The greatest editing app of all time
It's extremely easy to create videos, capture the screen, and edit the results of them. I've been using Camtasia since version 6, and the improvements have truly addressed my daily challenges. I've tried using other editing apps, but I couldn't find anything like this one. It's really comprehensive, focusing on features that truly matter. There are no unnecessary features. If you want to create informative, instructional, short marketing, or budget-friendly videos, then this is definitely your best option.
CONSThere are some memory limitations in projects that use a lot of effects or large video files. Therefore, when I have to edit a large video, I usually split the editing into parts and produce them separately. So, if you want to make videos longer than 10 minutes frequently, on a computer with less than 16GB of memory, Camtasia may not be the best option for you.

New Changes from 2022 to 2023 Frustrating
I really loved it at first and promoted it to others to start using it. Now, it drives me crazy that it takes me longer to create than it ever did before because of these design and UX changes.
PROSIt was pretty easy to learn and could do the basics with no problem.
CONSThe additions of Proxy and other editing features made it cumbersome to get the normal editing completed that 2022 had.
Reasons for switching to Camtasia
Wanted to try something better and more robust.

Camtasia stinks and will be replacing it
Terrible, slow, expensive for what it is, doesn't get good updates.
PROSBeing able to separate screen, mouse, and voiceover.
CONSExtremely poor editing software. No way to play at 2x speed, program runs insanely slow, worse than After Effects, and each project gets worse the more edits you make. No way to do rolling edits, or select future clips easily. Sets-up projects at the incorrect aspect ratio by default, and then when you notice that further in your project, it's a pain in the butt to fix on each individual edit.
Reason for choosing Camtasia
I'll be switching back. Camtasia has become far too much of a pain.

Capture your fantasy screen
I enjoyed creating my video course and used most of Camtasia functionalities, and even though I had a very low memory RAM size I got a good and smooth product at the end.
PROSWell, I started the use of Camtasia about ten years ago and I was astonished how easy was to learn the use of. Besides, upon a few clicks anything were set just out of the box and I could create my first course about video-editing. It's a great software to create a video from a high quality screen capture.
CONSThe price it's the mayor con! If you can afford it and the updates then the cost value the quality. The second con is that you need a lot of memory to get a smooth work. If do you have 32 GB RAM can work fine without problem. No other con from my experience.
Reasons for switching to Camtasia
To test another software but I decided to use both because they have different features
