Essential to our Business
100% positive.
PROSThe best thing about BatchGeo is the ease of use. Using data import tools and the map wizard, we are able to create a useful custom map in under a minute! Then we can share that may across our teams in seconds. This lets us visualize the project we are working on in ways and with speed that is impossible to match using other tools.
CONSThe only thing I can think of is that we can't use the software to markup a map once it has been rendered. We would like to keep the map static but mark or update a location as 'completed' using the same MAP URL.
Reason for choosing BatchGeo
ESRI was simply too expensive for our needs.

Not worth any money
I like that I can make a map but beyond that BAtchGeo is only trying to make money. I can make the same map on google maps. I just want to use the free functions and you have made it too hard to even do that these days. I loved Batch Geo for a long time but now it is just a pain in the ass and it isnt even accuarate any more. My last map was completely wrong and I have been using the same template for years.
CONSProduct quality and ease of use is way down
Reasons for switching to BatchGeo
Someone reccomended it to me and we had a group account. Since no longer in that group the free functions are terrible but my company is not willing to pay $100/month and for what I use it for thats extreme. Much better tools out there that are not $100/month

Great for mapping
Too many emails
PROSLove how you can change the pins manually if needed, quick mapping system
CONSI don't like that it sends me an email every time I make a map, I just want to copy and paste the map somewhere. I wish it could also handle more pins on one map
Reasons for switching to BatchGeo
Easymapmaker was not as good at determining locations and Batchgeo gave me the distances from the subject point on the map

BatchGeo Process analysis
We're able as a public utility to use Automated Meter Reading software to plot points in the system that don't register readings within the acceptable amount of time, and also those that don't appear due to other configuration and physical construction issues.
PROSWhen we started using the software we were able to get the street view by hovering over a data point on the map. This allows the technician to see the property in question to eliminate any confusion with regard to the exact location of our assets
CONSI've dealt with mapping products from the DeLorme software of Windows 95 through the most current iterations of ESRI. I've also used NASA Worldwind and Google Earth Desktop. A version of QGIS allows google raster images to be downloaded in tiles that are applicable to the regions we want to examine. Google Maps does seem to be free to a certain extent I was given the explanation that BatchGeo wasn't free to use beyond the first few trials. It would seem that this doesn't quite line up. To my point the software should be able to be purchased in ways other than a monthly subscription as it uses the WWW.
Reason for choosing BatchGeo
Recommended by our vendor as it had been used in other sectors employing their systems.

BatchGeo is an excellent tool for geocoding addresses
BatchGeo has been an absolutely delightful product doing exactly what I needed it to do and very easy to use.
PROSWhen we need to show the locations of a group of addresses on one map, BatchGeo is perfect. It is very easy to use -- import addresses from Excel or CSV and it locates all that have a valid address. The free version is quite robust.
CONSI haven't figured out how to edit individual data elements, so when I have an error in my data, I re-do the whole dataset. It is so fast to do with the small sets of data that I work with that it is not a problem, but it might be nice to know if there is a way to edit the map elements after the map is created.
Reason for choosing BatchGeo
I did not consider any others. BatchGeo was the first product I found and it works great, so no need to look further.

Great Help to Visualize People Locations
Creating a map is pretty simple. I export data from our church management software as a spreadsheet, delete unnecessary information, rearrange columns to match BatchGeo's columns (probably not necessary), and upload the spreadsheet. BatchGeo takes the addresses and plots them on a map that I can access and share. In the map itself, I like that I can view where individuals live and see their information by hovering my cursor over the pin or I can use the tools to see logical geographical groupings of people or to see a spreadsheet-like presentation of the underlying data. I very much like the fact that there is a free version.
CONSFor my use, a subscription is too expensive ($99.00 per month). I wish there were a level that was, say, $5.00 per month that would allow me to create maps with up to 5,000 markers per map, 2 users, etc. Therefore, I use the free version and have to be sure to access my maps at regular intervals.

Great Sales-person tool!
Love that I can overlay all my prospective, and clients, on a map. Schedules always change. The map allows me to be very nimble and efficient in my ever changing days. I would personally attribute about 25% gain-of-field time to BatchGeo by keeping the drive times as minimal as possible.
CONSCons.... once you understand how to get really creative with the import tools, there really is no cons. I've used hyperlinks on the data to link to other data or a CRM platform.

My go-to mapping program for my volunteer work
I love that you can easily take the data in an excel spreadsheet with column headings, then copy and paste the data, and wait a few minutes and have a map!
CONSIt's hard to use from a tablet when you have poor internet connectivity. There's probably some way to download the data and have it function offline, but I haven't figured it out. Also know, I use the free version because this is for a volunteer organization so we are always looking for ways to be effective without incurring costs.

Works plenty well for my purpose.
PROSVery easy to use and export the maps. Plenty of customization and allows for data to be embedded to each location and accessed later.
CONSSometimes it is difficult to label the properties as I intend to. If I have two types of properties and want one type to be colored in red and labeled A, B, C, D, etc, and the other one to be colored in blue and labeled 1, 2, 3, 4, etc, it can be difficult to accomplish.

Helpful mapping program
I have used BatchGeo to create infomaps for my website. I also teach my Web Design students how to do the same thing for their webstites.
PROSI like that this mapping program is easy to use. It gives step-by-step instructions. I teach it to my students and most of them are able to pick it up easily and excited to learn this new skill.
CONSI think it would be great if it were easier to add images to the location markers. I would also like to see some additional options added to the location markers, such as different options in pin icons.

BatchGeo For The Win!
Overall BatchGeo saves time, saves energy, and helps me manage a long list of clients throughout the state.
PROSBatchGeo couldn't be more simple to use and is something I reference every week before decided which client visits to make, based on similar locations. I also love that it can plan the most efficient route, which helps keep mileage low and saves me time!
CONSI don't have any negative impressions of BatchGeo, I really enjoy the program.
