My Name is Sam, and I am a small business owner located in Lexington, Kentucky. For the last 3 years, my staff and I have relied on POS Prophet systems to provide us with the customized functionality we needed in a point-of-sale system, yet at a price we could afford. POS Prophet Systems accomplished both without breaking a sweat. Since living in Kentucky, I have owned two separate retail stores, one of which required software so customized, it was quoted at nearly a 12 month implementation time and a total cost of $70,000 to design. Feeling helpless and wondering if I would ever get my idea off the ground, I turned to POS Prophet Systems, just to give it a shot. My team and I had an online demonstration with one of their representatives and were blown away with what we saw. The software as it stood already accomplished 80% of the details we needed, but what was even more impressive was the fact that even at their already-reasonable costs to use this program, they were willing to tweak the software to our exact needs for next to nothing, in comparison to our previous suitors. In the end, our system did EVERYTHING we wanted it to do, at a fraction of the cost we were previously quoted. Though POS Prophet Systems already provided software that encompassed every area of need for a retail store to operate effectively, our particular needs in both stores relied heavily on a complex inventory management/customer account system. For instance, in our first store we needed the ability to manage inventory not only by simply ordering and selling products, but to also rent AND track items in a separate program we offered. Having a "rental" option on a point-of-sale software isn't anything new, but what POS Prophet Systems was able to do, was. In utilizing a system similar to the "Netflix" model, our store obtained the ability to offer our customers a variety of membership plans that allowed them to rent items from our store, up to their respective plans' limits. Our customers could pick a plan that allowed them $XX.XX amount of dollars to use in renting clothing, at their original retail prices. Once finished with them, the member would simply bring back the items, receiving returned credit equal to the amount of the original rental value for each item. In summary, we were able to create customer accounts that tracked which membership they had, when they last used it, what items they had checked out of our store, and how much credit they had left to use....all at any given moment! This is not the type of software you can just go purchase down at your local Office Depot, this I can assure you. Though I have gone into great detail over just one particular customization we needed, I must also mention the ease of use of this software. Learning a new point-of-sale system can be a daunting task, but with POS Prophet Systems, it was so simple I didn't even go to their training sessions provided with my new purchase. The user-interface is VERY friendly, and once you get the hang of the "back end" customizations, you'll think you stole the thing for the money you spent. I may go on and on about this software, but I do that mainly because of the customer service I received ever since day one. Since the beginning, I was assisted by everyone on the staff at least at one point or another, including working hand-in-hand with company president Sean Connors, who made us feel like we were as important as clients 10 times our size. This is a huge difference to me, and hard to find these days. I do hope that this review helps another small business owner like myself, who is new to the industry and struggling with the limitless options out there. Yes, you may find other low-cost options claiming to do this and that, but be weary. Purchases like this rarely pan out when they are this inexpensive. Honestly, I got lucky to find POS Prophet Systems...its as simple as that. Easy to use, 24/7 tech support, great customer service. I would recommend this product to anyone.

We had one of our IT staff who worked with POS systems in the past evaluate several POS vendors to make our selection. We selected POS Prophet Systems for several reasons. First, the core software program met most of our needs as is but Prophet Systems was also willing to customize the application to suit some of the unique aspects of our business. Second, the salesperson had a very good understanding of the product and was able to listen to how were currently operated and suggest how the software application would work in our environment. Third, we felt like we were getting tremendous value for the amount of functionality and options the software had versus the price. We were very pleased with the implementation process and how the software actually ran. As part of a group of companies with over a half billion of sales in 2010, we have implemented and integrated several different software packages. We were very happy with how POS Prophet Systems took a team approach and remained flexible when integrating with our other vendors. The software certainly did what they said it would and as the inevitable hiccups and difficulties arose during implementation, they did a great job of tracking and resolving our issues. As a result of the new software our business processes have significantly improved and the amount of time we spend on back office administration has decreased even as sales, fortunately, have increased. One surprise we did not expect was the incredible flexibility we have in pricing our various product lines and being able to use functionality that was originally meant for a different industry in our business process. An example of this is the software has the ability to run a tab for restaurant and bar customers. This feature allowed us to track call in orders by posting a provisional sale that would be delivered a few days later and posting the final sale from the tab function. This process was always a nightmare before POS Prophet Systems. Overall I would say we are extremely satisfied with the product.

