Frederick by MINDBODY is a cloud-based marketing solution that caters to salons, spas, mechanics and yoga studios. Key features include custom automation, drip campaigns, open appointments and more.

Frederick syncs with users' schedules and automatically sends targeted emails and text marketing campaigns to the appropriate audience.

Additionally, Frederick features an email-campaign builder that helps salon owners send custom newsletters to clients, informing them about various business activities, offers, discounts and upcoming packages. Users can also build drip campaigns to encourage loyalty with custom rewards, send personalized wishes or upsell prospective customers with package or membership campaigns.

Services are offered on a monthly subscription basis that includes support via phone, email and an online knowledge base.

Best Value For My Business Needs!

My clients love using Frederick to schedule their appointments with me. It's easy for them to use, and they also like the text reminder feature, especially. They also like to receive reminders to book their appointments again, as not all of my clients can book an appointment at checkout because they're busy and have varying schedules. I also enjoy the feature because there are times when I don't have time to schedule their next appointment because another client is waiting.

Pros

Ease of use and the options with the smart marketing. I can control what things are sent out and turn them on and off at will.

Cons

Sometimes the text reminders don't work. When someone posts a review, they are unable to change it later if they want to, without assistance from customer service.

Winning back lost customers!

We are in the Automotive business and we have been using Frederick for over a year. Once you get it all set up, it just does it's thing. Someone else said, "set it and forget it" and it is really true. Also, if we want to send out something like a mid-week special at the last minute, it takes me about 5 minutes to get it done. Very easy to use. More importantly, in the last 6 months, we have had 5 customers return to see us from a Frederick "lost customer" email and the average ticket is $964.40! Not only is the customer spending money, but we also have another opportunity to WOW that customer and keep them coming back.

Pros

You can use the parts of the program that work for you and turn off items that you don't want to use.
The lost customer portion of the program is really working for us.
The reporting section has lots of information.

Cons

Frederick won't allow you to send out an email to everyone at once, like if you had a big announcement that you wanted all your customers to receive at the same time. I do hear that they are working on incorporating this feature into the program.

Fredrick keeps my current clients coming back!

The idea of Fredrick is very interesting. If we were to pay a person to do the work this software does they would charge no less than the 13/hr at least, Fredrick only charges 149/month and It's constantly on and targeting different customers for the services they like. It keeps reminding them to come to our business. I know other business owners who have a marketer or try to do this work themselves but that would cost more time and money. My favorite feature is the "feedback reviews", it helps us know how we are doing internally and we are doing good, so it's nice to hear how happy our customers feel. Lastly, Fredrick has its own extensions so they track who calls and clicks because of Fredrick emails and texts and it's a large amount of the people we see each day. Even if they're not interested in the offer they still had a reminder of our business and made them call or want to come by.

We love it!

I have been looking into Frederick for over a year now & have just recently activated it. We have been thrilled with it's performance so far! Our rep, Robert was great with helping us set up everything up. We have had great response from our clients so far & have recovered many clients who had not been in for a long time. Frederick is easy to use, pleasing to the eye & the reports are great! We love the net promoter part & are getting great reviews from our clients which we are putting up on our website & using in our marketing. The fact that the discount automatically applies & that there is a note on the appointment so you can see it is a Frederick booking really helps our desk staff. If you are looking for a boost to your business or realize that we all have to get in front of people more & more now days, this is the product for you! I highly Frederick, it's great!

Pros

The fact that the system is "smart" is amazing! It's very cool how Frederick learns what people respond to, trys a lesser discount before offering your set max discount and considers clients service history to choose the best offer for them. I also like the fact that not all campagins offer a discount! We have "recovered" many clients just by reminding them that we are here & that they haven't been in for a while.

Cons

There are a few limitations to how much you can customize each campaign. For example we would like to adjust the expiration date for the referral campaign, but that is not available yet. Other than that, we have not found anything we don't like about the system.

"Fred" is our Staff Member who never calls in sick!

We have been on Fred for a couple years and things ran smoothly from the initial go-live with the product. We have always been able to get questions answered and staff can easily move through the Fred software.

Pros

We really like the client rating and feedback. We are able to identify unhappy clients - often we can turn the situation around for the client. We are also use the feedback to spot and respond to trends.

Cons

We really like the software but were we to identify places for resource investment - it would be great to be able to publish the reviews to FaceBook or even to our own website.

Excellent Overall

We have been using Frederick for 6 months now and have seen thousands of dollars in revenue and hundreds of 'rescued' clients that haven't been here in 6 months or more. One of my favorite features has been collecting client reviews and publishing them to our website, Facebook & Yelp with very little effort on our part! Overall I'd highly recommend Frederick to any salon or spa.

Pros

Set it and forget it, then watch it make you money. It's also easy to customize features and turn things on and off. Reviews section is FANTASTIC.

Cons

I've had people ask to review us that can't get an email again and I can't push one to them. I would also like the ability to set which tier of pricing it starts offering at so our clients aren't duped into thinking they are going to get a master stylist at salon stylist pricing.

Helps My business!

I found hirefrederick on the google chrome web store when it was in beta and tried it. Very easy and simple to edit.

Pros

Clients LOOVE it. Its easy, and it frees me up to not have to take booking requests 24/7. I like the smart marketing features so I can fill slow slots or offer discounts. Also, reminders for appointments and rescuing lost clients is super awesome too.

