I like that the pricing is stable, transparent and flexible for when adding on additional computers beyond the current limit. We use it for training and assisting other staff members. If it can be made into something much much smaller when in full screen mode, that would be great! Also, it hasn't happened recently, but in the past, file transferring would fail at the point where it's supposed to allow me to select where to place the file on the remote computer. #### Reasons for switching to dualmon We previously used Teamviewer, and I use Chrome Remote Desktop as well. Chrome RD is free, but it is tied to my Google account and therefore can't be shared with other team members. Teamviewer misled us about lifetime purchases, etc, and each upgrade required a whole new payout. Overall, it was a very heavy handed, unpleasant and frustrating experience. Dualmon has been consistent in pricing and service. It is simple to use and not overly complicated with a ton of dashboard features that most people will never use like other software. It also allows a section to use by other staff so that we have dual access to the client. On occasion, clients I normally don't remote into on a routine basis ask me to fix something on their computer. Walking them through simple installation through the install process is very easy. Then I just delete their computer off my dashboard of clients. Easy peasy the way it should be. The cost is reasonable where I can easily absorb it onto my overhead as clients typically do not want to be charged for remote access. #### Cons I have not run into any problems with this. At one point I was having some difficulty setting up dual remote status for me and the bookkeeper to access the client computer, but tech walked me through it and we were able to do future setup easily once we understood it. I think we may have been overcomplicating it. #### Reasons for switching to dualmon Logmein.com pricing was reasonable until the company went public. It forced us to look at alternative products. The connection is solid and we are able to work as if in the office. Once connected, servicing and fixing customer computers by remote access is easy. We don't have any evident buffering, and we are able to reboot the accessed computer and re-establish the connection afterwards. The software even allows switching between dual remote monitors, which we weren't able to do using other software previously. The web portal is great and comprehensive. #### Cons Setting up a one-time connection to a customer does seem to be a little convoluted, but having said that the software does advise you where the customer is in the process. I'm not sure how this could be improved, to be fair. #### Reasons for switching to dualmon A major factor was the ability to switch remote monitors. Maybe the fact that I was using it one morning and then tried to use it in the afternoon when all it would do is pop up saying that the credit card on file was not still good. Issue was, I was not near the credit card in question; therefore, I could not do what I needed to do at the time I was trying to do it. I wish there would have been a warning on the software prior to this (even earlier that morning) so that I could have had time to correct. Maybe something like, "only 5 more uses without payment". Anything that would not have put in a delay at the time it did. Most remote desktop software costs a lot more, and does not give a lot for the added cost in terms of value. #### Cons I feel the file transfers could be improved, security could be improved (Additional roles to assign machines and users to), and a few additional functions could really add some value to this software (Like better screen capture, better full screen mode, and the ability to use from the web browser even when someone is using the app). Android version is NEEDED!!! There isn't one as far as I know, and I solely use android. Im actually super disappointed I cant use this from my phone. Also, linux usability!! I hated them all. None of them worked as well as this one. Dualmon is easy to set up and does everything that I need. I have used it for many years, and I have rarely experienced any connection issues related to the software. The one issue that did occur was quickly and easily resolved by their excellent support. They sent me detailed instructions on how to correct it. These instructions remained in my account so that I was able to refer to them on the one other occasion that the issue occurred again. You don't have to give out password on each access.