The City of Peabody first started using POS Prophet Systems software at our city-owned golf course, The Meadow at Peabody, beginning in the spring of 2005. The support services and ease of use enabled us to get up and running quickly. The tracking and reporting features helped us to provide the controls and information reporting that had been lacking at the facility. After several years of satisfaction with the performance and service that we received with the Proshopkeeper product, we were please to find out that POS Prophet also had a general retail POS product. In 2009, we were looking for a POS product that would enable the city to automate our Brooksby Farm store. The city owns and operates a working orchard/farm and we needed to implement the same reporting and controls at the Farm as we did at the Meadow. We reviewed many POS systems and had several POS grocery systems demos, but none had the same flexibility, ease of use, and value as POS Prophet Systems. We worked closely with Sean Connors and his staff to configure, implement and install the system in approximately 60 days. Since we were already familiar with the functionality and features of the software we were able to have golf course personnel work with Farm management on training and setup. The support staff at POS Prophet combined with our own information technology staff to set up and complete a smooth migration to our new POS system client and server. Over the years there have been very few glitches or problems with the software; it just runs and runs. Credit cards process instantly and if price changes or inventory adjustments are needed they can be done quickly and securely. We are going on our 7th year relying on POS Prophet System products to run our City Enterprises and look forward to the continued enhancements and upgrades that POS Prophet provides. PS. Since there is always room for improvement - 4 out of 5 stars.

Mr. Bill's Pipe and Tobacco Company has been in business in Las Vegas since 1980. While we cannot avoid having imitators, Mr. Bill's does not intend to have equals! We have used a couple of Point of Sale systems over the past 20 years. The software we were using before POS Prophet Systems (CREE) was all right on the front end but the inventory and reporting functions were horrible. We wanted a system that did not involve a large investment up front, one with good inventory control and an easy learning curve. After searching for almost 8 months and viewing 5 - 6 demos, and after many friendly follow-up calls by our POS Prophet Systems salesman, Bill Hickey, I finally found time to view the demo. WOW!! I was really impressed. We went ahead and signed the deal. The training that was provided was excellent and if we had a question, Bill responded immediately. Sean, one of the principals, got involved in our implementation to make sure it went smoothly. The reporting is phenomenal, the inventory control easy to use, and the POS retail side was a snap to implement. POS Prophet Systems even converted all of our inventory data - all the other systems I looked at involved entering manually all of our more than 10,000 inventory items. The Technical Support Team is tremendous - if you have an issue, they log onto your system and fix it or tell you how to solve the problem. We have asked for a couple of reports specific to our industry, and they have come through. We now have real-time Sales Information and the staff can see, instantly, what inventory the other stores have, thus providing even better service to our customers. We can search the inventory data base via code numbers, names, even part of the code or name. The end of day reporting is simple and easy to use. All in all, I highly recommend the excellent team at POS Prophet Systems and Bill Hickey!!!

TaylorMade Golf Experience has been in business since 1997 under a different name. We are a par 3, 9-hole, executive course located on the Las Vegas Strip that provides a 110-stall, two-tiered driving range on synthetic mats and a 20-stall grass range, a retail store and restaurant/bar. We have struggled for years to find a good POS system with a golf emphasis that provides an accurate tee sheet and works for the volume of a public course. We use ball machines with the E-Range technology; therefore, we were limited on the software systems we could choose from. Most of the systems that we could choose from were either way too cumbersome and for big facilities, or there were really small and for the "mom and pop" facilities. We had been using another system since the mid-2000s, and their technology was old, which is why we decided to make a change. We came across POS Prophet and decided to check it out in 2012. However, we had to update some of our in-house servers/hardware before we would be ready to make the move to any new system. Once completing that update, we decided to move forward with POS Prophet. The implementation process was really painless. Our implementation team was very knowledgeable and pleasant to work with, and it was a breeze to get the system ready to go live. We spent about two months in setup and training prior to go live. And the rest has been history. If we ever have a question, we can call the customer service center in order to get help or have someone jump on our computer to fix something. Our staff really likes the ease in which the system functions for tee times, check-ins, and even the random odd purchase. We are now looking at expanding the system into our three golf retail stores.

We are a boutique bakery located in Pittsburgh, Pennsyvania and we are currently using the POSExpress Version 3.0. We have been using this system for the last year and a half and would highly recommend it to other retail businesses. The implementation was quick and efficient and the team from POS Prophet were able to teach our staff everything they needed to know during one training session. The fantastic thing is that any time we have a question or issue that we cannot trouble shoot, the support team is there to lend a hand. You simply call the 1800 number and they assist you over the phone and on the POS system itself. Being in retail, we have a high turnover of retail staff and every new employee states the POS system was the easiest part of the job to master. The system itself is quick and effortless to use which is such a relief when you have a line forming in the store and customers who want to move on with their day. We have so many items that we sell and I cannot tell you how often we use the system to look up pricing on the spot for the customer. We have been able to set up a VIP Customer program where we can track sales to particular clients and reward them accordingly. The sales reports help us track what is selling and what is not selling and we are able to quickly make changes to maximize our future sales. We can also research seasonal and Holiday trends which helps us to prepare for that particular season or Holiday the next year. We are even currently building our retail shopping website under POS Prophet Sytems and again the support staff has gone above and beyond to help our staff create this shopping website.