Cons

Cannot add a credit card to a booking so I can enforce no shows or cancellations by charging the client for the infraction. Sometimes Google Calendar sync doesn't work fast enough for it but its only every now and then.

Frederick is the perfect compliment to Booker

I have used many different automated marketing platforms over the last 15 years that I have owned my spa and by far Frederick is superior in all the ways you would need to brand and market your business. I was skeptical at first to invest in Frederick, but I am 100% behind the brilliance of this automated system. Each step of Frederick was well thought out : a tab created within your booking software to keep tabs on how each campaign is performing , a daily summary of what portion of marketing is working and the best part is once you have decided which campaigns generate the most revenue Frederick does all the work! You can also create a customized campaign to reach target clients. The client interface is also easy to use, is very appealing and you can customize the colors to create consistency within your brand. The most important part of Frederick is the exceptional service you receive from the Senior Account Manager. I have worked with them and They walked me through step by step what he believed were the most significant campaigns based on his tracking of my performance. He presented me with analytical data that he compiled before our first conversation to streamline what was going to be the most important tools to capture and retain clients. His expertise and professionalism and this superior product is what keeps me with Booker and Frederick. One of the most important, if not THE tool to keep your company relevant with clients you have worked hard to get. It will be worth every penny!

The BEST customer marketing system on the planet!

Frederick is very interactive in that it learns the customer response habits. The amount of review traffic has tripled compared to an older system we used, it is smart phone friendly as well. It's the first program in which my customer have actually asked who the company is and if it could work with their business!

Pros

Dashboard is easy to navigate, you get daily and weekly summary feedback. It populates reviews onto Yelp and Google immediately!

Cons

It only works with RO Writer...I NEED it to work with Tracs because I will be switching my RO systems and don't want to lose Frederick.

Frederick is the BEST!

Frederick is hands down the best marketing system we have ever used. It does so much for our businesses on a daily basis from filling empty appointments, rescuing lost customers, capturing customer reviews, etc

One of the best things we have done!

I started using HireFrederick about a year ago and it has consistently generated repeat business for us each month...by at least 50 appointments. It has also allowed us to receive value feedback from our clients as well as reviews for our website, facebook, yelp and google. It has always paid for it's self and is well worth the investment each month.

Pros

The fact that it generates so much repeat business and also helps us gain valuable reviews for our website and social media.

Cons

I think the boost feature needs to send some kind of notice when it sees that we need a boost. Not sure if it is that smart yet :)

I like that I own program do not have to pay a monthly charge . also if I do encounter a problem I pick up the phone and call and problem is fixed within minutes

Great customer interface and marketing program

With customized service boost and campaigns we have been able to generate more profit dollars in the slower months.

Pros

This program allows us to customize service boost emails to meet our needs when its slow and captures customer feedback post repair.

Cons

The program relies very heavy on the text/cell phone for customer feedback. Other programs in the past have used email as an avenue and seemed to get more traction that way.

Your value for money is written out by Frederick! And I love that they make it simple and easy.

Pros

I love the features. Sending out email blasts and texts automatically, as well as being able to send mass emails (which is a service we used to pay for in the past!) Its like everything you need all rolled into one program.

Cons

I wish they offered waiver options, that would automatically connect to Booker and so businesses wouldn't have to implement customer information.

Amazing if we did not have to pay for it separately

Pros

Definitely easy to use and seamless integration with Booker. It confirmed appointments for us, asked clients to review and post to YELP, reminded clients to book their next appointment. It definitely helped us out during the lean days by advertising open slots.

Cons

Separate pricing from Booker so this was in addition to the online booking pricing since Booker did not have the features I mentioned above, it was kind of necessary to have them together which brought up our monthly subscription much higher /location .

Frederick helped our business

Frederick saves us time by sending out emails and texts. It has recovered clients for us and helped us gather feedback that we need. We set up the perimeters of the texts, emails and discounts and Frederick does the rest. Whenever I had a question, the customer service has always been right there with an answer.

Pros

I love that it recovers our lost clients, sends out reminders, fills our last minute appointments. Loves that it follows up with our clients.

Cons

I wish I could set up different discounts for different services. Right now it is all or nothing.

Hire Frederick has pulled our sales out of a slump many times!!

I love Hire Frederick! The Boost campaigns and the Last Minute Deals have pulled our sales out of a slump many times over the past year! We do a LOT of marketing and we use several services to help us. Hire Frederick gives us the most RESULTS and the HIGHEST ROI by far of any of the services we use!!

Pros

It delivers RESULTS!!

Cons

The only two minor Cons I can think of is that on certain campaigns, you are limited in the set-up. I've wanted to change some of the Discount levels from Percentages to Dollars Off and there isn't an option for that. I would also like to be able to to Segment our customer list so that we can send out more targeted messages based on which "segment/bucket/list" the customer falls into.

Great automation

Pros

The software syncs with my online booking software and pulls data automatically to build a marketing database. It also knows how many times people book appointments and gathers great data. It also comes equipped with email campaigning so I got rid of Constant Contact. The email campaigning is much easier to use than constant contact.

Cons

What I like least about the software is that the pricing is based on the number of contacts you have. Even if there are accidentally duplicates of people in the database, it does not let you delete duplicates. Or if someone moves away and you want to take them off the list, it doesn't remove them even if you hit remove on both the frederick software and your online scheduling software.
