Windows 10: you probably don't want it, but you'll love it.
I am actually really happy with Windows 10. After the Windows 8 failure, I was really reluctant in upgrading to Windows 10, since I liked Windows 7 a lot, and was really comfortable with it. But I don't regret making the choice. It's a great operative system, and I would recommend it 100%. Let's hope Windows 11 is also a huge upgrade and not another W8 fiasco-like.
PROSThe user interface is gorgeous. It combines the great about Windows 7, with it's own greatness. It makes you quickly forget about that Windows 8 fiasco. Windows 10 is also really efficient: you literally save time with this operative system, since it has a quick start up function, which allows you to power on your computer really fast compared to prior Windows versions. Functions are really easy to find, and it has a great search feature. Also, Cortana can be helpful, although I do not recommend it so much.
CONSWell... Updates can be really annoying. There's various reasons for this: they basically force you to do it, some updates can take long times, they can happen at really inconvenient times, they can actually fail and mess up your entire system... So that's it. Windows is also particularly vulnerable to hacker attacks, but they also put a lot of effort in trying to prevent it.
Reason for choosing Windows 10
I've always used Windows, plus it offers you a more free environment: MacOS doesn't have too much games.
Reasons for switching to Windows 10
Upgraded from an older computer.

Still Worthwhile Near End of Life
It's been good. I came to Windows 10 after it had been out for over a year, and implementation went well as they had worked out a number of major issues. I'll stay with it as long as I can on my workstation
PROSIt's been fairly reliable and the virus protection has been updated daily for years.
CONSFalse positive virus claims on ghost copies of backups that cause backup failure.

Not a very good upgrade of windows 7!!
Overall experience is not so good. Apart from security features, I am really struggling with performing daily routine tasks.
PROSWindows 10 has improved security as it has improved its authentication (Introduced two-step authentication) and defense mechanism. We are using modern machines like HP envy, Spectre and others with removable screens, Windows 10 does pretty good in shifting its UI to tablet and mobile mode with just a single click. UI gets more user friendly by increasing accessibility.
CONSMandatory updates are really disturbing and uses a lot of internet data. With the every update of Windows 10, my machine is getting slower and slower. Sometimes you are in a middle of something (Meeting, Online gaming, web surfing) and windows update service starts. You wont be able to perform anything till your windows update finishes. After recent update my machine takes considerable boot time.

Still the favourite OS out there and will be for sometime to come
There was a reluctance to move to Windows 10 when it first came along, especially with the comfort of Windows 7 and its pretty solid performance all round. These days, we are in the same situation with Windows 11 and the End of Life of Windows 10 looming on the horizon (October 2025 be prepared). Yet many of us will cling onto Windows 10 until the day comes when we must move on, but in the meantime, it is a solid well supported, intuitive interface that we have all become used to. Its not new so you'll know this already but its still the most popular for a reason, and say what you will about Windows, its what most of know and love(?)
CONSOverall there is not much, in every day use you get used to various different ways of doing things and there will always be niggles such as updates, but overall most people are well past moaning about these things and instead are moaning about being moved to a new OS. Nothing here to worry about

Best Operating System in the market, even better than MacOS
My overall experience so far has been great. I love using the software everyday and I do not have any issues using it. I can do my office work and also play games easily.
PROSThe best part of the software is the user interface. It is very user friendly and easy to manage, The software is easily installed in the computer and also has all the security feature which is required to have the data safe.
CONSThe only thing I dislike is the vulnerability of the software to ransomeware. The attack of ransomeware on the system is frequent if there is no proper antispam software. The inbuilt security feature does not help too much.
Reason for choosing Windows 10
Windows 10 is very cheap and also easily installed on the system. It is also very easy to use.

PROSThe graphical user interface it provides is the best one everyone came across. People have been using XP, 7 and 8.1 (Somewhat new GUI) but after getting windows 10 looks completely different. It is secured and will be getting updates every alternate week from microsoft.
CONSThe only this this lags is for the gaming people, there are few bugs or issues for the gamers in windows 10.

Can't live with or without Windows 10!
I have learned to focus on what I like about Windows 10 and ignore the niggly bits. This has saved me much frustration! And this is still definitely better than the MacOS which I fail to understand how passes as usable!
PROSI will easily say that Windows 10 has been the most stable Windows version till date by far. I remember during my grad days having to reformat my machine and reinstall Windows 7 every 4-5 months or so because it would either slow down to the point of being unusable or simply break. However, three years on, touch wood, I have not had to reinstall the OS on my machine yet. Most things simply work and I think they have worked on resource management a bit as well. That said, my machine is a rather powerful Thinkpad so I am probably not feeling the bloat as much as some other users.
CONSBloat. So much bloat. Why do we have Cortana? But most importantly - why does Microsoft push us to create a PIN? I have gone to great lengths to avoid having to create a PIN but why force me? And I dislike the 'app' skin that Microsoft has been trying to put on 'software'. Just does not work for me. Any Windows version is a resource suck which you only realise if you run Linux on the same machine. But overall, can't complain too much.