We switched to POS Prophet at the beginning of our season - Spring 2012 - as we are a tourist business. We should have made the switch sooner since we were not really ready to go when our business went into full swing. Therefore, we didn't have enough training and fumbled for awhile. However, we got some good support and eventually worked through most of the issues. By the end of the season, we were very happy with the system and what it could do for us. We have not used it to anywhere near full capacity but we really like our terminals, the capabilities and the support. The system is very "smart" and continues to amaze us what it can do. Our problems have come in the form of credit card transactions being processed differently than what the receipts say. We have not been able to figure out if it is a merchant services problem, a POS problem, or some of both. We have had some chargebacks, some fees, and have spent alot of time on 5 transactions in which we both lost some money and our customers lost some money. We are NOT happy with our merchant services company and will definitely make a change in 2013. However, I would like to discuss a few specific situations that the POS accepted and printed sales and receipts and they were processed differently. Despite the above, we love our POS Prophet systems and the support we get. We hope to study the available options, reports, etc to use it to a greater extent.

In 2008, I opened Greek Stop, a Greek diner. Coming from a financial background, I was baffled at the amount of paperwork that I had to create and maintain on my own because I was using a regular cash register. I started to research POS systems online; I even researched used equipment, trying to find a "deal" but I wasn't comfortable ordering online and I just didn't feel confident buying used so I procrastinated for more than a year. Our company, Lilly Rocket LLC, sells semi-precious gemstone jewelry in Las Vegas. We met POS Prophet Systems at a Trade Show and were instantly impressed. As a start-up, we had a blank canvas and could decide on a multitude of POS options, including traditional software vs. cloud computing. After surveying the market, Sean and his team were the only company out there that could put together a solution that worked for our business. As a retail that sells all their items in "kits" ($8 each or 3 for $20 as example) we needed a system that wouldn't required a cashier's manual intervention to generate the appropriate discount after each transaction. The staff at Prophet is second to none. They are a very outstanding group. And yes, the software is great, too. I recently had a problem with credit card processing and I didn't know if it was the internet provider, the POS software or the credit card company. POS Prophet was the first that I called, and they went to work to help solve the problem. They were the first one that we ruled out as the problem, but they stayed with us throughout the entire ordeal. I highly recommend them and would be willing to talk to anyone personally that had any questions about them.

The only thing I can think of is the hours of tech support. However, the one time I had an off hours call, their person on call got back to me in a timely manner.

We were new to POS systems but were advised by others in the industry to make sure and get a system that was Windows-based. After attending a trade show and meeting various POS reps, we decided to go with POS Prophet Systems. Just about the time we had all the inventory in and 2 days before our grand opening, our main computer crashed with an Internet virus. The staff at POS Prophet Systems had everything backed up online and downloaded everything without a hitch onto another computer. Their service and staff were priceless throughout. We have found this system to be user-friendly and limitless on the reports it can generate. I recommend this system to anyone opening a new business. Our sales reports are easy to generate, the inventory classifications make reordering simple, and the customer database keeps you in touch with the people who really matter to your business. POS Prophet Systems is the best tool any business could ever have. I recommend it very highly.

We have a candy business that is located in different shopping malls. We have special POS needs because our system includes a scale to weigh the candy. POS has done such a wonderful job helping us get the scale to connect with the system, and make sure everything is running properly. It did take a while to get the reports exactly how we wanted them, but Jason kept working on them to make sure we were satisfied. Every time I call to make a change or update a coupon etc., one of the service technicians helps me immediately. They are cheerful and efficient. The system works perfectly for our needs and we have not had any problems. Our staff was able to learn the system quickly, but if one of my employees doesn't understand something, he/she can click on the "help" button and someone from POS will connect with our computer to help them remotely. I can't say enough about POS Prophet Systems and their staff.

