Ecotrak and Del Taco

Since our beginning with Ecotrak, the facilities department has been able to gain more insight into the state of our locations. We can review trends with equipment and vendors to change what is needed to ensure we are progressing and traveling down the right path. We have the ability to create reports that aid us in our decision-making processes. We can more easily move from service request creation to invoice approval with the necessary information all in one platform. The system has enabled us to work closely with other departments and provide them the information they need from us with ease. We have been able to more efficiently help our field OP’s teams with their issues and get them resolved rapidly. All in all, we have become more efficient with this system.

PROS

The Ecotrak system has allowed us the ability to customize the platform to work for our needs and requirements and not the other way around. The adaptability of this platform allows us to not only enhance our processes but gives us the ability to change these processes when it is necessary with little effort.

CONS

As with any software platform, there have been several glitches that have created more work for our department. That being said, the system has never inhibited our ability to ensure service for our locations.

Reason for choosing Ecotrak Facility Management Software

It was determined, from what I have learned since being onboarded, that our department felt Ecotrak was the simplest platform for our OP's partners to manage and it was also customizable to our requirements.

Reasons for switching to Ecotrak Facility Management Software

I was not with Del Taco during the switch; however, I believe cost and visibility on WO's and vendors were the main issues.

The best Facility Management Software on the market

Overall it has been a positive experience that has saved me tons of time and money. I've received some of the best support from Ecotrak.

PROS

Ecotrak is incredibly valuable for my facilities and construction teams to place and track service requests. I've used several CMMS systems in my career and Ecotrak is the most operator friendly system. The system tracks facility equipment, service providers and spend across all my locations. Ecotrak helps me organize and manage over 1,000 work orders and locations a week. My service providers love working in the app and are not charged for using the system.

CONS

My company took awhile to switch from Service Channel to Ecotrak however, the implementation team made it such an easy, seamless transition. I wish I would have made the switch sooner!

Not what was advertised

Dismal, labor intensive, and now I am extremely angry that we are being told we must now pay per invoice for a system that was supposed to be free for vendors.

PROS

Well if it did what it is supposed to do, it would really be cool. I can completely understand the appeal of being able to track warranty information and keep track of your maintenance.

CONS

Here is the big problem for customers using Ecotrak. For a service that is supposed to track warranty, it is too limited to be truly useful. You see, each vendor is only allowed to enter one warranty term. I guess there are some vendors who can offer a single warranty term for ALL the products they offer, but most vendors just can't. So here we are entering stuff into Ecotrak because our customer asked us to do so, and all of it is pretty much meaningless. Hey if we could enter in the correct warranty term for an item we sold them today, that would be so awesome, but no. Multiple items on the same invoice could each have different warranties you see. So all of this warranty tracking work is pretty much useless. Another big issue? The supposed labor savings are not as significant as advertised because now a lot of the labor has been delegated to vendors and to operations personnel who now must spend hours sitting at a desk typing stuff into Ecotrak instead of running the restaurants. For vendors, we must expend a LOT more labor to maintain the Ecotrak system. We have to train people to use Ecotrak. Most of our customers don't use Ecotrak thank goodness, but it is a pain that all Ecotrak invoices require special handling. Supporting Ecotrak also inhibits our own efforts to further automate our own processes. And now, as if all of this weren't bad enough now Ecotrak wants us to pay them $1 an invoice in return for all of this? Really?

EcoTrak is a must have for Restaurants

I have used ServiceChannel and EcoTrak in my business life and EcoTrak has done a great job in creating a CMMS that tracks every item that you want databased. Priced so vendors are saddled with huge costs to invoice directly into Ecotrak like other systems.

PROS

asset based system so you can track every piece of equipment in your locations and then data mine the costs and other aspects needed to meet Accountings needs for budgets and costs.

CONS

Like any other computer based systems, EcoTrak does have system glitches that arise but they work quickly to resolve them.

Cost was lower and the databasing of assets far better.
