating multiple apps, there has been nothing that I wanted to create in an app, that I haven't been able to figure out. I love this product!

CONS

There really isn't a "like least" feature of this app. My only suggestion to make it just a little easier in some instances, would be to be able to clone a page within the app or to copy and paste a page from a previous app into a new app. My apps are very similar for each event so I start by cloning the previous app, which is very helpful. Cloning a page or cut and paste a page from previous apps would make it that much easier.

Other options were far too expensive. Initially I thought it would be more cumbersome for users to download Yapp and then have to go there every time to open my app. I could not have been more wrong. No one complained and it was very seamless for everyone.

PROS

Very easy to use and intuitive which is important for a small team that is new to administering a conference app. Also easy to use and intuitive for our conference attendees which this was their first time using an app at our conference.

CONS

The alerts/notifications would not push to users in the app unless they had specifically gone through their phone settings to allow the notifications. I'm not sure if this is anything Yapp can do anything about, but this would be a game changer. Also, assuming Yapp can get the notifications to push to users, the ability to schedule those notifications would be fantastic. Tracking continuing education (CE) is a major missing piece for Yapp. Conference apps should be able to track users attendance at sessions as a mechanism for organizations to award CE credits.

Conference App is the bomb

The schedule is terrific. Exhibitors profiles and info is good. Having speaker handouts on the schedule is a real plus!

CONS

1. can't attach digital promotional advertisements to exhibitors easily 2. Schedule overview doesn't have speaker's name on it....only location 3. Hard to add a READABLE MAP (exhibit hall and classrooms) 4. Most Sponsors are Exhibitors....can't pull Exhibitor Info into Sponsors. Have to enter same info twice

Our Yapp App was a Huge Success!

The directions for app set-up were very clear and covered most of our needs. We were able to get quick answers when needed from the chat support. The app made it much easier for attendees to choose and find the activities they wanted to participate in. We didn't know what to expect, since this was our first year using an app, but we were surprised and thrilled that almost half of our attendees/staff downloaded the app. It was well worth the time and money we invested and we will definitely use Yapp for our next event.

PROS

It took much less time than I expected to transfer the information from our web site to our new Yapp App. The clear directions and page templates made it easy to set up. Attendees loved the easy access on their phones, and used the app mostly to check our schedule of activities. Yapp allows the end user to create their own personal schedule. People also checked out vendor, presenter, and performer details on the app, and used the maps to find classrooms and vendor booths. Event management also found themselves referring to the app throughout the weekend.

CONS

I would like to have our own event icon on the user's home screen instead of the Yapp icon. We also found the "personal schedule" icon in the app was difficult to find, but once you found it was tremendously helpful. This was our first year using an app, and we would like to explore more of the announcement and social media features at our next event.

Reason for choosing Yapp

We heard about Yapp through another event. While we did research other app software, it was a clear choice to use Yapp when we saw how easy it was to set up.

An effective way to communicate with and provide resources to a field team

PROS

What I like most about Yapp is that the information we house there is easy to manage, and for our teams to use. We are able to quickly push out files and data to the team and house files for future use. This is a great tool for helping get information to a team that works remotely.

CONS

I don't know of anything that I would say needs to be improved. I have used this product for many years with a couple different companies and it seems to get more streamlined and user friendly over time.

Yapp, the little app that can, and can do more

Yapp allows us to share event information for an overall more professional experience. Cutting down on print costs, Yapp also allows us to share program updates and changes in nearly real time. Yapp is the little app that can, and I think has more to offer in the future.

PROS

In it's simple ux layout, Yapp allows for a load of event information to be shared with our program participants pretty easily with a good amount of customization, and no real need for coding or programming knowledge for the data manager . Wins!

CONS

From a ui standpoint, Yapp could be a little more robust, and more api integrations for major social media platforms would put Yapp over the top. A one stop shop for participants to get the information they need, and share photos/videos/content of their program experience in Yapp that can also be pushed to their personal socials would be a big win for event participants, and those hosting.

Great option for organizations with limited budget

It was my job to research and find the best alternative that would fit our budget. When we put the app and use it was nerve-racking because there’s always everyone will have an opinion. But this is rather smooth and everybody loves the app. I’m very impressed with the customer service and how quickly they respond when I post a question. They were very minor additions I would like, but none are critical. They’ve been very responsive when I make suggestions.

PROS

How easy it is to set up and manage on the backend. How good it looks on the front end, and how easy it was to push out to all of our clients and visitors.

CONS

That it only works with one ticketing company.

We utilize Yapp for various conferences held under our agency that users may attend many of. One of the great features is that the conferences are stored in the app itself and they are able to jump between conferences and simply update content instead of redownloading a new app for each conference.Also, Conferences are EASY to set up and manage.

Great no code solution for having a mobile app

Very good product, meets all my needs, maybe more.

PROS

Developing your own app is timely, costly, and has many hurdles to overcome. Yapp app takes all that away with it's no code solution to developing and maintaining a mobile app. Good set of features, I including some that I haven’tused yet and hope to soon in the future.

CONS

The product, in my opinion is a bit costly, especially for the size of event I run.

User friendly interface

Really good. But can do more

PROS

Easy to use for the people. I had 500 people use the app over the course of 4 days. And had no complaints at all. Theh used this app extensively and no complaints

CONS

Would like to add more customization to the apps.

Easy to use and implement

PROS

Easy to set up and easy for the users to find and use. Easy to set up and send or schedule notifications.

CONS

I wish the map could have been more interactive.

Reason for choosing Yapp

Simple format for the event we were hosting. It was easy for our attendees to find the information they needed like the schedule.