Windows Review
Overall Windows is characterized by its versatility, user-friendly interface, productivity tools, gaming support, and continuous updates and support from Microsoft. Windows offers compatibility with a wide range of software and hardware, providing users with options to meet their specific needs. The familiar interface makes navigation and customization straightforward.
PROSWindows 10 is appreciated for its user-friendly interface, ensuring easy navigation and access to features. It boasts compatibility with various software and hardware, making it suitable for a wide range of devices. The integration of Cortana, the virtual assistant, enhances productivity by providing voice-activated search and assistance. With advanced security features like Windows Defender and built-in encryption, Windows 10 prioritizes user safety.
CONSUsers have expressed concerns about privacy settings and data collection practices, as well as the aggressive approach to forced updates, which can disrupt workflow and cause compatibility issues. Compatibility problems with older or less common software and hardware have been reported, and some users find the pre-installed apps and bloatware unnecessary or unwanted.

Windows 10 : Exploring Microsoft's Feature-Rich OS
As a college lecturer, my overall opinion of Windows 10 has been positive. The user-friendly navigation and interface make it easy to access and manage instructional content. The availability of productivity tools like Microsoft Office and my ability to multitask well with virtual desktops boost my administrative and teaching tasks. For me and my student, regular upgrades to Windows 10's security features also contribute to the maintenance of a trustworthy and secure computer environment.
PROSI really appreciate Windows 10's intuitive user interface. Its modern design and straightforward navigation make it easy to operate and switch between features and applications. The enhanced performance and security features also contribute to a wonderful user experience.
CONSDespite the many advantages of Windows 10, there is one area where it may be improved: the sporadic emergence of software compatibility issues. Some older applications might not function properly or require extra debugging. However, Microsoft has made an effort to address these compatibility problems and provides alternatives to mitigate the effects.

Windows 10 - The best version of Windows
Windows 10 is a great Operating System. Windows Security is quite enhanced in the version and protects the system from most of the viruses and malware. Speed of applications and overall performance is satisfactory. Recommended OS.
PROSWindows 10 has come out well, especially due to the user interface. Have been using Windows 7 for quite some time and finally as support for Windows 7 was nearing its end, we had to migrate to Windows 10. Overall, its been a smooth transition. The user interface of Windows 10 is quite user friendly and interactive. Searching for apps and files is much easier. Performance of Windows 10 is better. Applications load quickly and bootup is quick too. Windows Update feature is better, much of the essential updates are installed automatically. So your system is always running a secured release of the OS.
CONSSome legacy software don't work anymore with windows 10. The problem is also seen with legacy hardware as new drivers are not made available by the OEMs. Do try the Compatibility Troubleshooter to fix common compatibility issues.

As support for Windows 7 was nearing, we decided to make the switch to Windows 10.

Worth upgrading from Windows 7
When Windows 10 came out i was mind blown of how they changed almost everything in the interface, the icons, the start menu, the start logo, the colors were different, and i even changed them to dark red just for fun, the security is top notch, i never had to worry about my data anymore, overall i'm happy i updated.
PROSThe whole UI overhaul, the ability to customize the colors and icons, the way it connects your Microsoft account with everything on your PC or laptop to make it your own, and most importantly the security, you have windows defender that literally detects everything that might harm your computer, and deletes it immediately.
CONSThe constant updates, the pop up suddenly whatever you are doing, the fact that it can happen at anytime, without prior notice, and cuts you of whatever you are doing.

Microsoft is Back!
After being a Windows power user for several years, moving from technical support in the days of Windows 95, going into network support and eventually doing some web development, Windows 10 gave me the first Microsoft OS which I could leave running for hours, and not fear the system crashing. I've seen where it did have some stability issues, and if you want to run powerful software, ensure that you have some excess hard drive space for VRAM and a fair amount of RAM. Fortunately, RAM is cheap. I think that while Apple does a great job at memory management and some other things, the cost just isn't worth it. Windows 11 is out, but it's just not as smooth, and they removed some great features from Windows 10. I remain a fan of Windows 10. I just wish they fixed the RAM management
PROSMost importantly, Microsoft Windows 10 works. Remember the days of random blue screens of death? They're gone. Windows 10 provides a stable interface in the PC ecosystem that you can feel comfortable to operate on.
CONSI am not a fan of Windows' use of RAM. Managing memory has been a disturbing experience at times.

Windows 10 is a good OS, in fact better upgrade for windows 7 and windows 8. Windows 10 fulfilled the advancement intended by windows. I have had no problem using windows 10, installation of softwares were smooth with no dll issues like the previous windows use to give.