We have been working with POS Prophet Systems for about a year. It is very user friendly and if you do need help they have a great team of techs to help you along the way. We used to use QuickBooks but needed to upgrade to a system that had real time data. POS Prophet Systems had just what we needed and more. They are a good team of people that sell a good product! Sometimes there will be glitches and such but every operating system is different for what you need. I highly recommend using the exact systems that they require you to use or you will have issues with the glitches more than you would if you use the recommended systems. Some of the reports are nice and clear. I am not sure what a lot of them are for, but if I wanted to know how to use them all I need to do is contact POS Prophet Systems and set up time for training. It’s all that simple.

I manage IT for a few small companies, and for us, POS Prophet Systems is much more than just a Point-of-Sale software provider. It's definitely not easy making "off-the-shelf" POS software work just the way you want it, and it's very easy to create a mess when trying to go at it alone. POS Prophet Systems does an incredible job of tailoring their software for a specific application or industry. They have an excellent support staff that is always ready to help, no matter how tough our questions are. We've even requested custom programming to add a new feature to the software that would improve our day-to-day operations, which they quickly worked on implementing for us. I would definitely recommend POS Prophet Systems if you are looking for a customized solution tailored to your operation.

We were using an outdated system before I found POS Prophet Systems. We use an admission process for an entertainment center. Single admissions and yearly memberships were a problem on the old system, but Prophet Systems worked with us to tailor fit our program. The staff could learn the POS Prophet System in less than 10 minutes, making it amazingly easy to use. Usually I can find the options I need to change easily enough, but when I cannot figure something out I call the customer support line and get an answer almost immediately. Already I can see our transaction times lowered and tracking items in inventory is so easy. I would recommend POS Prophet Systems to any business with a food, retail, and admission based components. Also, the customer tracking is outstanding.

The software is very easy to use for all of my employees. It's straightforward and gives us useful information to better run our stores. The report options are endless. The best thing about the company is the support. We're now on a first name basis with all of their support techs and all have been incredibly patient. This has been a good experience.

I honestly have nothing negative to say about Prophet. As a word of caution, do the prep work thoroughly to save countless hours on the back side. That was our fault, not theirs.

We are a retail clothing store in Illinois and were very confused originally about what type of POS system to purchase. Once we spoke to POS Prophet Systems and learned how easy the system is to operate, how great the customer service is, and not to mention how friendly the staff is, we knew this was the system for us. We have now been operating with their system since we started our business in November of 2010 and have been very satisfied with the decision we made to go with this company. Other companies have tried to come in and compare pricing and support with us and but they have not been able to match or beat POS Prophet Systems.

I have used POS Prophet for about six months now in my small gift and greenhouse store. It is intuitive, easy to train and I love all the reports you can run to see vendors, best selling products, margins, customer database, and so much more. The only reason I can't give it all 5 stars is that I do wish there was a product manual. However, I have had nothing but excellent experiences with the customer service support team. They have been easy to reach, quick to help and pleasant to deal with. Best of all, I don't get charged for every call, and that makes for a smarter and longer relationship with POS Prophets!

I operate a general store in Northern Michigan, which carries groceries, beer, wine, liquor, lottery tickets, a deli, a full-service meat case, fresh pizza, the Broaster Express food program, and a Tomra bottle machine, to name just a few of our services. I needed a point-of-sale system that could incorporate all of that into one easy system, and offer customer support. I couldn't be happier with POS Prophet Systems. I have been a customer for over three years, and the support is awesome. Problems or challenges are quickly taken care of, and they are truly concerned for their customers' businesses.

We are a Golf Practice Facility with a full line Pro Shop. The system has been very easy for us to use and given us the ability to track our numbers much better than before. When your accounting department is happy with the range of different numbers you can generate reports on, you know things are going pretty well. We are very happy with our decision to use POS Express and we are still just scratching the surface with everything it can do. The support staff has been great and walks you through any problems that might arise.

POS Prophet Systems works well for a retail store. Training employees is extremely simple and dependability has been good. I like the integration with both credit card approval and the website. Shortcomings exist in the method of viewing and adjusting the time clock as well as flexibility in reporting. At this time the website does not work for me as it should. The support department has been very responsive and I feel confident that solutions will come.

Customer Support for our system has been outstanding. The very few times we have had an issue (mostly due to our own issues), we have been answered and are back up and running in minutes. The system is extremely easy to use and can be quickly mastered by any employee. This is by far the best system we have had in our business, in the 15 years we have been open.

As the owner of a convenience store we were looking for a system that was simple and priced right. Prophet Systems has meet all are needs hands down. The support setting up the system was fantastic and they had great follow up. The staff has found the touch screen interface very easy to adapt to with very little training. I would recommend this software for your business.
